Development[]

Also called 'Steel Wings' this fighter is the main air superiority fighter vehicle of the ziths. First developed during civilization phase and very little has changed in the transition into the space age.

Technical Aspects[]

The Dragon's Teeth is armed with two missile pods one on each wing that are excellent at attacking other air ships and they are the planes main weapon system. The secondary weapon is the nose mounted machine gun, a short ranged weapon for close ranged dog fights should they run out of missiles or find themselves in space.

The plane's sturdiness comes from its design, it is basically a flat piece of metal flying through the air. It has very few moving parts beyond the engin in the back, the cockpit, and the weapon systems. Computers only take up a small portion around the cockpit, the rest of the plane is armor for the pilot and the engine. The cockpit is fully enclosed and air tight to protect the pilot form the outside environment or from a void. The engine is a standard zith in atmosphere jet, fully enclosed and deep in the hull of the plane.

Use in battle[]

The 'dragons teeth' is slow and well armored and armed for a fighter. It is slow and heavy giving it a big disadvantage when chasing or being chased buy an enemy fighter. However it is very maneuverable and well armored and armed making it devastating at close range dogfight an when armed with long rang missile's. The fighters will often start a battle with a long ranged missile exchange with the enemy forces trying to down as many as possible quickly, once the missiles are spent the fighters move in for close ranged fighting were they can use their maneuverability.

In the space phase the ship was upgraded with several mini engines all over the fighter. The engines are to small and weak to have much effect in and atmosphere but in space the engines, when timed right by the on board computer, allows the fighter to turn around quickly but the extreme g-forces would likely knock the pilot unconscious. When the pilot starts the spin the computer releases a sleeping gas into the pilots mask. When the turn finises the computer cuts off the gas and wakes the pilot allowing the pilot to continue the fight.

History[]

Originally developed by the kingdom of Inor during the last days of the War for Inoria, the Dragon's Teeth saw little action on its home-world, and was eventually mothballed. However when the zith meet and fought the niun they realized that they had no true fighters to shoot down the niun air craft having to rely on ground emplacements and were left open to consent raids. The engineers of Inor quickly set about looking for old schematics of the retired airship and were able to pull the aged craft out of the mothballs and refit them for service. The fighters preformed well for first time engagements and won a place in the zith armed forces as the first true anti-air craft.
