The Legatus Krakana-class star cruiser is a 620 meter long battleship in service of the Legatus. As the backbone of the Legatus Navy, the Krakana-class is a common sight within the Legatus territories both within the Quadrant Galaxies and the Space in Between.
As a multi-role starship, the ship can act in different kind of roles, including border patrol, within fleet formations and within defensive formations. A lone Krakana-class is capable of subjugating a single star system with its complement of ground vehicles and star fighters.
The class is named for the Krakana-class formerly deployed by the Cyrandia Alliance, chosen to mock the former Cyrandia powers and signaling the Legatus new dominant position within the Quadrant Galaxies and the Cyrandia Cluster.
The Krakana-class Star Cruiser was designed near the final stages of the Second Great Cyrannus War and first consruction started by the end of 2820 at the construction facility at Carnthedain, a planet within the Endless Space. Legatus command named the class Krakana, to mock the former Cyrandia powers and signaling the Legatus new dominant position within the Quadrant Galaxies and the Space in Between.
Together with the Arquitens-class light cruiser it became a common sight within the Legatus territories in the Space in Between and became involved in tracking down smugglers. Soon after its launch, the class became the backbone of the Legatus Navy and became a common and popular sight within the Legatus territories.
The Krakana-class has a similair design like most dagger-shaped Imperial based designs though features a more robust superstructure. The Legatus Krakana-class is a 620 meter long star destroyer, though rather small it is heavily armed with at least 8 dual turbolasers and 1 forward ion cannon, capable of disabling shields. The class features a hangar bay which houses a single ASP squadron and various shuttles. Its hyperdrive allows it to travel long distances in relative short periods of time, and as five enginges to power it. The class is excellent suited for patrol duties, support in fleet battles and defensive and offensive duties. It is named for the Cyrandia Krakana-class to mock the Legatus enemies.
It can be seen operating on its own, but most of the time the ship is part of task forces together with either Arquitens-class light cruisers or the Yurrus-class carrier. It is also frequently seen escorting the larger Enforcer-class star destroyer.
The class uses the LSC prefix, which stands for Legatus Star Cruiser.
