The Hesper Freighter is a large cargo ship created by the Nrrlaks built for carrying Spice. The first of these vessels were shipped out of the city of Leogoz during the Pteis Unification War. With Leogoz succeeding in overtaking the planet, they became the go-to oceanic vessel for their growing interstellar empire.
Cargo capacity[]
Hesper Freighters are able to carry 8, 40ft intermodal containers, generally filled with refined spice from spice derricks to various port cities around the world. Each container can contain 66,139 lbs (30,000 kg) without structural damage, and as such the Hesper Freighters are ultimately able to carry 529,112 lbs (240001.16608 kg) — or 264.556 tons of product.
