I've been looking around and noticing that everyone else has been making one so I thought to myself 'why not'. I was in a cheery mood when writing (as always) so light humour has been splattered everywhere. If I have made any outdated comments it might have either been for the lulz or I wasn't up-to-date at the time.
My current stuff[]
Factions[]
- Draconid Imperium: Roman dragons IN SPACE! If you want the basic version. Since they stand like most therapods and spit posion rather than fire it's not without some differences so it's more like flying elven raptors in space.
- Expansion is almost dependant on creating wormholes from currently-existing black holes so they could end up almost anywhere but so far have remained in andromeda on the basis that longer tunnels require more energy to make.
- They are also based on the romans (Their key policy is 'Pax Draconica', sound familiar?) and embrace the fine arts so yes they do embody some traits found in modern dragon fiction.
- Solonese Union: A minor spacefaring coalition who just love to go on about 'unity' and 'cooperation' and 'prosperity'. Oh and they love mecha and Sphess Maureens!
- Is it a URC clone? Not when your infrastructure is highly decentralised, focusing on being as prosperous as possible and little specialisation for each race. No galactic domination here.
- Also sapient reptiles/synapsids are uncommon where they are from.
- Sons of Urzgov: You can tell these guys are just Orks using a Starcraft-ish name, but they'll loot/raid anyone who even thinks the draconis are anything but amoral slavers.
- Khaxvis Resurgence - The Dark Elf cunterpart to the Draconis Empire. Only thanks to liberal use of cybernetics and genetic engineering their superiority compex has a more solid foundation. They enjoy using mercenaries and being ruthless in their plans because power and mercy do not exist for them.
- Theian Technocracy - Tech-savvy aliens from the far-future. Psycics, digital afterlife, ruined mega-empire and endangered status carries some Eldar tones. Currently firm allies of the TIAF and in a life-debt with Apalos.
Stories[]
- Ghost ship in the Core: Derelict spaceship with a star-chart to the draconis' core worlds, how has anyone not found this yet? Its been drifting for 70,000 years [Rant Mode:Deactivated]. Then again, I suppose space is big.
- This thing is still open if anyone is interested, basic map skills required for use though.
- Wental Negotiations: That's right, the dragon-men allied with the angry robots. MasterMachine has taken the liberty of transcribing the entire dialogue if you want to read it here (Look at 13:02 to see Hinata owning an admiral)
- Andromeda War: The Draconis are not just key players, they practically started the whole thing! Shooting a temple ship isn't the best way to say hello but they did steal something important.
- So far they are facing off against a LoB/Wental invasion... It's a good thing those wormhole generators of theirs have an off switch.
- From what it's decided Year two is going to get A LOT worse (The Horus Heresy springs to mind for me)
- The Kraw Expedition (with Irskaad): The first intergalactic wormhole the Draconis have built leads to the Kraw galaxy, where they will be touring the Federation to get an idea of who lives there.
- The Veil of Gold (again, with Irskaad): Three Dagorian mercenaries (along with a Terradixian and a Korkonid) are hired to serve the Khaxvis resurgence during the Andromeda War, along the way they learn about the evil Chaos Space Dragons and just what thir contract didn't mention. Could they one day learn that sometimes the damgers of the job itself outweigh the paycheck?
- Morphis Rises: For over 200,000 years Draconis cyborgs (of all varieties) have been very rare. Now they've found a loophole which could catapult their strength to new levels... Or possibly ruin them, we'll see.
Upcoming Stuff[]
Factions[]
- Caharil: 7ft tall hippie parrots with very basic psycic powers. Prior warning: Although the best they can do is talk to each other mentally, they know how to kick butt!
Stories[]
- Androemda Galactic Commonwealth: At some point during the war the Divinarium and Draconis will found a galactic alliance (Yes like the URC) primarily so they can survive year 2 of the Andromeda War but also unite the galaxy.
Extras[]
Scale chart[]
One thing bugged me with writing believable fiction stories: How big are these guys and how much will size affect the situation. To remedy this I am making a scale chart like the ones you see on several dinosaur pages. Height is measured from base t othe top of the head. Excluding crests, horns etc.
Requests[]
Aside from a few exceptions, most races would wear at least a few clothes. In my opinion shoes are advised for leaving the house because no matter how absurd or tough your feet look, stepping on Lego barefoot is painful!
I see myself as a budding artist when it comes to pencil sketches[1]. If you would like a drawing of one particular character just send me a full-body snapshot including a white frame (the despired area) and i'll see about placing it in an epic pose. Specific poses, props, extras, unavailable clothing items and other bits-and-bobs are available on request.
I have a showcase on my userpage if it interests anyone.
Current Requests: Xho - Xhodocto Imperios - Andromeda War Cyrannian - Basileus
Trivia[]
There are some similarities between the Draconis and the Imperium of Man and I can see why. Here's a list of similarities i have identified.
- Planets expected to give tithes
- An inquisition
- Surrounded by races more powerful and sophisticated than it
- Superiority complex
- Empire spread out in clusters across the galaxy
- Old
- Mandatory military service
- An Imperial Guard
- Supersoldiers
If anyone can spot more similarities I will happily add them.
