Animalia Chordata Dinosauria

Dinosauria (Owen, 1842) or dinosaurs are chordates with features intermediate between reptiles and birds. This taxon is the predecessor of Aves.

  • Ornithischia (herbivorous, sometimes feathered dinosaurs with leaf-shaped cheek teeth, beaks, and bird-like hips)
  • Sauropoda (quadrupedal herbivorous dinosaurs that usually present long necks and tails)
  • Sauropodomorpha (early sauropod relatives, many of which stood on two legs and some of which had climbing adaptations)
  • Theropoda (bipedal, usually carnivorous dinosaurs)
