Cryptia (Schnautzr, 2008) or cryptians are animals that resemble non-living matter, especially anthropomorphized versions of inanimate objects. Animals made of stone, wood, sugar, bones, etc., but which do not take on the shape of a creature that can be classified otherwise, belong to this taxon.

  • Exanima (cryptians apparently composed by various body parts from living beings)
