Uh I found an extremely helpful way to conquer grox. Make a cheating game and ally with grox use setconsequence trait trader and moremoney to buy all but one of their systems. Then go to a non cheating game. ally with them and then conquer the planet and now you have gotten destroy grox and ally with them on a non cheating game. This is also a good technique for getting to the center of the galaxy in which you use a cheat game and got to center but do not go in. then make your way out buying or colonizing every system you stop at. thus a pathway is made into grox lines and a noncheating game can fly along the cheating empires route to the center! 16:37, October 15, 2012 (UTC) bionicle333

Voices volume Edit

Changing the voices volume in the Audio Settings won't affect the speech volume of the Grox when communicating with one of their planets. Is this a bug or is it intentional?

9994 Edit

I found something interesting about something the grox say! We all know that in the audio for them talking, you can hear them say "9994" randomly..

Turns out, 15.9994 is actually the atomic mass of Oxygen! not sure if thats worth noting or not, but it's a thing..

Grox download Edit

this may be unique to me but when i did the PNG drag the grox came out blackish and had two pairs of feet layered, is this normal for obtaining creatures through this means?

Grob = Brutal Edit

Just found out when trying for a new name for an empire, the German word for "Brutal" is Grob. Grob is assumed to be the original name for the Grox. Coincidence? Maybe. Worth adding to the Trivia section, yes. Bookworm2MasterMachine -Be a Friend, Save a Life- 18:16, June 11, 2011 (UTC)

Grob is Borg reversed. SpodelingPic - Imperios - We are eternal... 19:15, June 11, 2011 (UTC)
And Grob is also a word that means "Brutal" in German. Worth adding the the Trivia Page, IMO Bookworm2MasterMachine -Be a Friend, Save a Life- 19:29, June 11, 2011 (UTC)
In Russian, grob means coffin. Fits Grox's unliving nature, IMO. SpodelingPic - Imperios - We are eternal... 16:07, November 21, 2011 (UTC)

Actually, "Grob" means more of a rude sort of brutal. It's also pronounced "Gwob". I know because an Austrian told me. -- 14:53, April 29, 2014 (UTC)

Re:Taxomony Edit

This is the correct taxonomy (Mechanica, Groxolia). Let's put that! {{SUBST:Template:NickandSara/sig}} 16:38, July 14, 2011 (UTC)

I don't think it is. Groxidae was created first; Groxolia seems to be redundant and should probably be deleted. GirdoPic Ghelae - (talk) 16:51, July 14, 2011 (UTC)
I agree. The grox aren't all bots. Grox Resistance is futile! 17:11, July 14, 2011 (UTC)

Expanded Radius Mod...Edit

I have a solution for the unreachable systems.

1. Exterminate all grox colonies within 5 parsecs of the unreachable grox colony.

2. Select a planet near the unreachable colony and terraform it to T3.

3. If you have a mod for it, place an umber turret, bio protector, and bio stabilizer on the planet.

4. Buy and place a monolith on the planet.

5. Wait for the planet to evolve and destroy more grox colonies.

6. Ally the new species.

7. Ask them to attack the unreachable colony.

Of course they will not be affected buy the radius of the core. If they can't do it, repeat from step 2 and do another empire, then make them both attack at the same time. Grox Resistance is futile! 15:57, July 16, 2011 (UTC)

I am currently trying to have the grox to be a little more pleasent towards me so i can get to the galactic core. but even then they will attack me, so i wonder, is it because they fear the staff of life will be used against them? they are worth the trouble. K1ngd0mh3arts 13:12, October 27, 2011 (UTC)Kingd0mh3arts

From memory, you need to ally with the Grox so they don't attack you. Many theories lend a hand to the connection between the Grox and the Staff of Life. It can vanquish their colonies in seconds, and if every empire in the galaxy got a staff with 42 uses, they're doomed (come here if you want further theory discussion). What will happen if I ally Grox? Edit

I mean... what will happen? Bunch of people says that if you ally them, everyone (otherwise Grox) will have 200- because you allied them and hate you completely... ._. --TaiLongOfYin 15:10, November 21, 2011 (UTC)

It is mentioned on the page, here. Yes, your relationship with all non-Grox empires will be decreased by 200. GirdoPic Ghelae - (talk) 15:56, November 21, 2011 (UTC) 07:39, May 6, 2013 (UTC) I allied. I thankfully read the page, so had all allies above 150. I did the math, and you can still ally with species you uplift. -71 = war( at minus 70 you can still do missions or give gifts). Uplift a person. +50 points. Relation will most likely be -150 at that point. Help a planet. +100. Relation - 50. No war.If they are zealot or warrior, happy ray solves that.

9994, 999horse, or 999morse? Edit

````The wiki says in the "langauge" article that they say 9994, but I've seen HUGE amounts of reports (including myself) that they don't say 9994, they say 999horse or 999forse. Do you think thats what they're saying?````
For removal Edit
The lines "This could be possible due to humans' greater reliance on technology, as well as the fact that we earthlings are quite weak, and easy to destroy. Also, both the Grox and humans appear to be relying on force, rather than diplomacy, to interact with other races or nations."
- are all basically just rambling conjecture, and not even very well supported conjecture. Humans act in all different ways, and rely on a variety of methods to interact with other nations. Also, basically every race relies on technology in the game, the Grox just happen to have the most.
Grox Images Edit
the Grox images show incorrect knowledge. The pictures of Grox without parts should say, "What the Grox would look like without their bot parts.
No Attack? Edit
Okay, So I was doing a Spore letsplay on my channel. And I decided that it was time to complete my Home World mission to find the Grox. After Using A Few Black Holes, I found myself on the border of the Grox Empire. I traveled to one of their colonies, made contact with them, introduced myself, and left to complete my mission. What bugs me though is that I got a result I didn't expect, I've heard that when people encounter the Grox, they are attacked, and the Grox may even declare war on them. But when I met them, not only did they not declare war on me, but they didn't even attack me. They had the -70 for Not Trusting Strangers, but I wasn't attacked. IS this supposed to happen? I've never met the Grox before, so I think Either they aren't supposed to attack me yet, or it has something to do with the fat that I am a Trader. So, can anyone clarify why they didn't attack me? Rytaga (talk) 23:07, August 22, 2015 (UTC)
The talk page is not a best place to talk about personal Spore experiences, but I'll answer you what I think is true. It is because you have never met them; sometimes even before you have met the Grox, an ally will request help from you saying that the Grox are invading their system, if you were to attack the Grox ships that will give you negative relations. It sounds like you have never encountered them this way so that is why they haven't immediately attacked you. --WormulWormulon Talk to me 01:09, August 23, 2015 (UTC)
Grox Religion? Edit
Well hello sporewiki. i would like to add that just now, i zoomed into a grox city (BFF FOREVAH!! :D) to hear the anthem... And i caught footage of them gathering in yellow light and praising something, throwing flowers at a guy who goes around in a circle of kneeling Grox, and even doing the robot dance in a group!! Edit: The moment i go back to playing 9 of them are bowing to one, and i forgot some were playing woodwinds. What is up with these aliens?!?!?!
Can anybody add this to trivia or something? I found it interesting o0o
hi ♥
CriticalCritter (talk) 22:40, December 22, 2015 (UTC)
A higher-quality image demonstrating that this is a real Grox city and not, say, the Civilisation Stage with Grox made playable due to modding, would be appreciated. GirdoPic Ghelae - (talk) 09:34, December 23, 2015 (UTC)
Personal playstyle opinions have NO place in a wiki. Edit
"Although you can defeat the Grox this way, it is highly recommended that you just download the patch. You will save time and Sporebucks, and you can actually do it yourself."
If you explain how you can increase your travel radius via modding, in rather great detail, such a rather very personal opinion has no place in this wiki. A wiki is used to inform people about different game mechanics and lore, not to forcibly push your own personal judgement on other.
On the contrary, people can still come here looking for help in how to defeat a mechanic easily, and offering a simpler solution isn't a bad thing. Recommending a mod, though unorthodox, is a solution for those struggling. Spore is one pf those games where people still come back to try it, and having information like this can be useful.
Stating this is like stating that the fiction universe doesn't belong on the wiki.
Galactic Core License Edit
Tip: If you rather want to make your way into the galactic core peacefully in and out, it may be that you can be accomplishing just that on your first journey there. Although obviously it is a scam, as it is not easy since you will have to ally with The Grox to get their trust surprisingly enough as the point, and consequentially you will be sacrificing that same peace although only on the opposite direction: through the other empires. So it's a 50/50 sides that work as two valves in which you have to sacrifice more and more the one that the more you hop from.
