I think that a lot of the 'needs' listed here where actually just things that help. I had interstellar drive 4, and one colony pack, and got their using only one energy repair pack. Perhaps we should also consider adding in a new section with actual information about it, not just how to get there, such as what it does to your compass, how the size of the glow changes when your camera is far away enough, etc. I dunno, just a thought. In real life the nearest konown quasars are billions of light years away. The Galactic core is actually a normal supermassive black hole. Almost every galaxy contains one. The biggest are in quasars. Steve's second blessing?[]
So I just made it to the core, got the Staff of Life and everything.
...When I left the core, my travel radius was reset. As in, my travel radius was shrinking normally when I was heading to the core, but once I left I could head 20 parsecs in every direction. This has persisted.
Pretty sure the Travel Radius Expansion mod/patch only did 10 parsecs, so this might be a new feature.
Can someone verify?

Odd[]
Recently made my trip to the Galactic Core after my old game was lost to computer troubles, and I found a place in my galaxy where the Grox were thinned out around the Galactic Core, and it was odd to note I didn't receive resistance from them until I was only around 3 parsecs from the Core itself. - That is odd indeed. Perhaps only the saved game was destroyed and the rest of your game is still there? Maybe its worth visiting the space of your old saved game to see if it has turned into an NPC.

The 1st time I went to the Galactic Core I quite literally LEEROY JENKINS'ed it...it was pro :D I /did/ have auto turret, MEGA proton missle, etc. but I didn't stop xD the pronessness -99Hedgehog
