I think that a lot of the 'needs' listed here where actually just things that help. I had interstellar drive 4, and one colony pack, and got their using only one energy repair pack. I could've probably made it their without using the colony or the energy pack, though it may have been harder. Paradox Juice 23:36, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Good idea, I got halfway there with #2 lol. I'll change it. Thanks, TimeMaster Talk Main Contribs

Thanks. Perhaps we should also consider adding in a new section with actual information about it, not just how to get there, such as what it does to your compass, how the size of the glow changes when your camera is far away enough, etc. I dunno, just a thought. Paradox Juice 23:54, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, a bit late but that would also be nice, I just noticed practically the whole age is just about getting there. . . A paragraph about the actual core would be nice. Thanks, TimeMaster Talk Main Contribs 19:48, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

What do you get for getting to the galactic core?

The player meets Steve aka god and recieves the Staff of Life. Wormulon 22:24, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

How can I get there?

--Fedelede 04:07, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Get a good interstellar drive and make a run for it. Energy and repair packs are very useful. —Preceding signed comment added by TimeMaster (talkcontribs) 13:38, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

The core is actually a quasar. Liquid Ink 22-08-09

No, it's a super massive blackhole. Poisson14 07:27, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

Oh, yeah, I'm wrong. Liquid Ink 22-08-09

Wait! I may be correct. I THINK quasars are super massive blackholes that are giving off lots of energy. Liquid Ink 22-08-09

In real life the nearest konown quasars are billions of light years away. The Galactic core is actually a normal supermassive black hole. Almost every galaxy contains one. The biggest are in quasars. The galactic core in Spore is a supermassive black hole. It even states that it is in the galactic object rare page in Spore. Wormulon 10:38, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

Intellar Drives[]

I don't think its possible with three, i did it with 4 (and it was my fist time, and quite recently). Is there proof?

Yes. Someone here did it and we have to take their word for it. Poisson14 03:56, 20 August 2009 (UTC) Also, sign posts.

Most like you can now that the radius doesn't shrink >_> —Preceding signed comment added by TimeMaster (talkcontribs) 13:38, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

OK, in 1 game I couldn't get there with inter'-drive 5 but in another game i got there with inter'-drive 2, anyone know why. that also means its possible with 2,3,4 & 5 and possibly 1. 86.169.38.104 19:57, November 10, 2009 (UTC)

I always thought it was possible with 2. —Preceding signed comment added by TimeMaster (talkcontribs) 21:25, November 10, 2009 (UTC)

off a bit?[]

bit of trivia but it apears the core isn't actally at the center of the galaxy, the actuall center in 0.6pc out just wondering if it should be added under triva or something --{{SUBST:Nosubst|Signatures/chao.master}} 22:24, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

Wow, seriously?
When I repair my game I'll test that. That's actually really cool.
All is fair in love and war, until I show up ~~FNRKK 22:55, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

Maybe the place where the player's ship orbits is 0.6pc away from the actual black hole.--Simpols 17:43, November 30, 2009 (UTC)

Steve's second blessing?[]

So I just made it to the core, got the Staff of Life and everything.

...When I left the core, my travel radius was reset. As in, my travel radius was shrinking normally when I was heading to the core, but once I left I could head 20 parsecs in every direction. This has persisted.

Pretty sure the Travel Radius Expansion mod/patch only did 10 parsecs, so this might be a new feature.

Can someone verify?

Banjo2E 06:53, February 11, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, the travel restrictions near the Core are removed after visiting Steve. GirdoPic Ghelae - (talk) 14:15, February 11, 2011 (UTC)
This no longer appears to be the case, at least in my current game. - Mitchz95 (talk) 21:05, July 21, 2020 (UTC)

Odd[]

Recently made my trip to the Galactic Core after my old game was lost to computer troubles, and I found a place in my galaxy where the Grox were thinned out around the Galactic Core, and it was odd to note I didn't receive resistance from them until I was only around 3 parsecs from the Core itself. It seemed something worth bringing up. Is there any explanation for this? I followed all the normal protocol things.---User:HerbisoarEmpireTalkContributions 14:04, May 21, 2011 (UTC)

That is odd indeed. Perhaps only the saved game was destroyed and the rest of your game is still there? Maybe its worth visiting the space of your old saved game to see if it has turned into an NPC. WormulWormulon Talk to me 14:30, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
