Spore was intended to be a movie adaptation of the Electronic Arts video game of the same name. The plot details and what was supposed to be the release date are unknown. The movie would have been produced by Blue Sky Studios and distributed by 20th Century Fox.
The idea of a movie based around Spore had been considered by Will Wright as early as August 2008. It was first revealed to be in development in October 2009, shortly before the release of Spore Hero. No details of the movie were ever released, with the general consensus now being that it had been cancelled following the series' ongoing hiatus that had began in mid 2010.
On February 2021, Disney, the owners of Blue Sky since 2019, announced the studio's closure, leaving the film obstensibly cancelled.
