Red dwarfs in the interstellar view

A red dwarf is the most common type of star in the Space Stage. When the player is inside a planetary system, all red dwarfs have identical color, size and brightness; being yellow-orange and smaller than both yellow stars and blue giants. From the interstellar view, red dwarfs appear completely red. Being the dimmest and smallest of all stars in the Space Stage, they are the stars that fade the quickest when the player zooms out from a system.

They are usually the single star in their planetary system, although they can form part of OM, GM and MM binary systems.

Planets around red dwarfs typically have red or yellow spice, but may occasionally have purple or pink spice. The first colonization mission involves a green orbit planet around a red dwarf in the home system's vicinity. The system also contains two other rocky planets with red and blue orbits.

Trivia[]

  • Just as in reality, red dwarfs are the most common type of star in the universe.
  • Red dwarfs belong to spectral class M, as explained in game's descriptions of binary systems.
  • Although in Spore many red dwarf systems harbor habitable worlds, in reality their habitability is disputed.
