A10.1 is a moon of A10, part of the A10-A10.1 double planet system, and part of the Nivenian Empire. A10.1 is very small, but contains high amounts of methane, which is constantly outgassing due to the waste heat of Nivenian mining planets and habitats. As such, A10.1 is used as a source of methane and other hydrocarbons (which are in abundance here) for the construction of ringworlds. The A10-A10.1 double planet system is tethered together by a carbon nanotube cable, and functions as a major spaceport.
Economically, A10.1 has a very low population, but they are very slightly wealthier than the population on A10.
