  • You seem to have a problem with Terrapisces, seeing as you left this:

Lumping the vast diversity of fish into a single order based on the presence of limbs in a game where adding limbs to any animal is as simple as drag and drop always has been and always will be a bad idea.

on the page. Seeing as you are to busy to fix this, I could. I think that I have a solution. Chondrapoda should be moved back to Chondrichthys, with the Berraka and Chibar going to Sapiobatrachidae, and Quixid going to Cyclostomamphibia, or a new family in its order. Cyclostomamphibia is moved to Myxiniformes. Dentinae is merged with piscidata, and moved to caudata.

    • I read the fiction guidelines a lot of times, but never came to encounter the taxonomy guidelines (already kept the link in my gmail notes), so thanks again.

What about changing Amoeba have 4-toed pseudopods' to Amoeba have pseudopods'?

The fact that cross-wiki drama is against the rules aside, if Amoeba pseudopods have four toes, that edit would be bad too.

    • No cross-wiki drama is permitted. Settle this on Superpower wiki.

So, with no proof either way, and with the difference between winged and non-winged being minor because they can't fly anyway, what's the point of splitting them?

    • Of course, it makes sense for a "Why did you delete Protostomochordata" to naturally, gradually transform into a bunch of proverbs.

  • I know it's intended to be a raptor, but it looks nothing like one. And I'm pretty sure there's a real life taxon where it fits, although I admit Tyrannosauridae wasn't the best option.

    • The rules state that the text on the page takes priority over the appearance of the creature itself--since both raptors and tyrannosaurs are carnivorous theropods and the hand used is misleadingly named "Velocigrasper" anyway, it's not too dramatic of a leap.

    • Except in some cases, I believe. Although I'm not sure of whether example 1 of When to classify by morphology or test means it should be classified as a dog or as a hyena. Plus, if the name of used parts did matter, all creatures with the D'orca mouth would be antelopes.

But again, maybe text does matter more. If it supposed to be a raptor and the creature itself doesn't matter much, I could move it to Sicklesauridae instead, right?

        Loading editor
    • Part names don't matter in that sense, sure--but someone who doesn't remember how many fingers a velociraptor has could easily use velocigrasper by mistake because of the name. I remember making the same mistake before I learned more about dinosaurs.

It lacks the sickle claw, so I'm not sure about Sicklesauridae given it even has "sickle" in the name--but then again, given that's the only issue that doesn't look like it could be an easy mistake, it's either that or make a scaly troodontid family.

  • Are you sure? Most representations of Yi qi I have seen have beaks, and cockatrices usually are represented with rooster heads (which include beaks).
