The homestar is the star that the player's homeworld orbits. It is always a yellow star and contains five planets in no particular order:
- The player's T3 homeworld, which always has red spice and a ring system. While it usually has a green orbit, it is occasionally red or blue.
- A T0 moon which always orbits the homeworld and can have any type of spice. It can be any type of uninhabitable planet.
- A T0 planet, which most likely has yellow spice. It can be any type of uninhabitable planet.
- A T1, or more rarely, a T2 planet with no spice and a crashed ship. It usually has low temperature.
- A gas giant with no moon.
