Now, this wiki does need organising, and articles are not finished with, it might feel like there is nothing more add to them, but this doesn't mean they should be ignored! Even last year, the articles were given much more love than they have been given this year. I'm suggesting that for one week starting tomorrow, we give the articles the much needed attention they deserve again. Hopefully, by the end of the week, users will be interested in editing them, and will continue to do so for longer. Its not hard to go through the articles and see what needs organising or changing. I am not saying not to write fiction or go on blogs, please do so, and also don't put pressure on other users if you see them only editing blogs and fiction. Now, I'm not calling this year's users lazy (your interests and attitudes have simply changed, especially since the blogs) but many of the users last year and before that gave a lot more attention to the article mainspace, these include Zagorian, Poeringu, Oluapplayer, Morgoth, TimeMaster and a few others, but some of them are semi or even inactive this year. Some users have suggested splitting the wiki, but I tell you, it won't work, this year the community seems mostly interested in fiction and blogs and I admit I have been myself, and if the wiki was to split, the community would move straight over to the other and the original SporeWiki would fall to disrepair, I know this, I have seen other wiki's die myself. Also, this wiki has always had fanfic stuff (which co-existed quite nicely), this was created as a Spore fansite. Early last year, the wiki did the same thing, but then Spore GA was under everyones attention, and the articles were edited again, and we got an increase in users.

What needs doing?[]

Article project - A good idea.
Taxa reorganized - This is still not completed.
Articles requiring work
{{Replace image}} - Start finding articles with old, outdated images, remove them (but stick them in a gallery if you want), and upload a new image. Some articles still contain imagery from Spore 2005!
{{Cleanup}} - If you see this, then the article may have spelling/grammar that needs correcting.
Merging articles - There are still a lot of stub articles on this wiki. The Sims wiki, for example, focuses less on stubs, and instead merges them into one big article. If you see this template, the article may be a stub, or has outdated infomation that needs editing.

Candidates for deletion - Some of these have been waiting for a long time to be deleted, so I will go through these without mercy.

Great idea, but one week is barely enoughh to get started :P What we need is for people to focus more on the main namespace permanently. Whether they want to focus less on fiction/content to do that, or simply edit more is their own choice. This is a very good effort to get started though. I'll put it in the sitenotice.

Anything! A good place to start would be to go through the categories for articles needing images, expanding and so on, which I've provided a link above. If you see anything that an admin needs doing, just report it to one of us.

A great thing to do would be to check for typos and things that are speculation, or are just incorrect, etc. in important pages, such as Civilization stage (and the rest of the stages) and articles about games. —Preceding signed comment added by TimeMaster (talk • contribs) 19:39, July 19, 2010 (UTC)

Make sure you put this template on articles that need new images so then I'll be able to find them much easier. And also, I think the site notice for this should be made quite a bit bigger to make it look more important and have more people notice it.

This wikia does not cover or concern darkspore as it is a MMO game with no pernament content. This is a SPORE wikia and Darkspore isn't really spore. It's the Maxis version of Call of Duty.

SO the new skin should either be removed or we should have a choice as to what skin we would like to use. Don't suddenly force us to use a new skin we may not like.

I will NOT tolerate the SporeWiki being associated with Darkspore.

Agreed with above, I will not be editing any of my articles until the old skin returns either by default or as an option. My eyes cannot and will not put up with this visual massacre every time I want to check and proofread my fiction. Wrong, wrong and wrong again. Darkspore is an RPG, not an MMO. Also, is Spore hero really Spore? No, similar, but it's still part of the wiki. And no, it is nothing like Call of Duty. It is more like Diablo. Plus, it has got some things from Spore like the creature editor. SO, SporeWiki can keep Darkspore here.

Darkspore, while it is not exactly a Spore game, should be on SporeWiki. And you can change the color of your skin whenever you want, Ose just picked this color cause he thought it fit the website better. - Falco Punch--Elements are the essence of life! 04:18, July 24, 2010 (UTC)

Week Two[]

Well done, the mainspace does seem to have been given a bit more attention! However, just a bit more will be better, and the point is not to do this for one week only, only to "reboot" mainspace editing. So keep up the good work! However, after the reading this, I feel like a strict teacher congratulating a student, however, that is not what I mean.
