“Even in war, peace.”
- - Army Motto
Overview
The army is composed of Waptorian Biotics, who come in many diverse shapes and rates of intelligence, ranging from bestial to sapient. The smallest strains commonly serve as basic troops, while the largest strains breed fresh troops inside their bodies and act as transport. Connected by the Waptorian groupmind, each serves as part of the greater whole; individual life part of a greater superorganism.
The equipment of the Biotics is likewise organic. When worn by an Waptorian Biotic or an allied soldier, the equipment extends neural links to the wielder's skin. Waptorian weapons are known to grow their own, often amoeba-mike ammunition, thus having an unlimited amount of it. They are also known to vent automatically by releasing a pink cloud of steam. Waptorian organic combat suits allow excellent camouflage and cloaking abilities. They also heal the wearer at quite an fast rate. Bark armor and additional symbiotes are often worn over the suits.
Waptorians consider their Biotics full citizens, giving them equal rights as regular citizens. Yet, they often permanently live in massive military hives build beneath Waptorian cities.
Biotics possess a disturbingly friendly behavior, other chattering to each other even in the middle of battle. When needed to, however, they can be utterly and completely silent.
Packs are the Waptorian equivalent to the companies of other militaries. They are named packs because of their wolf-like way of hunting: they flank their victims while staying in the shadows, then suddenly strike to kill their shocked targets. Packs are divided into Cells, each of which is a fully independent unit that works in synergy with the other Cells of it's Pack.

Rangers are the main Biotic infantry of the Waptoria. Relatively simple as far as Biotics go, Rangers prefer to say in cover and focus down enemies from a distance. To this end, they are equipped with Trace Rifles, which fire a beam of tranquilising bacteria much like a laser. The beam grows stronger and more energetic the longer it is focussed on a specific target, whic combined with its pinpoint accuracy and fairly long range makes it useful aginst all types of infantry, no matter now armoured. Other than this, Rangers are equipped with knifefish-like symbiotes for melee and grendade-like symbiotes to flush enemies out of cover. | |||

Other
The main biological weapon to be sprayed or bombed upon enemies, this non-lethal drab green sludge renders victims unconscious for several days while simultaneously healing them of injuries. This mixture of liquids allows the Waptoria to easily subdue their foes, while ensuring that they don't suffer any lasting trauma in accordance with Waptorian philosophies. Biotics contain specialised symbiotes that make them immune to its tranquilising effects, though they still benefit from its healing factor. However, it needs to be remade for each new species it is used on, as a version which is effective on one species will in all likelihood not work on another. |
The aerial version of the Tanquilising Bile, these spores are shot over enemy fortifications in thick sporocysts that burst upon impact and release their contents into the enemy ranks were they quickly spread. The spores can take hold and develop into a mould that seeps Tranquilising Bile or sprout into a mushroom-like organism which releases more Sleeping Spores, depending on the circumstances. Like its liquid counterpart, it must be re-egineered for each new species it is used on and does not affect Biotics. Though not produced in as vast quanities as Tranquilising Bile, Sleep Spores are favored in urban or aerial combat where its airborn nature allows it to spread more effectively. |
Another very commonly used organism, Biomarkers are tiny, adhesive bacteria that can be shot at enemies to form a biological tracer. They can glow in the dark and release unique chemical trails that makes it easy for other Waptorian biotics to spot and/or track their target. They require a highly specialised procedure to be rid of, as to prevent a chase from being interrupted midway. Biomarkers do not have any harmful properties however and mosty remain in an inactive, nigh-undetectable state until required, so most people who have been marked are not even aware of it until it is too late. |
These bio-engineered bacteria are designed to render its target species docile and pacifistic if used in low amounts. Though the effect normally wears of after several months, the bacteria can easily be tweaked so its victims stay in their altered way of thought for life. In high amounts, it drugs enemies outright. The bacteria are able to spread trough water, air and even space alike, but need to be re-adapted for use against each newly encountered hostile species. |
These clouds of sizzling green vapor are in reality made up of countless metal-eating enzymes that cause weaponry and armor to rust in minutes. Unlike most other biological weapons, it is compatible with any known metals and thus must not be re-adapted for each new enemy species encountered, though it does not affect the organic armor worn by Biotics. |
This mixture of various microscopic organisms creates a thick dampening fog that billows around the battlefield, obscuring the vision and dulling the senses of any enemy who do not come equipped with the technology necessary to counteract it. As it works on almost any known species, it does not need to be redesigned for each use. Biotics come equipped with specialised symbiotes to see and hear trough it without any difficulty. |
