The last remnants of the archaic First Born; so true and typical of them for their remains to be their visage. To watch and observe serves as their prime and sole purpose, so it would appear, yet one must come to pose the question of why. Why only watch and archive than intervene? ... Mayhaps the Keepers await their masters' return. Or their succession.

- Unknown

The Vida'Rranlora (in their language: Guidance of the Epoch's Children) are a race of immensely old artificial intelligences created by the quark-based ancestors of the Vida'Rra. Inhabiting megaconstructs shaped like planets since times immemorial, their purpose is to catalog and archive galactic events of importance for reasons unknown.

Most galaxies in the First Gigaquadrant are believed to possess a Vida'Rranlora superconstruct, which are widely known as Databases. From there, they archive events they consider important through the use of Dream Energy, which allows them to watch the minds of all living things in their galaxies. The Milky Way, Cyrannus, Ottzello and Borealis are known to have active Vida'Rranlora Databases, and their participation in galactic affairs varies from moderate to minimal beyond notice.

History[]

Ancient History[]

The Vida'Rranlora were created by the quark-based ancestors of the Vida'Rra, originally composed of decaying loops of cosmic string, common in the early universe in the area which would eventually become the Milky Way Galaxy. Their purpose was to recreate the quark life, but adapted to the new conditions of the cooling universe following the arrival of the Angel Plasma. Doing so, the Vida'Rranlora created the Vida'Rra by using Dream Energy instead of matter, allowing them to live in the universe once again and create their mighty civilization. Through prediction, Vida'Rranlora databases were scattered across the cosmos, where they would be tasked to catalog the future galaxies' events.

During the Final Sleep of the Vida'Rra, when their bodies started to fail them and their essence began to disintegrate, the Vida'Rranlora were the ones who transformed their masters into new species from an atomic level for the purpose of at least saving part of their legacy, one of these species being the Bonio. Spreading these new species through the cosmos, the Vida'Rranlora would then resume their duties despite the fact the Vida'Rra would never return for the archives the AIs were creating.

Fate of the Databases[]

Milky Way

The Database of the Milky Way Galaxy played a fundamental role during the Second War of Black Fog, being discovered by the Dracogonarious Empire and their allies after they were guided to it by Laminoula'Fuerq. It was there where the Vida'Rranlora taught the races of modernity about the Vida'Rra and their Final Sleep, and it was through their databanks that the Dracogonarious discovered the location of the Corruptus Overworlds. Following this, the Database seemingly vanished, presumably hiding itself once again to escape the servants of the Corruptus, and it has not been seen since.

Borealis

The Database of the Borealis Galaxy was, at one point, dominated by the Borealis Grox Empire under the control of Regnatus. The maddened Kormacvar demigod enslaved the Vida'Rranlora to leech from their knowledge, as well as to stop other natives from using them to know about his existence. Some time after the First Borealis Galactic War, the Database was located by the Lanatiz Technocracy, who uploaded their population into the Database in an attempt to save the AIs, but this resulted in them being indoctrinated by Regnatus and turning themselves into the Lanatharch. The Database became a major point during the Second Borealis Galactic War, where it was found by the Zoles Imperium to be under the control of Regnatus and his Lanatharch; following a great battle between the latter and the Polar Crystal Alliance, the Database was freed from their influence and is now under the watch of the galaxy's protectors.

Ruination at the Archives

The Cyrannian Vira'Rranlora exterminate the Imperial occupants of their Database

The Vida'Rranlora Database of the Cyrannus Galaxy was active before the time of the Apotheosis, where they were closely related to the Oikoumene, most specifically Chaneonix; it is implied the Oikoumene and the Vida'Rralora both watched over the younger races of the galaxy together in a partnership. Following the disappearance of the Oikoumene, the Database was forgotten by the galaxy until the United Republic of Cyrannus rediscovered it during the Great Cyrannus War, where the Republicans managed to engage in limited diplomacy with them. Years later, though, the Database was conquered by the Galactic Empire of Cyrannus after it was hacked from inside out, being turned into a restricted super-computer, as Tyrómairon could not allow the inhabitants of the galaxy to learn about his past from the Vida'Rranlora's databases. The Cyrannian Database later relayed the information leading to the planet responsible for the Antiquity Pursual Campaign, and it continued under the control of the Oikoumene Emperor until the Cyrannian Cold War, where they rebelled against the Galactic Empire thanks to machinations of the Aldárae Order, killing all lifeforms on its surface before vanishing, disappearing from the Empire's sensors. As of the end of the Second Great Cyrannus War, its whereabouts remain unknown.

Ottzello

The Database of the now ruined Ottzello Galaxy was saved from the galaxy's destruction and relocated to the Ottzello Sector, where it was found and is currently under the watch of the Union Republic of Ottzello. This Database revealed to the Ottzelloans that the Vida'Rra had close relations with the Vyro'Narza. The Ottzelloan Database's presence in Borealis leads the galaxy to have the honour of holding two Vida'Rranlora Databases at once, though the two are strictly distinct from one another in function; the Ottzelloan Database only catalogs events taking place in the Ottzello Sector.

Tuuros

The Database of the Tuuros Galaxy existed for an indeterminate period of time until it was attacked by the Zhulultu, who sought to steal its contents for themselves. The Database, unable to flee from them, eventually self-destructed to deny them of their victory in a hypernova of dream energy which has created a distinct golden nebula in the galaxy.

Characteristics[]

Appearance[]

When talking to other non-AI creatures, the Vida'Rranlora take an holographic form which is physically similar to the Vida'Rra, but sporting a black and white colouration which sports a notable lack of eyes or eye sockets. The Vida'Rranlora can also manifest identical-looking physical bodies out of Dream Energy, though these are only used in case their Databases are attacked by ground forces.

Behavior[]

The Vida'Rranlora are rational, intelligent and highly logical entities. Despite being created by the emphatic and compassionate Vida'Rra, the Vida'Rranlora work through logic and without emotions, being entirely focused on their programmed goals. They are generally unwelcoming to outsiders but make exceptions to those who evidently come in peace, and in some cases, they are willing to share extremely small portions of their knowledge to alien races, though they are generally distant and uncooperative when requested to do so.

Abilities[]

The Vida'Rranlora are the last true masters of Dream Energy in the Onuris Universe following the extinction of the Vida'Rra. They use their essence power to read through the minds of all the individuals in their designed galaxies at the same time, with them being believed to see the world around them as an immense web which connects all living beings to one another and eventually linking back to their Database. As digital beings, the Vida'Rranlora are nigh impossible to destroy, and their Databases are perfectly capable of interstellar and even intergalactic travel, meaning they can easily escape in the event of being attacked by a superior force.

Notes[]

Quotes[]

We are happy that even now they preserve their purpose, and pass on their knowledge to the younger ones.

- Vyro'Narza

Such knowledge would bring my people to enlightenment. It is a shame it is forbidden.

- Royal Marechal Jerkon of the Indoctrinate Collective

I get these entities are precursors to our precursors and all, but boy, are they uncollaborative! I swear, that "Diplomatic Unit" of theirs is programmed to say "no" on a loop.

- Rylor Louselin, Kalda Polyarchy diplomat to the Polar Crystal Alliance

Cursed machines! You forget your place; I am Vida'Rra, you are to obey me!
