Incompreensible. This is what the younglings of the present say when they see a small bit of our technology. The Vida'Rra are the most ancient life in this universe, and it's technology is rivalled only by the mightest of the mightest. They sacrificed their own beings to secure that life would go on for another day. Everyone has forgotten of their existance, but be sure of one thing: they haven't forgotten you.

- Vida'Rranlora

The Vida'Rra (in their language: The First Born) were the very first lifeforms to exist in this universe (not counting supernatural creatures or deities who existed before the universe was formed). They were not, however, the first lifeforms to become sentient. The Vida'Rra possessed the power of controlling Thoi Themek, also known as Dream Energy.

The Vida'Rra are believed to have once been part of a group of lifeforms known as the Ultraterrestrials.

History

The Vidi'Rra have a complex history, divided into two different epochs of the universe.

The First Epoch

Demon plasma

Quark life.

The Vida'Rra evolved in a very different era of the universe, during the Quark epoch], between 10–12 seconds and 10–6 seconds after the Big Bang. It is a common misconception that earlier era's of reality were any less developed. At the time the universe contained high energy radiation, so hot that protons and neutrons would "melt". In the melting pot that was the universe, matter was instead a fluid of quarks and gluons, however, wherever defects in spacetime existed, there was gravitational attraction, and this lead to organized complexity. Although the epoch was fundamentally short in comparison to sentients of the cold stelliferous era, who's minds rely on slower processes of information, in the high energy environment of the superheated cosmos, entire evolutionary processes took place.

The Vida'Rra's perception, goals, technology and much else was completely alien to nearly all future civilizations in the colder, future universe. But the Vida'Rra at least built their own analogs of civilisation and technology. However, the Vida'Rra appeared right on the edge of the Quark epoch. The universe was already cooling off naturally due to entropy, but this process began to mysteriously accelerate, just like the universe was found to be accelerating in the future.

The acceleration was of course, caused by the Xhodocto themselves, in the form of demon plasma (see The Quest for Cosmospawn), a highly computational cloud of chaos. The Vida'Rra began to die horribly as the quarks and gluons of their own bodies began to combine into protons and neutrons, and eventually atomic nuclei. The Vida'Rra, knowing their doom created holograms, called the Vida'Rranlora, who were composed of decaying loops of cosmic string, common in the early universe. They waited...

The birth of stars

As solar radiation, with certain spectral lines which indicated metallicity began to be detected by the dormant holograms, as the solar energy was bending into a light cone around the cosmic strings, the Holograms activated and seeked planets to create a second generation of Vida'Rra. After 1 billion years, the Vida'Rra had returned to the universe, this time adapted to being made of the essence known as "Dream Energy".

Extinction

The Vida'Rra being destroyed by the Corruptus

After a long time of strive, the Vida'Rra eventually faced a new threat: The Corruptus. The entropic beasts of Shu'ulathoi swarmed the universe, controlling an energy that appeared to be the opposite of the Vida'Rra's composition. The Vida'Rra eventually ascended into Rainbow Snakes and defeated the Corruptus, at the cost of their lifes.

While the Vida'Rra species is extinct, many of their technologies, including the Vida'Rranlora, still exist scattered around the universe.

Characteristics

Vida'Rra

A Vida'Rra

Biology

The Vida'Rra were large, four armed creatures, vaguely bird-like. Each pair of hands represent their power, the flog-like hands representing the creation of worlds, and the scaly clawed hands representing their destruction by the hands of others. They have a pair of large, feathered wings and a large bony tail. They were between 3.5 and 4 meters tall and weighted around 275 kg.

The Vida'Rra were a unisexual species, meaning they only had one gender. They were composed of Thoi Themek, and suffered greatly when exposed to Entropic Energy.

Abilities

The Vida'Rra possessed the power of using Thoi Themek, the energy of the Realm of Dreams. They could use this energy to empower their abilities and weapons. This power also gave them the ability of seed life in sterile planets, the energy causing chemical reactons that resulted in the birth of cells.

When a large amount of Vida'Rra were together, they could alter space itself, lowering or increasing the distance between two objects on spacetime. The empire used this power to create new planets and sometimes even stars.

Society

Not much about their society is known, except that they had a religion where Shu'ulathoi was considered the devil. They were ruled by a emperor, who had "Sages" as his advisors. Vida'Rra artifacts hint that they may had worshipped the Vi'Navitum as a race of masters.

Technology

The Vida'Rra's technology was very advanced, giving them ability to cross millions of light years in a matter of seconds. Their military was not as advanced as the rest, as they rarely had wars due to their size and friendlyness. Vida'Rra technology is very rare, and is said to be beyond the compreention of most mortal races.

Planet Life

Planet Life was the homeworld of the Vida'Rra. It served as the nexus of their powers, as well as the home of millions of different species. In the War of Black Fog, this planet was almost totally destroyed by Shu'ulathoi, before the Vida'Rra captain and Carmetego managed to ward them off.

After the war ended, Planet Life disappeared. Some say that it was destroyed by Shu'ulathoi, but others think the planet may have been teleported to another plane of existance. Another, even worse theory claims that Planet Life might be the most recent Corruptus Overworld, as the one existing by the time of the war was destroyed by the Vida'Rra.
