Vertac Uniana is a Tezelteän male humanoid formerly serving the United Republic of Cyrannus before pledging himself loyal to the Galactic Empire of Cyrannus. To Imperial standards, he is quite the diplomat and rarely runs into a fight during his Republic service. This all changed with the Great Cyrannus War and the subsequent rise of the Empire.

Captain Uiana perished during the second battle of Ramgotheria in 2820.

Early History[]

Vertac and the Dawn in battle during the Great Cyrannus War

Born on the Tezelteän homeworld in a turbulent time for his people, slavers from the Syndicate often made runs on the planet kidnapping the citizens for use as hard labour or sell them as slaves. Uiana's entire family was killed by the Syndicate's bounty hunters leaving him to grow up in a cruel, unforgiving world. Finding himself captured and doing hard labour he was eventually saved by personnel of the United Republic of Cyrannus.

With the outbreak of the Second Galactic War, Vertac commandeered his own vessel, the Redemption-class Dawn though lost most of his crew during one of the battles. From that grim day, Vertac decided to use diplomacy first and rarely run into battles. This all changed with the outbreak of the Great Cyrannus War and the war with the Confederacy of Allied Systems. During the war he often found himself in battle.

Imperial Officer[]

Vertac facing Blazing Squadron

By the end of the war, Vertac witnissed the rise of the Galactic Empire of Cyrannus and joined the new organisation, supporting the Imperial Vision of Order and Peace and condemned those that remained with Apollo and fled. During his Imperial service, he assumed command of the Arquitens-class light cruiser New Dawn though retained his diplomatic virtues, one of the reasons he never rose in ranks according to some.

During the Escalation-stages of the Second Great Cyrannus War Uiana transported Imperial prisoner Janice Ross. On route his escort came under attack by the Resistance squadron Blazing Squadron who attempted to rescue Janice. Its commander, Raymus Oquoné boarded the New Dawn and broke free Janice.

In the air tunnel, Vertac managed to corner Raymus and his forces and activated the shock collar of Janice, who fell stunned to the ground forcing Raymus to retreat without her. Smiling, Uiana had Janice dragged back to her cell and informed Imperial command.

Later in the war, he was part of the fleet defending Ramgotheria in September 2820. During the battle he ordered his ship to cover the present Yurrus-class carrier. When the carrier took damage from the HRSS Arthrastral, Vertac attempted to draw fire from the Ramelzen Tirith-class. During the firing exchange one of the New Dawn's magazines was hit causing the ship to explode, ending the live of all onboard including that of captain Vertac Uiana.

Personality and Traits[]

Vertac Uiana is a proud and capable officer within the former URC and later the Galactic Empire of Cyrannus. A keen tactician and strategist he rather uses his diplomatic skills and believes to prevent battle instead of engaging in one. Vertac Uiana is above killing needlessly and rather captures or arrest his targets and question them for interrogation. He dislikes the practice of torture and as such truly hates the presence of Inquisitors or the Imperial Intelligence onboard his ship who often unnerve both him and his crew.
