In the five hundred years of its existence, the United Pekarian Federation sought a peaceful unity of all life in the galaxy. There have been incidents in which police actions were required, but it was the Lobsert Assault that finally drove the Federation in a force that sought destruction to its enemies on every front.
Provocation[]
The first contact with the Lobserts was not a pleasant one. The destruction of the Herrintious in orbit around Blacilofia led the Federation to establish the Lobsert Quarantine Zone, spanning a space of 35 parsecs. At first it was believed that the Lobserts were an unintelligent creature. That was proved wrong on 46 Yovember 5681. A strange ship entered the atmosphere of Riger-2. Without warning, it fired a neutrino graviton pulse that devastated the planet. All five million colonists were killed and the Federation detected the ship heading back into the Lobsert Quarantine Zone. The Federation knew what it had to do. With a unanimous vote in the Grand Assembly, the Federation went to war.
