It took many hours, but finally, the two found unity, if an uneasy one, with the Church of Spode, and both Elders and Counts swore their allegiance and souls to the Great father Spode from hence forth.

Despite, not many things changed. The Gardeili's Patron-Gods, for example, evolved into Angels of Spode himself, and the Targarous Spirits of the Skies and Earth took on a similar role as his manifestation within the realm of mortals. Despite the Missionaries' attempts, they refused to give away these false-ideals, and it was decided to simply let them hold onto their old ways, and mix them with the new ideals of Spode. This, combined with the Distance from the other, central realms of the Church of Spode, led the Gardeili-Targarous Pact to develop a very independent, borderline heretic outlook on Spode and his role, still loyal, but largely charged with their own way of doing things, separate from those of other worshippers. It was even believed with Radeissic influence, the two sides would abandon Spode once more and return to their barbarous religions, though, as of today, the two, despite no contact with the Church or it's successor states being maintained, still follow Spode, in it's modified form.

With the war over, both sides agreed to expand outward, encountering a variety of races they began to absorb into their hegemony, promising unity and strength together. However, in the end, they where pacified, and it was this inclusion that boosted their fleet abilities, combined with limited trade with the Church of Spode itself. The newly christened Unified Nations of Spode sent out various colonial fleets to other regions to the galaxy. History

The Conversion

The earliest history of the UNOS began in the early days of Mirus, between two races, called the Gardeili and the Targarous. Not much can be remembered about their history or ideals. The Gardeili where a people of philosophers, farmers and builders, while the Targarous where raiders, merchants and conquerors. Both had fought each other in a war neither could remember the cause of. It had begun over claims by both that a station built by the Multus Esse was theirs by right, both claiming to be creations of the mighty race. Their battle, however, was interrupted by the arrival of another empire drawn into their conflict. This empire, happened to be a missionary group sent by the Church of Spode. This group was drawn to Mirus for the chance to enlighten others to the true path and help them achieve peace and prosperity. A race had disgusted them with their barbarity and violence, but saw the two fighting before them as having a chance to redeem themselves. The Radeons leading the Missionary work offered to work with both sides to help them achieve peace. Seeing the advanced technology and power their ships held, and drawn by their message of enlightenment and unity, the Gardeili Basielii-Counts and Targarous Elders meet, and spoke with these extra-galactics.

It was even believed without Radeissic influence, the two sides would abandon Spode once more and return to their barbarous religions, though, as of today, the two, despite no contact with the Church or it's successor states being maintained, still follow Spode, in it's modified form.

With the war over, both sides agreed to expand outward, encountering a variety of races they began to absorb into their hegemony, promising unity and strength together. While certain races welcomed them, such as the all-female Perius and the short Utuno, others like the Kig'tar Pirate Clans resisted, and used their advanced fleet power to resist what they saw as Spodist aggression on their way of life. However, in the end, they where pacified, and it was this inclusion that boosted their fleet abilities, combined with limited trade with the Church of Spode itself. The newly christened Unified Nations of Spode sent out various colonial fleets to other regions to the galaxy. These groups found beings much like the Gardeili/Targarous/ and other members, who had evolved along different pathways, and had also converted to Spode, through the work of the Missionaries. The main two would be the Brotherhood of Spode, lead by a group of wise mystics, and the more conventional, pragmatic Unified Nations. The third group would become pawns to the Tarmealox Hierarchy, who convinced them that their brothers had been lead astray by the perversion of the Radeons, and that the Tarmealox knew the true path, and branded this group the Cult of Attzery, naming their empire after the Grox homeworld, whom the Tarmealox worshiped.

While trade was maintained, the Unified Nations and the Brotherhood found they where both too different to fully unify, the UNOS viewing the Brotherhood as too passive in their faith and ideals, and the Brotherhood seeing the UNOS as too primitive and warlike to truly find the peace promised among the Radeon Missionaries. The two, however, did not outright hat each, and, in fact, both where united not just by their genetic ancestry, but also by their place within the Church of Spode. The Unified Nations planted their banner in High Sanctuary, the very same installation where their kind where first created, and held many secrets about their ancestry that the UNOS where eager to unlock. Too far for the Cleriarchs that came to power later to care, the UNOS and Brotherhood maintained their spirit of independence and stubborn will, going on with their own business as the Church fell into decadence and decay, largely ignoring those of the heart land as broken from Spode and blinded by arrogance. As such, little care could be found when Jaharan ae-Zamarros took power and began his crusade, Gardeili Basielii, Targarous Elders, and other leaders largely ignoring the mad man, and largely ignored in turn.

Despite their believes that so long as they maintained their ideals, and never swayed to the same ideals their Vendespode kindred had fallen into, the UNOS where not perfect, nor where they immune to the predations of corruption and greed. Many Priests exercised decadence and corruption of their own, and while Gardeili feudal lords and Targarous Chieftains attempted to crack down on this, it never fully vanished. Such seeds laid the ground work for future issues the UNOS would face. Until that day, however, the UNOS was a powerful, if distant empire in Mirus, never drawn in by the rising power of Zarbania, nor the strange, bombastic Pictali, though border settlements conducted trade with both at times.
