Shock Trooper Battle

Native Stormtroopers often engage in quelling rebellions of their own kind.

The Second Imperium utilizes the same general military power and equipment that the Old Empire did, and that many of it's contemporizes call upon, though at a reduced scale, of course, given it's more limited power and populace compared to the Empire of ages past. The Army is divided into Sector Legions, answering to the Mandators that command the Sectors. Here, they command their armies with almost unlimited power and desire, cycling down to regiments and brigades under the command of Colonels and Generals.

Further helping them, are the Regiments of Stormtroopers, loyal to the Emperor himself, and given to the Armies to boast their fighting power and morale, and ability to destroy their enemies. As the Stormtrooper Corps are loyal to the Emperor, local Army Forces and Askari are not as much a threat in the case of revolt against Orestes. The Stormtrooper Corps include specialized Sniper detachments, Special Forces and other units to help truly bring their enemies to a halt.

Stormtroopers are considered the face of the Empire, used by both the Old Empire, as well as its various successor States and Warlord Kingdoms, to enforce their will and put down revolts in high value areas. Stormtroopers are indoctrinated with loyalty to the Emperor above all else, thus keeping the ability of Regional Commanders and overly ambitious minions from revoluting, the Stormtroopers, due to their indoctrination, instantly turning on any who turned against the Emperor. However, his death and the lack of a central government figure to act as the Emperor's Heir, meant the Stormtroopers largely divided based on who was commanding them at the time, with careful words and precision needed to keep them in line.

Years of fighting other Warlords and the New Republic's allies, drastically decreased the numbers of the Stormtroopers, and combined with the stinging defeat at Orbispira, many Warlords either created new units to replace them, or took Army Soldiers, dressed them in Stormtrooper gear, and sent them into battle, lowering the effectiveness of the Corps. Emperor Orestes did not have such issues, having enough Stormtroopers within his Kingdom to maintain their numbers and effectiveness at the same time. They are recruited the same way as Army Soldiers, though Stormtroopers are picked out for their loyalty, physical strength and zeal compared to the rest, already setting them as a step above their counterparts.

The Stormtrooper Corps ultimately answer to Orestes as Emperor, and Regional Governors and Armies only receive Legions and Units of them at his will alone. Like before, they do not appear capable of revoluting against Orestes, intensely loyal to him. They are cultivated from the same stock as Army Soldiers, but chosen for being stronger, more patriotic and zealous then the rest of their species. Many train on high Gravity Worlds to improve their strength. After all their enhancements, training and indoctrination, Stormtroopers are truly the best the Imperium has to offer.

Sub Units
  • Clone Stormtroopers - The Majority of Stormtroopers are made up of recruits, drawn from loyal worlds and such. Within the Old Empire, Cloning was moderated and controlled, as many did not trust such methods for soldiers. The Second Imperium, however, has no issue, and has a dozen or so Cloning Worlds dedicated to breeding and producing superior troops, even compared to other stormtroopers. Drawn from genetic stock of various sources, Clone Stormtroopers are reserved for elite units and legions that the Emperor deems important enough to receive them. Their training and indoctrination is more intense and longer then born Stormtroopers, and as such, are more loyal and steadfast, but far more willing to die for the cause.
  • Shock Troopers - Drawn exclusively from Mirusian natives and defectors, Shock Troopers serve in a role similar to the Imperial Emissaries of old, though are much less brutal. They are often deployed against rebelling populations of their own kind, as no one is as familiar with the intricacies of a species' culture more than that species themselves. Shock Troopers use this to their advantage where possible, and from binding duels to battlefield truces and false surrenders, no tool is beyond their reach. Aside from this, Shock Troopers are highly trained in the exploitation of local terrain, appearing as if from nowhere to overrun their foes.
Trivia
  • As always, based on the Stormtroopers from Star Wars, though burrowing heavily from Legends material on their training and abilities.

Imp Army Soldier
  • Weapons - Blaster Rifles
  • Defenses - Heavy Armor

Drawn from the general populations of the Imperium's worlds, taken from the worlds based on their population, loyalty and other factors, each world required to give certain troops to the Army Units. Army Soldiers are those who are not considered worthy enough to enter the Stormtrooper Corps, lacking the physical strength, mental fortitude, loyalty and intense devotion to the Emperor, instead being used as support forces. Army Soldiers are usually either the first wave attackers, or garrison troops after fighting has died down, Army Soldiers are generally viewed with less respect then standard Stormtrooper units, and have far less efficiency to boot. Many are conscripts, indentured into service or sent from Imperial prisons to bulk up numbers in the Armed forces.

Army Soldiers carry the same Blaster Rifles as the Stormtroopers, though are less accurate due to inferior training and second-hand equipment, though still capable fighters and combat units. Their armor is also effective, but they lack the durability of Stormtrooper armor. Due to this, Army Troopers are considered disposable by Commanders, lacking the conviction and iron discipline of Stormtrooper units, who are often seconded to Armies by the Emperor to improve fighting power in the Army Soldiers.

After the fall of the Emperor, the death of most leadership and the massive causalities taken during the Great Battle of Orbispira, left the remaining Warlords and pseudo-Emperors with little to call upon, and many Army Soldiers found themselves simply given Stormtrooper weapons and equipment to compensate, drastically lowering the effectiveness of the Stormtrooper Corps. Orestes did not suffer these setbacks, as most Mirusian Stormtroopers where left at home, allowing him to maintain Army Soldiers and Stormtroopers with equal numbers.

He did not, however, let his Army Soldiers go to waste, Orestes intensifying and renovating Soldier training Standards to further improve their abilities, though mindful to keep them below the Stormtroopers in terms of ability. Army Soldiers are the most common troops in all Imperial Remnant factions, or most, and are seen on numerous worlds not deemed important enough to host a Stormtrooper garrison.

  • Trivia - Imperial Army Soldiers are based on a mixture of the Army Troopers from Star Wars Disney Canon and Legends, a Corp of soldiers somehow worse then Stormtroopers in effectiveness, as well the infantry of the Imperial Guard.
  • Their helmets and basic appearance, while drawing from the Soldiers in Solo, also took inspiration heavily from the original Imperial Soldier model Cyrannian made seen here.

Support Infantry[]

  • Weapons - Sniper Rifles
  • Defenses - Light Armor, Shielding

Members of the Stormtrooper Corps selected for their fast reactions, hand-eye coordination and other factors, Scout Troopers are designed and trained to go ahead of the main armies, and execute forward recon and observation of enemy units and formations, as well as maintaining perimeter defenses, assassination of high-value targets at long range, using their superior aiming, precision training and ability to appear and disappear in the jungles and terrain of a world, even with their white armor. These skills and abilities cause their Psycho-Indoctrination and propaganda routing within their minds to be slightly different then Stormtroopers, so they can keep their skills and abilities sharp, but unfortunately leads to them being often egotistical, prideful and belligerent towards just about any other unit they are deployed with.

Despite being part of the Stormtrooper Corps, Scout Troopers have the odd distinction of being both with the Army Soldiers and the Corps itself, and while answering to the Emperor still, they also maintain perimeter defenses, patrols and other tasks for the Army, especially on worlds they occupy. Keeping watch in forward bunkers and outposts, and, notably, patrolling wilderness and territory on their Speederbikes, racing around worlds at high speed, using their extreme reflexes and attention to detail to avoid crashing and able to maintain breakneck speeds when others would be crashing or out of control.

Scout Troopers, however, due to their arrogance and pride, often make life miserable for other Stormtroopers and especially the Army Soldiers, who the Scout Troopers view as "less then nothing, mud caked on a boat". They will pull pranks and generally make a show of themselves to get a rise out of their counterparts and generally make them miserable. While the Emperor and Imperial Overseer could instill discipline in them that kept such incidents low except in the Outer Rim and Unknown Regions, Scout Troopers under Orestes' regime remain prideful and willful, and generally make life miserable for any around them. Imperial Commissar units often find themselves grouping Scout Troopers into their own barracks to at least keep other units from killing them.

  • Weapons - Blaster Rifles
  • Defenses - Armor, Shielding
  • Equipment - Stealth Gear

A specialized detachment of the Stormtrooper Corps, Shadow Troopers are more elite members whose duties go beyond simple frontline combat and battle. They are a stealthy blade inserted into their foes, an unseen phantom menace that can demoralize and destroy anything in their path. Chosen for careful decision making, an interest in demoralization and terrifying their foes, and shattering resistance to the core, Shadow Troopers are trained to operate on stealth missions, usually retrieving careful intel, gathering info on enemy formations and units from afar, and infiltrating into areas before a battle begins, watching with careful, measured movements. Then, once battle begins, the Shadow Troopers appear from eveywhere and nowhere at the same, appearing to attack their targets, then disappearing from sight once more.

While given similar armor and shielding to Stormtroopers, the teleportation devices used to jump from one location to another in battle could not be added, as it used too much energy to keep their stealth systems in place, and Shadow Troopers did not need it anyway. Their stealth armor is capable of not only similar durability and punishment to their Infantry Counterparts, they feature other abilities unique to them from the Stormtrooper corps, with sound dampening technology in their boots to block out sounds of them walking, ability to block out most scanning equipment and sensors.

While most important black ops operations are left to the likes of the Death Troopers or even the Purge Troopers, Shadow Troopers are fast support for frontline infantry, or have simpler jobs that require less black ops precision. Many are linked to Imperial Intelligence, due to their connection to the Phaedric Lord Blackhole/Crothal. Intelligence often uses platoons of Shadow Troopers to back up their field agents, these stealth troopers neutralizing heavier threats.

Heavy Infantry[]

Droids[]

  • Weapons - Blaster Rifles
  • Defenses - Light Armor

Built to compensate for the loss in manpower and material in the First War, the Second Imperium designed a specialized battle droid to bolster their numbers and give their garrisons and invading forces further numbers and disposable assets for the army to use in place of Stormtroopers. The IN-97 are constructed from specialized foundries loaned to the Imperium by the Corporate System Command, and are programmed to act as policing units, support for Imperial Army Units and heavy numbers and fire support to Imperial Stormtrooper units in battle. Designed to intimidate foes in battle, the IN-97 are designed to be inhuman, multiple red optical clusters in place of a face, and being tall, skeletal beings with silver and chrome armor. They speak in deep, booming voices, and when spotting targets, release a high-pitched, shrieking noise to disorient and terrify their victims in battle.

  • Weapons - Heavy Concussive Blasters
  • Defenses - Heavy Armor

  • Weapons - Heavy Repeater Blaster, Shoulder Canons
  • Defenses - Heavy Armor.

Elite Infantry[]

  • Weapons - Heavy Blaster Rifles
  • Defenses - Heavy Armor, Heavy Shielding

Above the Stormtroopers in terms of effectiveness, Death Troopers are a Black Ops unit who operate under Imperial Intelligence, and are made up of veteran Commandos from the Old Republic's military forces, and ended up reformed under the Empire. Death Troopers afterwards were Stormtrooper recruits who displayed unusual strength and mental fortitude, even for their Corp, and where chosen by recruiters to be assigned to the Death Troopers. Like the Stormtroopers, these figures are poorly understood and truly mysterious. While they are enhanced, they tower over their grunt counterparts, and their speech is completely alien to any that hear it. Soldiers' helmets and tactical readouts will translate what they say, but their language appears heavily coded and modified. Further, whatever enhancements they endure, has made them tower figures, standing a head taller then their normal species.

Once completed, Death Troopers became the symbol of Intelligence's strength. Such figures would annihilate whole bases, destroy whole platoons of Rebel and Republic soldiers, and prove useful in any operation. As part of both Intelligence and the Stormtrooper Corps, Death Troopers could receive tasks from both, and units were specifically designed to operate under one or the other, but could be switched. Hostage and Intel retrieval, elimination, sabotage and other tasks no normal Stormtrooper could accomplish. Their armor, while more durable then a Stormtrooper's, is sprayed with a special polymer that blocks and warps electromagnetic signals and detection equipment, making them invisible to any long and short ranged sensors.

Death Troopers share their name with another secret Military Project, known only to members of Intelligence and the Phaedric Order named "Project:Blackwing", with rumors abound that it was an attempt to revive Necrotic Tissue. While Blackwing was kept under tight control by the Imperial High Command, the rumors around it made it an interesting target of terror for the Empire and it's rivals. Rumors abound that Death Troopers may not be truly living beings under their armor, that their great strength and garbled speech hides something far more dangerous. Whatever the case, Death Troopers are terrifying forces to face, a squad of six able to crush most targets.

Raptor Trooper (Casual)
  • Weapons - Heavy Rifles, Vibro Bayonets
  • Defenses - Heavy Armor, Heavy Shielding.

Developed by Imperial Diadochi, and Warlord, Zhinjar to replace the Stormtroopers within his Kingdom, the Raptors are an elite division placed within the Stormtrooper Corps after Zhinjar's death and the dissolving of his Kingdom. Rather then dress Soldiers in Stormtrooper armor, Zhinjar instead crafted a whole new Infantry unit wholly his own to act as both his Royal Guards and his Stormtroopers. Though Stormtroopers were still used, the majority of his infantry were conscripts, Pirate Mercenaries and Imperial survivors of other Warlord armies he massed into human waves, Raptors became the face of his Empire. Far more skilled and deadly, even their skill could not stop the Fall of Zhinjar's Empire, and his death and the destruction of his Kingdom lead to the Raptors and his remaining equipment and ships fleeing into the other Warlord Empires.

The Raptors fled into any kingdom that would have them after his death, taking their intense training methods with them. Many were killed fighting to the death to avenge their Lord, and the few survivors made their way into other Imperial Warlord factions, including the Second Imperium. Grouped within the Stormtrooper Corps, Raptors form an elite, heavy hitting shock unit that will seemingly appear at random, and butcher vulnerable flanks, before vanishing. Raptors maintain their own traditions and rituals wholly separate from the zealous shock troopers of the Empire, making them a fearsome and mysterious foe.

Raptors in Zhinjar's Empire were a sign of his might and power, but were kept in low numbers to maintain effectiveness. Conscripts and Stormtroopers loyal to him would be deployed as his main army forces, but Zhinjar would keep a garrison (Approximately 36 troopers) on planets he deemed important, keeping local forces inline. In the Second Imperium, Raptors are kept on the capital world, and worlds Orestes deems important. He has not interfered with their training, ordering that any who do not meet their strict standards be killed, so the Raptors will remain an elite force. Like with the Purge Troopers, any who seek to learn more of their training methods are publicly executed.

Askari Corps[]

A subdivision of the Stormtrooper Corps, the Askari Corps are made up native alien forces that have chosen to join the Imperium, and have accepted Orestes as their Emperor. Including Imperial Mendel, Nokhoai and the Firrantio. Due to the agreements, they have their own forces, raised locally from their own troops, rather then being Imperial Army Troopers, with their most elite serving as a subset of the Stormtroopers. These elites are called Askari, and answer to the Emperor himself, similar to the Stormtroopers.
