We're going to blow that monstrosity off the face of the galaxy with the fury of the gods.

- President Apollo

The Battle of Cadian (Ianuaria 40, 15 NE) was the second major engagement of the Second Great Cyrannus War, fought a day after the Mou'Cyran Cataclysm. With the destruction of the Republic government and military command, Fleet Admiral Willelmus Cretacea took command of the Republic military and, coordinating with the newly appointed President Apollo, worked to destroy the Cyrannic Imperial Battlestation—the ultimate symbol of Imperial might.

A day after the destruction of Mou'Cyran and the Battle of the Ecimaex Wall, the Grand Republic Fleet arrived at Aldár to escort President Apollo, who had been chosen under the Continuity of Government Act, to safety. Commodore Helo Roslia, with information provided by a traitor within the Empire, provided the technical information of the Battlestation, while Director Aev Tempaere of Republic Strategic Intelligence provided the location of the Battlestation based on the origin point of the beam which destroyed the capital—the Cadian System, which had years previously been attacked by the Cognatus during the Intergalactic War.

When the Republic fleet arrived in the shadow of the Battlestation, Admiral Cretacea deployed three Phoenix-class supercarriers, the Spirit of Freedom, Flame of the Phoenix and Albionis, along the flank, where they utilised their interdiction fields to rock the Battlestation with intense gravitational waves. Simultaneously, the Auethnen Raptor, approached the station under cloak and docked. Kara Inviá, Aoirtae Valaeris and Vanikaimar made their way to the primary hypermatter generator, where they were confronted with the enigmatic Phaedric Lord Ruuvitharn. He retreated, however, when Agent Caranye Valaeris of Imperial Intelligence arrived, revealing that she and her artificial intelligence companion Eternal Enigma, had defected and provided the Republic with the information necessary to launch their attack.

The group planted explosives on the primary lithium ion oscillator, before making their escape. Simultaneously, the Republic fleet continued to distract the unsuspecting Imperials in orbit, commanded by Grand Mandator Taev Vosaetiur from the Battlestation's overbridge. Vosaetiur ordered the Battlestation's primary weapon to be recharged and directed toward Capricaerón and the fleets engaged in battle above the station, in spite of protestations from Grand Mandator Deoclet Caesarius. When the weapon began to fire, Inviá detonated the charges, which, when coupled with the damage caused by the interdiction waves, caused the beam to fire in on itself, destroying the station.

Cretacea's fleet promptly withdrew to Capricaerón, where the President delivered an address to rally the people of the Republic against the Empire. With the Empire's defeat at Cadian and the death of Grand Mandator Vosaetiur, the Empire's hold on the north eastern sectors of the Outer Rim began to weaken, prompting a wave of incursions by a vengeful Republic.
