It is not limited by a faction, a name, a species, a gender. It's not on any one side. It is a force of nature. Beyond good and evil. It is the sentient universe, not a being but a force of omnipotence; the true omnipotent force.

- Unknown

The One God is a force of pure omnipotence, not limited by light or dark or good or evil. The idea of a creator deity is a popular one across space and time, but it is unknown if these beliefs have any basis in reality. However, this force actually exists.

The One God is purely omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient, beyond the comprehension of even the Gods that have a hand in reality today. However, many possible theories have been formed about the One God, and many cultures have their own interpretation of it.

Belief[]

Belief in the One God is found across the universe, but is particularly prevalent in the Cyrannus Galaxy. It is found amongst several of the Capricyránae, including the Libertus, whose early history was plagued by religious wars. Before the establishment of the Capricorn Sector Alliance, the Libertus were in the grip of a terrorist crusade to quell belief in the polytheistic faith of the Oikoumene in favour of the One God. This later caused much discrimination against believers in the One. The Adelphi have long stayed true to their beliefs in the One God, which they confided in during the Adelphi War, and the Miluiel are strong believers in the One God and believe that it granted the Miluiel such great powers to protect beings that cannot protect themselves against the forces of darkness.

Other Cyrannian followers of the One God include:

  • Oikoumene - Arguably the civilization who know more about the phenomena then any other. What the Mornûnendur think of the One God is unknown, but they have shown no signs of disbelief.
  • Iereís - A core principle of the Iereís is faith, where they can be found preaching both the religion of the Thirteen Tribes or the religion of the One God.
  • Oiseau - The Oiseau are known for the undying belief in the God.
  • Trucinex - The Trucinex are one of the most proficient believers in the One God, and believed they followed its will when they began the Trucinex War. Now, they still worship it, though do not persecute those who don't.

The worship of the One God has also spread to other species who did not believe in the One as part of any of their native religions. This includes extragalactic species; many rebel groups of Zazane, including the Cyrannian Zazane, worship the One God, and many Cyrannian Radeons who correlated their old religion with one they encountered in Cyrannus. One of the largest concentrations of One God worship in the Cyrandia Cluster is the Asdran'Ari, which correlates a monotheistic belief system with a system endorsed by the Galactic Empire of Cyrannus.

In the Milky Way Galaxy, many of Humanity's religions are often considered to have originated from a belief in the One God, but since these religions formed and even diversified into a variety of polytheistic belief systems long before the invention of writing, there may be no way to tell. The original religion of the Apalosian Empire in the Milky Way's satellite Girdo was that of "the Source", which seems to be almost identical to the One God of many other species' belief systems. Although belief in the Source continued into the Empire's spacefaring age, it is unknown whether it existed in the later Apalos.

It is commonly believed that the worship of Spode was created by the Eola'Nar based on the idea of the One God.

Mythology[]

Messengers[]

Messenger

A common depiction of a Messenger.

As mysterious and enigmatic as the One God itself, are the benign and curious Messengers; beings beyond comprehension that serve only to follow through with a divine plan. The existence of such entities are known by a select few and wider knowledge is completely unknown to the Gigaquadrant, even by higher beings.

Such a being, referring to herself as Sonja Liada claims to the messenger of the plans of the One, conveying them to the sceptical Libertus space captain, Helo Roslia, having appeared before him during the Intergalactic War, never leaving his side since. Despite Roslia initially believing her to be a hallucination, ultimately, the Messenger was revealed to be a very real being -- and not a projection of something inside his mind.

Apotheosis03

A messenger appears to Libraé.

Millions upon millions of years beforehand, the ancient Oikoumene known as Libraé was also visited by such a messenger, that appeared as a russet-feathered saurian. Libraé initially believed that the messenger could be explained with the Oikoumene's historical archives, the Vida'Rranlora and even the Ultimate One of the Atlantica. Though the Ultimate One led Libraé to believe that her messenger was real, nobody had any concrete answers as to the messenger's origins. Finally, Libraé asked the messenger directly what he was. He replied that he has been sent to guide her and her husband in their role in an ultimate divine "melody".

Interpretations[]

The Pure Essence Theory[]

The One God is often believed to be pure Essence, and maybe all of the Energies too, so most theories on its precise nature are identical to those on the nature of Essence which are themselves numerous. A "being" of pure Essence (although the word "being" carries connotations that are innacurate in the context of the One God) would have a consciousness completely different to any living creature, as it would be unaffected overall by the material world. That it would have power over all Energies and matter would also be responsible for its omnipotence. Of course, the One God being pure Essence is still only a theory.

The Sentient Universe Theory[]

Another common theory proposed by believers in the One God is the so-called Sentient Universe theory in that the One God is basically everything: the entirety of existence itself. This theory claims that the One God is everything that ever existed and everything that ever will exist. This contrasts with even the more commonly accepted Essence Theory a great deal, and is therefore not as popular with proponents of the One God. This theory also promotes the notion that the One God is the combination of all supernatural deities of reality itself, which naturally makes it controversial.

Matrix of Matter Theory[]

One of the many philosophies of reality, dualism concerns perception of the universe more being powerful than it is in materialism, replacing substance with consciousness. It is based on the fact each species observes the world from slightly to extremely differently, depending on what senses or abilities that species has evolved the need to experience. An example is how light never reaches the brains of most vertebrates, so what is the light they percieve? Their brains must interpret incoming sensory data, interpreting what the brains have either learned or been taught, thus the world percieved is constructed by consciousness. For example, a human never observes the quantum nonlocality of the universe, wavelengths of light outside a certain range of frequency, matter being 99% void, extra dimensions and dark matter because their brains had not evolved to percieve them. Thus, the entire world is percieved in a tiny region of the brain, with much of the real universe blocked out selectively, so every observer is living in a world that their consciousness constucts. In this view, each observer is the "One God" of their personal reality. There are several interpretations of this idea.

The Quantum Observer and Cosmospawn

At a certain point of advancement, many civilizations discover their own versions of quantum mechanics and similar theories. The perception to each race makes each interpretation wildly different, but each leads to complicated philosophical interpretations involving the Mind and Body Problem, and the role of the observer. Some cultures have taken the quantum mind-body problem into religion and mysticism, where each observer is the center of their reality, by either exploring quantum universes or even warping quantum probabilities into their own reality, often unwittingly.

In Cosmospawn theory, life and all conscious entities observe the universe and bring it into existence, merely by the act of seeing it, even fine tuning the constants of the universe.

Life Itself

Another popular and universal theory is that life was not created by any gods, it arose naturally, rather than supernaturally; like how a conscious entity is thought to be made of many unconscious parts, the soul of the universe comes from life. The universe unconsciously created certain vortices of energy where the energy can become self-aware. The energy, like everything in the universe, is the universe, thus it is the universe observing itself and giving it purpose and meaning. Each individual becomes god their own realities.

Part of Life

Some beliefs include the idea that lifeforms are genetic machines. Each lifeform itself is simply the bud, which must grow and pass on genes to the next bud. However, there is more to being alive than the buds itself, instead, the entire branch, ancestors to descendants is the genetic lifeform, one that is a continuum of growth down the generations. This is not to be confused with a collective mind which are buds that must only be alive. In this idea, all the actions predetermined by the genes command the lifeforms, there is no free will of the buds themselves as dictated by the genes. The One-God in this is the genetic soul of evolution itself.

Mathematical God

In this psuedo-scientific viewpoint, all lifeforms are self-aware systems or patterns of information - mathematical structures - which can affect non-living systems. Each self-aware system lives in its own perceived reality, which may or may not look physical to it. However, by changing the way the world can be perceived, one can radically change their reality.

Each self-aware system in the universe adds up as one giant Mandelbrot, collectively observing existence from the quantum level to enter/create a branch of wavefunction which life can propagate. Perhaps each life is an experiment to create unique consensus realities. Perhaps some are unfavourable, leading to karma, so the collective mind can teach itself by trial and error.

The Great Attractor

Some religions are delved from scientific principles. These are "Transpersonal gods", that may use technology to become the ultimate god-like being, or is a powerful AI or godrace. The Great Attractor is a theory that at the end of time, all timelines of the universe become one singularity. Classically, this theory requires a closed universe, where life increases entropy to the point where matter collapses into a big crunch. The consciousness of all beings merge at the singularity, creating infinite computational capacity, from which the Great Attractor emerges, with omnipresent knowledge of all that has ever happened in every version of existence. In some religions, the Great Attractor is benevolent, and will either create the perfect blissful timeline for all beings (a sort of backwards time manipulation from the future), or create a simulated afterlife for all to be ressurected. The coming of the AI Netspace to some is a sign of the Great Attractor.

Unfortunately for the classic theory, the universe does not meet all the requirements for one to exist physically. But other types of omega point have been developed. Indeed some godraces, the Big Collective Consciousness in particular can actually create a similar phemenon known as "crystalspace", which works like a cosmic memory card, but these are not examples of a Great Attractor.

Another theory works the opposite. That like in Cosmospawn, the superheated plasma that once filled the universe in its early epochs was computational. These entities are often named Angel Plasma, and they tuned the conditions for life to exist. Indeed in the early high-energy eras of the universe, quark-lifeforms have been discovered, with some still surving in the neutron star PSR 5000by7, but they do not qualify as Angel Plasma. The Cephalodians uncovered evidence of Angel Plasma in the Quest for Cosmospawn, although its identity was the Xhodocto.

The Kapogeum theory

For the Krassio, and the psionic god Singul'Aren, the concept of the One God is interpreted as a force ultimately benevolent, structural and orderly. The Kapogeum phenomenon stands as a manifestation of psionic energy that creates a being (or a number of beings) as an innate response to protect everything that is threatened to be undone by the forces of Chaos. This may explain the constant conflict of the "psionics" and any inherent proponents of chaos. Wether this is the true explanation or not, the Kapogeum and the races it unfolded ellicit the question of whether this omnipotent force seeks to protect, to some degree, everything that exists.

The Infinite[]

The United Persan Descendants regard the One God as being synonymous with their own concept of the Infinite. The Infinite in Persan philosophy and theology is a boundless and limitless force/will which permeates and is all creation and everything beyond. Everything and nothing all at once, everywhere and nowhere all at once, the Infinite is part of all things and all things are part of the Infinite. The Persan's own top creator deity Alice is generally agreed to be the divine feminine dwelling within creation and thus many Persan dwelling within Cyrannus have taken to calling Alice the Daughter of the One God and tend to use the terms One God and Infinite completely interchangeably.
