The lives of us mortals in this place are always hanging in the balance of much greater entities. We are often seen as a virus or a commodity to be used or removed. To be challenged, and in the more recent years, it seems now that we 'mortals' as they say are fighting back at the powers that be. But not all powers are interested in using us in that particular fashion. Some of them like to feed upon us. Everything that is set into motion in this universe - a method of sustenance for an all-consuming entity. Death.

- Unknown

Maktansavansarín, also known as Maktanshatin is the first and foremost powerful force of the Xi'Arazulha and is the Essential God of Death Energy. With a forever increasing desire and thirst for all energy in the universe, Maktanshatin's insatiable hunger is conducive to the cessation of all that exists around him. One of the most abominable and abhorrent entities to exist, Maktanshatin's service under the Dominion of the Xhodocto grants the civilisation the terrifying advantage of the Xi'Arazulha's power.

History

What is now known as Maktanshatin was originally a significant fragment of the entity known as Vi'Naherza, the Essential God of Life Energy. In time immemorial, long before the propagation of this universe, the Xhodocto had made their decision on conducting an onslaught on the Vi'Navitum, corrupting many of them into the dark entities known as the Xi'Arazulha. According to myth, Maktanshatin was created out of Angazhar personally tearing the heart out of Vi'Naherza, and sculpting it into the corrupted god. By doing so, Angazhar had caused the realm of Erratsactum to split, and the corrupted half had been allowed to drift away and fester in its evil, becoming Shard.

Owing his very existence and independent thought to Angazhar, Maktanshatin had swore fealty to the Xhodocto almost immediately after his creation. Most of the Xi'Arazulha had come to accept and have their minds twisted by Angazhar's corruption, and those who did so chose to follow Maktanshatin as they once did Vi'Naherza. Some of them remained hesitant to lead, and Aknatazán, originally one of Vi'Naherza's 'sons' (and now a 'son' of Maktanshatin) reluctantly sided with the Xhodocto also.

Many ages passed as the Xi'Arazulha and Vi'Navitum waged war - the two godraces locked in an eternal conflict constructed by Angazhar for his amusement. However, the Vi'Navitum eventually gained the upper hand, and Maktanshatin was driven back to Shard to recuperate, as the Vi'Navitum were beginning to detrimentally affect their state of being. At this time, Aknatazán chose to defect and rebel against Maktanshatin, and almost half of the Xi'Arazulha then chose to follow him, however, they did so by hiding and reincarnating as Kicath, eventually coming to forget themselves over the millennia.

Maktanshatin laid dormant for over four hundred thousand years - until, by Zargoth's own volition, beseeched Maktanshatin's assistance to destroy the Vyro'Narza in the Second Borealis Galactic War. Though Maktanshatin half-heartedly agreed, he chose this as an opportune time to regain his power, slowly devouring stars and planets in the Borealis Galaxy. The Xi'Arazulha were eventually driven out of the Borealis Galaxy, though they remain a strong presence in the Dominion of the Xhodocto, where Maktanshatin serves.

Characteristics

Appearance

Maktanshatin appears similarly to that of a Xi'Arazulha, though he is of greater and more muscular stature and bears four arms rather than two. His skin is described as hard and as black as obsidian, and frequently a strange heart beat pulses a reddened light through the niches and cracks in his flesh-like shell. The horns upon his head are much greater in size to denote his authority and status within the Xi'Arazulha, and so is the same with his tail. An aura of darkness follows him wherever he moves, and his voice is usually described as something similar to the sound of lightning splitting the ground.

Personality

As the ancient embodiment of death, Maktanshatin is without compassion or mercy. He remains as perhaps the most belligerent of all Essential Gods disregarding that of the Xhodocto, and has an almost foolhardy attitude towards contemplating the invasion of lower planes of existence. Maktanshatin additionally has no regard for either the lives of mortals or the lives of other Essentials, believing that all energy sources are to the Xi'Arazulha's benefit for consumption. He is subservient to the Xhodocto however, and for a trade of his own existence to his servitude to the Dominion, the Xhodocto 'feed' him and the Xi'Arazulha as to deter them from waging war against other Essentials.

Abilities

Maktanshatin is of the same order of beings as the Essential Gods and ultimately is a being beyond mortal comprehension. An all consuming and unstoppable force of destruction and death, Maktanshatin's very presence saps the life out of any source of energy and matter - entire solar systems light years around him can instantaneously die when he is present. Dependent on how much he feeds, Maktanshatin can equally destroy of his own accord, and with the Xhodocto's blessing upon him, can call upon a limitless amount of power to destroy whatever he pleases. He like all other Xi'Arazulha however, are adverse to Life Energy, which can overwhelm his senses in immense quantities.

Powerful. Would be more helpful if he was more of a negotiator. That is, if he was willing to negotiate at all.
