The Legatus Twenty-First Task Force was a task force within the Legatus Navy that participated in numerous encounters with dissident forces within the Space in Between and beyond under command of captain Ciena Dunedin since 2850. The task force worked often together with Task Force 22.
Description[]
The Legatus Twenty-First Task Force was an anti-insurgency task force within the Legatus Navy, responsible for eliminating dissident and rebellious activity among the Legatus' holdings within the Space in Between and beyond. It boasted a primary flagship under overall command of captain Ciena Dunedin after her return, including her red marking colored command ship, the Krakana-class star cruiser LSC Cyrandia. The task force also had a Yurrus-class light carrier, the LCC Eire and was assigned and supported by three Gozanti-class cruisers, LTC 023, LTC 024 and LTC 025. At a smaller scale the twenty-second was equipped with numerous ASP-V and ASP-D starfighters as well as numerous Sentry-class and Stalker-class transport shuttles. In addition it also featured various Stutgard-class assault dropships.
History[]
With an increase of dissident and rebellious activity within the Space in Between, task force 21 was formed in 2830 and dispatched from Boreas to deal with the situation and to track and hunt down the parties involved that caused so much trouble. It was assigned to support Task Force 22 in its hunt for rebellious acitivity in the Space in Between and quickly respond to dissident acitivties as the 21st had a larger complement of fighters available. The task force was assigned to support the LSC Cyrandia, named for the Cyrandia Cluster and to mock the former Cyrandia Alliance members. In additon, the ship represented the clear sign by the Legatus they were a power to recognise and were one of the major factions within the Cluster. As such, the ship could oftne be found in combat and was seen as a high-target by anti-Legatus forces.
Captain Ciena Dunedin assumed command of the 21st shortly after her promotoin and return from her Harakaze Exploits.
