The days and history of the first High King are shrouded in myth and legend, and few say for certain whether he existed for real or was merely a half-truth legend bred by the Clans to give them something to rally behind, and to set up the laws of their High Kings by the Clan Leaders and Draiothe Priests that lead their people. The legends state Great Kullihain first arose the son of a blacksmith, and would arise to lead his people after a raid by the Three Kingdoms. These ancient lands were ruled by tyrants, during what was called the Age of Woe, and were said to have, in their decadence, hatred and megalomania, divided and turned the people against each other in their desperate attempts to keep power. The Kulaung, divided by petty divisions of eye color, claw length and other foolish things, fell prey to the lies of the Three Tyrants, and it was ancient Kullihain that, with the unity he forged among the Clans of the Mountains, rivers, oceans and plains, had amassed a following and, with his mighty rune axe, carved a path through the armies of the Three tyrants, so possessed of rage, he was said to become "Warp-Spasmed", twisted in body and burning with literal rage, killing 10 warriors with a swipe of his hand, but terrifying his own warriors as a result.

The Kulaung known as Kullihain, and by his various titles as The First high King, Breaker of Dragons, Unifier of Clans and the "Warp-Spasmed" by the other Warriors under his court, was the first figure to unify the Kulaung Clans, having many other great victories to his name, including the Slaying of the Three Tyrants, the Taming of the Nyrosaurids, and bringing peace and prosperity to all the Clans and Tribes of Eire in the ancient times. It was his example that would inspire the Kulaung and their allied species for many years after, and he would remain a figure of legend and inspiration to leaders, warriors, poets, scientists and all others. Despite this, he was also a figure to be feared, his upbringing making him ruthless in regards to those he deemed "undeserving" of their wealth and power, and prone to brutality and savagery, as well having possessed of legendary rage that few other beings could equal on the battlefield. It was said that, when he grew old, he refused to die, simply too enraged, and left for the mountains to continue fighting, even if he had to fight the spirits of death themselves.

Kullihain, or a figure claiming to be him, as however, appeared again in the modern age. In the times of horrific Darkling attacks, Grox invasions and other threats, a figure dressed in White armor and green robes has appeared, mysteriously arriving among the armies of the Kulaung and their allies in siege and battle, and fighting amongst them against the strongest foes, while giving his advise to the leaders and others who will hear and heed him. Otherwise, he will disappear from the mysterious lands he came, though not without emptying the alcohol and brewery stores his comrades have, and disappear, only to appear mere minutes later on another battlefield, in another galaxy or world without a hint of his arrival.

History

Early History

Finally, after decades of chasing down the cowards, he fought each in their burning cities, and cleaved them apart with his axe, brutally tearing down their courts and castles of decadence, and setting the people free from their chains. To his followers, once the battles were done and the planet at peace, he asked only that they treat one another as equals from now on, and chose a leader only when time called upon it. To rely on Lords and Kings always would lead to control and tyrants once more.

With that, he simply left for home, as the Clans settled into a peaceful existence, free of war, drought, famine and misery. Though many of the more ambitious Clans tried to rouse him, to use him to unite their people once more into a great empire, he simply ignored them. They had no need for empires. There was simply the Gods, and their peaceful existence within the world of Eire. As such, he merely spent his days in peace, forging fine jewelry for any that meet him, and meditating to himself.

Kullihain's peaceful meditation and days of peace were interrupted by the Nyrosaurs, the massive reptiles that had become feral and aggressive, targeting the Kulaung for murder and bloodshed. Called forth it is said by visions from the Mother Goddess Zaraturai and Kadaii Hoorangiir, Kullihain took up his axe, and fought every Nyrosaur that challenged him, until the oldest Nyrosaur in the world, known as The Storm Chieftain, arose from the earth, hissing and roaring so loud, the warriors around Kullihain were liquefied by the force of it's roar. Kullihain shrugged off every attack, and fought the mountain-sized beast until his axe split it's chest apart, and threw his war spear into it's heart.

After this great beast was slain, the Nyrosaurs retreated into the oceans, and Kullihain and his people went into their holds, drinking much and feasting for days, before they grew tired and left for home. Months would pass, many celebrating Kullihain for years, but, in time, he expressed a growing weariness of everything. He worried his death would come soon, and as such, the legendary Blacksmith and Warrior declared he would go into the mountains, and find anything worth fighting there, and, if he could not do that, would take on the spirits of death and the afterlife. With that, he disappeared, into the snow-packed mountains, and seemingly vanished form history, all but a legend.

There are many among the Mendel Clans that, even today, cannot decide if Kullihain was indeed a real figure or some amalgamation of various figures, leaders and rebels that arose, combined with Mendel perceptions and attitudes on what a leader ought to be to them, as well as to explain from an early age why their High Kings and leaders followed certain customs. For whatever the case, Kullihain has entered into legend as a figure all seek to emulate and follow his example as a trusted leader, compassionate chief, steady forge-hand and keen-eyed poet, among other things to replicate. Rather then try to return to an olden, forgotten day, most Mendel simply view him the same as an older brother of sorts, rather then a practically deified ruler to return to.

The Wondering Warrior

Millennia would pass into the pages of history, the Mendel rising up, in the First Kulaung Empire, before falling into ruin, with their current Mendel Pact being the latest in a long line of movements, kingdoms and groupings meant to protect and achieve Mendel interests. Though civil wars, strife and other problems would arise and gripe the Pact, the Mendel Pact has remained strong and capable of surviving these threats and onslaughts without falling or collapsing, a credit to the Mendel, in spite of their continued temper and surliness. Throughout every war, a figure, however, always appears, fighting for his people in battles would seem lost to even the greatest strategist. This warrior, adorned in ancient armor and yielding a magic axe, appears to carve through his foes and inspires almost legendary levels of fury and zeal in his people when they view him.

Few warriors can seemingly stand-up to him. The Zarbanian Knights and military forces are cut down, regardless of what energy blades or Plasma Canons they bring to bear against him. The hideous mutants and foul demons of the Darklings are slaughtered without much ado, and the worst of the worst, the blasted traitors of Dead Watch, the Thrice-Damned Traitors of the Clans, fall like paper to this warrior's axe. Even in far away Cyrannus, this warrior appears, hacking through everything from Stomrtroopers to Imperial Battle Droids, and appearing only in the worst situations to lead his people to victory, then, once battle is finished, emptying their brandy and other alcohol stores, and leaving, not a trace of him to be found or a ship.

So powerful is this figure in white that many claim is the blessed reincarnation of Kullihain himself, others, that he is a powerful warrior simply using the imagery of the First High King to inspire his people and whip them into a fury. Whatever the figure is, none can say for sure, for he appears and disappears without so much as a warning or a horn-blow, appearing and vanishing like a snowstorm.

Traits

Personality

The figure of the Pale-Slayer, is a stoic and focused figure of vengeance and rage, bound within his white armor, and seeking only the destruction of his foes, and to deliver those that need him most to victory and freedom. He rarely speaks, only stopping to celebrate, drink heavily and guzzle down all the alcohol an army can store, before leaving for another battlefield. Despite this taciturn, stoic nature, he can be surprisingly intelligent and well-spoken, reciting poetry and war-songs with others alongside him, giving advise to certain warriors about their paths in life and their careers outside of battle, and will even give certain honorable foes advise and the chance to stand up to him. Against traitors to his people, those in Dead Watch and other twisted societies and movements that act as little more then pirates, marauders and barbarians looking for thrill and slaughter, he is even more direct, simply slaughtering them by the hundreds, and leaving nothing for broken bodies and scattered limbs for the scavengers. Even those that surrender can expect nothing but his axe, for the mysterious warrior pays their treachery and war-crimes back, one body of blood spilled at a time.
