The Call of war is strong, and empowering, but it is the call of the dead and dying.

- Jurisa

Jurisa is a high-ranking assassin, bodyguard, and, unknown to herself and most within his social circle, the daughter of Sorcerer-Prophet Crothal the Shadowspawn. Due to his believes in the place of the Sorcerers of Rathan and their goals and practices, he felt his daughter was counter to his own goals of destruction, and was a testament to creation instead. For this reason, Crothal at first wanted to do away with his daughter, before finally taking her as an infant from her mother. Crothal hide the secrets of her birth and parents from her, and raised her to be his personal assassin, honing her skills in murder and killing to destroy all of his enemies.

Jurisa was raised among the other young acolytes and Sorcerer-Champions, with no knowledge of who her family was, and was trained by Crothal's various Sorcerers that followed him. They too, hand no knowledge of her parentage, but were told by Crothal to train and push her harder then all the rest, as he desired for her to rise to become one of his personal assassins.

Jurisa has risen to become one of the finest warriors and servants of the Conclave that the Rathanii can all upon, driven by perfection and hatred to attain higher and higher skills, regardless of what holds her back.

History

Birth

Jurisa was conceived by one of Crothal's mistresses and concubines, a common practice for the Sorcerers who desired status symbols and signs of power, though sexual gratification held little actual pleasure for them, other then, perhaps, to exercise their power dynamics over another in more ways then one. Whatever the case maybe, Crothal fathered a child with one of his mistresses, and came to immediately loath the mistake. Though he wished to be done with the child before it could be born, he was prevented from doing by Loremaster Xoltethip the Blessed, of the Lorekeepers, whose job was not only to see to the records and tomes of the Sorcerers, but oversee their familial records and such. A Sorcerer-Lord could not expunge his child, and any attempts to do so would violate protocol. Though any public records and such were expunged, the Lorekeepers kept many sealed records regarding Crothal's relations with the future Jurisa.

Jurisa was born a few months later, and given her name by her mother. Jurisa was taken into the Sorcerers Covens, for orphans and such of incredible power, and her mother disappeared, no trace of her to be found, even by the Lorekeepers. Xoltethip guessed it was one last spiteful attempt by Crothal to get back at them for stopping the abortion of his daughter.

As a follower of the White Sun Path, Crothal held that destruction was the first and only goal of the Sorcerers of Rathan, not a mode of existence that waxed and waned. He desired to annihilate all life, and the birth of his daughter represented the creation of something new, which violated his tenets. He, as such, had no love for her, and when he chose his future assassins, warriors and enforcers from among the "pups" of the Coven, he sought to push her further, as her hatred that would drive her would be much more powerful then any love or devotion for a parent.

Jurisa herself, at the age of five, would begin her training, being conscripted into the academies and temples of the Sorcerer-Lords to train alongside the others, her skills mostly centering around assassination, swordsmanship and certain Dark Alchemy powers. Though a skilled warrior, Jurisa was pushed constantly by her teachers, always being pushed to do far better then what was expected for most other Acolytes. Crothal oversaw such things from a far, but did not stop this treatment, but encouraged it. If she was to make up to the sin of being created, she would have to be the finest at destruction.

Training at Krassii

Jurisa would, after some time within Rathanii space, journey with her father and a large number of his followers to the shadowy world of Krassii, where he would seek to meditate on the meanings of Dark Alchemy and his powers of time and space. There, Jurisa and the strongest of his young students would seek to improve their strength and powers to never before seen levels, and complete whatever training was left on the dark and shadowy world. Jurisa felt the call of the world strongly within her, and devoted herself to the remaining teachings, so as not to succumb to it's pull.

During this time, the Warlock-King Bahadur Cethannia, interested in Crothal's abilities, would visit, bringing his new born daughter, Kirata with, and having her train for the few weeks they visited, and would have her engage in sparing matches and duels with Jurisa to taste their skills. Though Kirata was a superior Dark Alchemy user and physically the superior, Jurisa had better skill with the blade, though their matches lead to a strong respect for one another. During this time, Bahadur and Crothal would hold lengthy debates out of earshot of their daughters, over the role of children in the lives of their parents and how best to use them. Crothal held no respect for Bahadur's view, pointing out various times when the Gigaquadrantic Hegemony's Emperors fell to the blade, poison or machinations of their child.

When her training was complete, Crothal sent her to complete an assassination mission on his behalf, to remove a scientist in an unknown empire that was dappling with time stopping technology. Though such a race should've been reported to the Hegemony, Crothal only cared that they were intruding on his domain of expertise.

Assassination Mission and further exploits

Jurisa arrived at the world in question, and spent the next several weeks looking at the species in question, who, did to the spacial anomalies of the area they inhabited, not only were overlooked by the Hegemony, but could not be detected. While in a few years they could become full members or be rendered extinct did not matter to Jurisa. She had her target, and set out to accomplish her goals. She spent weeks analyzing their society and structure, how they carried themselves, and every little detail she could absorb to better plan her strike.

Finally, with nothing in her way, she infiltrated the man's apartment, and crushed his windpipe, before destroying all of his research papers by lighting his room aflame with Dark Alchemy powers. After, she left the area, retreating to her ship to report back to her master. Though it took a few more days then usual due to the anomalies, her ship made it back, and she reported her success. Although Crothal thought she had delayed to buy time for an excuse for her failures, Jurisa show her master the scientists' hands and eye she had extracted, and presented them to her master. Pleased with her progress, Crothal awarded her the rank of Sorcerer-Champion, and gave her permission to carry out missions of his and the Ruler of the Rathanii's choosing, so long as she maintained her skills.

After she would carry out numerous missions for Crothal, sometimes removing rivals, sometimes thwarting assassins, sometimes challenging other warriors to battle. Throughout, she never guessed which of the Sorcerer-Lords she learned under was her father, though knew it had to be one of them.

During the Xeranbha invasion, Kirata Cethannia would order the evacuation of all Rathanii, except for a few rebellious members, into the Prime Universe, Jurisa making her escape with her father and most of his servants. As he traveled to the outer universe, to see to the state of universal affairs and politics, Jurisa would remain to guard his palace and holdings in his place.

After his joining in the Empire, Crothal would call many of his close attendants and servants, including Jurisa, to his personal quarters in Antemurale, and served his needs there, now acting as one of many assassins within the Empire, in the service of "Lord Blackhole", a title her father had taken, and gaining the attention of his newest student, an Imperial Inquisitor named Savis Crevix.

After his abduction and beginning of his reeducation program on Maldor to create a new generation of Dark Siders loyal to the Emperor, Jurisa and Crevix traveled there, attending to their master's will and desires, and furthering their training.

Traits

Personality

Jurisa is a silent, methodical character, cold and stoic to all that see her. She feels little need to impress anyone, and as such, speaks a in a blunt, often callous manner towards those that deal with her. It is only in missions of importance, tasked to her by her master and her Witch-Queen and friend, does she adopt a persona to fit with the situation and to get close to her victim. She is incredibly patient, crafting an identity, and becoming absorbed into it to get close to her targets, often implanting herself within a society weeks in advance to ingratiate herself with many so her cover is all the more absorbed in others minds.

Jurisa does not care for Lord Crothal, though serves him loyally for a purpose in life. The refusal on his part to tell of her mother or father, and of her past angers her to no end, and it is this drive that fuels her rage and anger in battle. Still, her loyalty to Kirata is enough to keep her from striking down her, unknown to her, father and ripping the answers from his dying breaths.

Though cold, she delights mostly in testing her blade against others, and will show respect for the brave and skilled in war, while cutting those to ribbons that she feels are unworthy.

Appearance

Jurisa, bears some resemblance to her father, though based on the fact she is not an exact match for his race, many believe she is a hybrid. She is covered in red feathers and scales throughout her body, and black tattoos burned into her flesh and body, giving her a truly demonic appearance. Her eyes are grey in color, and glow like the embers of a dying fire. She is regarded as beautiful, in a surreal sort of way, moving with unnatural grace.

Abilities

Jurisa is experienced in many of the arts and powers used by the Rathanii, including limited prophecy, to exude lightning and hellfire from her hands and fingers, to even control stone and earth beneath her feet, and disappear into shadows. She has, thanks to training from her father, a corrupted from of his time stop, which requires physical contact, in which she will punch a target, and cause their body to overload, and make time stop that person in question, before continuing as normal, without them noticing.

Due to training from her father under Phaedric ideals, she can manifest abilities through mind-control and telekinesis, but has very few techniques for ranged attacks, both due to her preference for fencing, and her father limiting her abilities. She can, however, channel Valin energy into her eyes to allow her to disintegrate targets through concentrated vision, though it weakens her vision and eyes for a few minutes.

Despite these powers, she is, unlike most of her kin within the Sorcerers, most concerned with perfection and reaching new physical heights with her fighting abilities in one on one combat against foes, using her strengths to overwhelm and destroy her foes with speed and surprising physical strength, despite her appearance.

Equipment

Jurisa is armed with an Aster blade like many Sorcerers, a symbol of power and position. It is used to cut through most armors and flesh, and block and deflect enemy blaster rounds. Her armor is a black suit of what appears to be a bio-mechanical, skeletal structure across her body, and equipped with a cape that flows across her back. The armor seems to breath on it's own, moving slightly against her body, and hissing slightly when struck, as well as "bleeding". Since she is never seen outside of it, many question where Jurisa begins and where the suit ends.

After entering the service of the Empire under Lord "Blackhole", she came to wear robes and armor more in common with Imperial Valin Adepts and Inquisitors then her original suit of armor. She also traded in her Aster Blade for a Phase-Saber, choosing a blue-colored one, and came to prefer it's balance and strength over her original.

Notes

In-Universe
  • Only a few beings knows Jurisa's parentage, including the former Warlock-King Bahadur Cethannia, Xoltethip and many of the higher ranking Lorekeepers, and Emperor Tyrómairon. The latter is the only one not of the Rathanii to know this.
Out of Universe.
  • Was based on the Dark Jedi Sariss from Dark Forces II, while her tattoos and red coloration was based on Darth Maul, Darth Talon and other Sith Lords who used black tattoos on red flesh to intimidate their foes.
  • Like her father and many other Rathanii, she has no Prime universe counterpart, so as to give the Rathanii more character to themselves.
  • Her armor was based on pictures found that fetishized the Xenomorphs from the Alien Franchise, which ZF decided to take and twist to certain levels of Fan Disservice with how the suit is worn and reacts to it's user, as well as to harken back to HR Giger's original ideals behind the creatures.
