The dreaded message[]
Laurene Maxime was enjoying her morning coffee, when she suddenly received two incoming messages, one from Marshal of France and another from Alexandre Valéry. Laurene Maxime had noticed the international communications alert system was flashing when she had woken up five minutes before, and she had never wanted it in her bedroom, and on at least two occasions she had to address foreign powers, so this time she ignored it to have a less stressful morning before her busy schedule. Maxime was not one to be afflicted by nerves, but she knew something must be wrong. What had the Kindred Coalition dared to do now?
Talking to both the senior advisers of the French Armed Forces and her co-worker Prime Minister Valéry, she almost dropped her drink, learning of the Delpha Coalition of Planets' declaration of war, on not just France, but a very sizeable portion of Humanity and allies, with the rest wrapped around the DCP's fingers. In truth, everyone knew inside that a great war was inevitable. The Alcanti Triad, as perceived by the Orion League was an act of rebellion against the established and unsatisfactory political arena. Unfortunate, that it was formed in times of great disturbance, in a time when even the DCP was aggressively shooting in the dark.
It was obvious who had alerted Maxime this morning. She tentatively opened the static message.
INCOMING MESSAGE - DCP CHANNEL
THIS MESSAGE IS INTENDED FOR ALL PERSONS LIVING IN OR RELATING TO THE ORION LEAGUE.
The Orion League has been charged guilty of illegal war crimes in the Orion Spur and has conducted hostile acts of aggression to breach the peace of several powers by seizing international territories for its military assets; founding illicit terrorist networks to uproot and taint trade authorities and the Seven Star Alliance; dividing intergalactic territory with toll roads; establishing footholds in Milky Way for extragalactic imperialism.
The DCP hereby announces it can no longer stand by and watch humanity fall victim to the shocking imperial ambitions of the Draconid Imperium and her commonwealth, of who's actions recently are also an affront to intergalactic order. But there is a deeper conspiracy at the heart of all these conflicts, of which we fear the DI and the Orion League have fallen prey to.
Our message shall be clear, in light of the provocations from the "Xonexi Allies", the Orion League's government is to be dismantled immediately before it opens a new hyperspatial conflict. The Fjord League of Northern Europe, India, Republic of Oceania and Euraspact have declared allegiance to the Allied Terran Republic and are exempt. The Yamato Stellar Empire is also exempt for its neutrality in human affairs, though any act of aggression will be met with equal to or greater than force. A no-traversal zone in the aforementioned territories are to be in effect as of now for all military craft not under DCP permittance. The DCP Administration also now has Full Custodial Control over all the Orion League's wormhole assets in the Milky Way, breach of this infrastructure will lead to the utmost destruction of said infrastructure.
You are now first generation DCP citizens, but this will be temporary until a new leadership is established. We consider humanity a distant but unruly friend, thus our response will not be like that against the Tyranny. We ask to keep this unpleasantry confined to the Orion Spur, but any provocations from the Draconid Imperium, Drodo Empire, Tybusen Intergalactic Allied Federation, other human powers or anyone else will be dealt with seriously. However, that would be an unfortunate outcome to the rising tensions between allies and one we will gravely but quickly end with our might.
Maxime's day was about to get a whole lot more stressful.
