The Old Cyrannian Republic, known contemporarily as the Republic and also known as the First Republic was a galactic super power that existed thousands of years before the rise of the Galactic Empire of Cyrannus from 45,500 BNE to 6000 BNE. From its majestic and gleaming capital on Orbispira, the Republic ruled Cyrannus with a gentle hand and sent diplomats to settle disputes across the galaxy, only engaging in military action should it be deemed absolutely necessary. However, throughout its history, the Republic was forced to face down sinister threats such as the Phaedric and Nagith Empires, who desired nothing more than the complete destruction of the bastion of democracy.
The Republic survived for over thirty nine thousand years, serving as the pinnacle of civilisation in the Cyrannus Galaxy. Though it would later be reformed into the less grand Cyrannian Federation at the end of the Second Nagith War in 6000 BNE, the legacy of the Republic would ultimately live on through it and its successor governments including the United Republic of Cyrannus, the New Cyrannian Republic and even the Galactic Empire of Cyrannus, along with countless other civilisations inspired by the old Republic throughout the First Gigaquadrant.
