The Drenmarr Republic is an ancient native empire of the Byzan Sector known for its internal stability. The 20,000 year old nation doesn't get involved in external politics and has remained a stable Tier 3 self-sustained civilization for around 15,000 years. The first 5,000 years were spent in a state of constant warfare with 3 long destroyed adversities. The nation preforms sector-sweeps every so often, and is usually the first nation that most emergent civilizations meet after leaving their star system. The Drenmarr Republic has a strict rule of neutrality and often acts as a peacekeeper in the Byzan Sector.

Eons of Peace[]

The Upstarts[]

In modern history, several new interstellar powers have risen up to rival the Drenmarr Republic. These powers are often at odds with each others, and the animosity finally exploded into conflict when a terrorist attack set off a war. The Republic remained neutral and was promptly attacked by both sides because they felt betrayed. The invasion has begun!

Government[]

The Drenmarr Republic has a three-branch government. The branches are the Abdicators, the Parliament, and the Chancellor.

  • Chancellor

The Chancellor is a singular individual who handles the public relations and military activities of the republic. He or she is elected every 6 years and can only run for 3 terms. They are the final military leader of the republic, though there is a General and an Admiral serve under him to ensure proper running of the military.

  • Parliament

Parliament is the maker of laws for the Republic. They hold the power to declare war, the power to pass laws, and the power to craft amendments to the Codex. The Parliament also manages the day to day running of the civilian-side of the Republic, though they have many sub-offices who make this work smoothly.

  • Abdicators

Abdicators are people who take power from the government. They serve as the final jury of the Republic, and can pass judgement on individuals accused of crimes. The Abdicators exist to restrict the government and personal power alike, and have a large military police force who ensure that their word is followed.

Characteristics[]

The primary characteristic of the Drenmarr Republic is its complete stagnation. There haven't been any serious technological advances in well over 10,000 years, indeed, since the end of the 5,000 Years War. The nation hasn't had any changes in government except for the names of leaders, culture has only changed in that certain styles have gone into and out of style many times. The entire nation has fallen into a sort of death state where it no longer has innovation, change, or expansion. It was considered a "big deal" when the Chancellor retired early, and that was over 60 years ago. The Drenmarr Republic is a fading and stagnant nation that is unwilling to adapt to a changing universe.

Technology[]

The technology of the Drenmarr Republic peaked out at Dyson Swarms and a few megastructures. They can move small planets and moon with relative ease, as well as craft their own when necessary. They have fairly complex bioengineering tech and can manipulate planetary biospheres and evolution. Their military tech consists of antimatter weapons and plasma weapons, as well as EM pulses and EM Railguns. They have been using the same basic warp drive for almost 15,000 years. Their colonization tech is planet-bound, and they don't see the purpose in creating new building or ship designs.

The Drenmarr Republic is divided into a number of smaller divisions called Providences. They are generally named after famous people from the Republic, with the notable exception of Upper, Middle, and Lower Providences, which were annexed into the Republic when the Warriorcell surrendered the remaints of their empire into it. The other districts were colonized over time, and as such received proper names. The district one is born in is often of great pride to an individual from Drenmarr, though the competition between providences is limited to sports and sub-governments.

Trivia[]
