The Draconid Imperium is more than a collection of states who have submitted their sovereignty for our own, it is more than an empire. It is a philosophy; that culture and opinion is merely a superficial obstacle to unity. And nowhere is that more clear than in the diversity of its clients. Where presidents, despots, emperors and chairmen alike salute under one banner

- Aureus Emrus, political theorist

The Draconid Imperium owes much of its territory to the principle of Pax Draconica; a political concept where in exchange for technology, access to the Imperium's trade networks and a voice on the all-encompassing Grand Senate in exchange for surrendering their sovereignty and becoming a part of the Draconid Imperium's expansive territories.

Unlike other empires who's territory consists of conquered civilisations such as the Delpha Coalition of Planets and the Fordan Empire, clients under the Imperium (known as provinces under Imperial administration) retain their cultural identity and their previous methods of government, with freedom to change to any other sort if they so wished so long as the new system honoured the provincial status and the pact made with the Imperium proper.

New Ammosian Domain[]

  • Capital: Ammos Nova
  • Estimated number of systems: 32,000
  • Government system: Democratic republic
  • Date of annexation: ID.219382
  • Head of state: Chief Executive

Established as a provisional administration after the last War of Dragons, the New Ammosian Domain represents the annexed regions and the pro-Imperial citizens of the Ammosian Domain. For much of its century-long existence, the Domain's government has been a provisional one supervised by representatives provided by the local office of the Praetor, and has only recently emerged as a province that can stand on its own two feet. Although it is a province on the up, the New Domain remains a nation strongly observed by local Imperial administrations, representing one of the few historical examples where the Imperial government taking more direct charge of administration in the wake of an ineffectual government.

The New Domain is one of a small number of states in the Imperium that lacks an identity of its own. In the case of the Domain this was due to its recent establishment by dividing the original Ammosian domain between the Draconid Imperium and the Segmentum Draco Federal Union. To fill the gaps, the Ammosians have emulated a number of Draconid and Drasheril values to create a hybrid of the two supercultures. Despite this lack of a distinct cultural identity, the Ammosians living in the Imperium hold a proud nostalgia for their domains' recent past, optimistic that the Imperium can restore their realm to the glory days of their old empire.

Draconid Ecumene[]

  • Capital: Alcanti
  • Estimated number of systems: 6,350,000
  • Government system: Federated oligarchy
  • Date of annexation: ID.0
  • Head of state: Verapis Alconiv Urossus

Considered the heart of the Crown Worlds and one of the dominant territories, the Draconid Ecumene are an eclectic federation of provinces united by the ethnic principle of being successors to the original Draconis. Made up of states and territories connected by the union's overall dominance of the Imperium, the Draconid Ecumene enjoy a comfortable position of status as the centre of the empire. Understood to be a successor to the Alcanti Solar Confederacy, a state's membership within the Ecumene grants its citizens and the various families inside of it a say in government, but what criteria allows this admission varies from period to period, with some cases having permission granted by size of population while others were admitted by achieving the top brackets of economic prosperity.

Far from a single unified state, the Draocnid Ecumene is made up of hundreds of provinces of its own. A diverse set of political systems differentiates a number of them as many seek to retain the forms of government that work for them. What they do share is that in the process of unification, many of these states have become culturally similar, inter-regional business and trade and an open mixing of the various populations has allowed for the region to thrive as a whole. Out of all the provinces of the Imperium however, the ecumene is the region that is most "imperialised"; the territories within it feel much more pressure than than other provinces to adopt the high culture of the Draconis, but because of the inherent diversity of the Ecumene, it is here, more than any other province, where what is defined as imperial high or "Draconid" culture is defined.

Contrary to what is popularly understood, the ecumene's head of state is not in fact the Paragon, nor is it the Imperial chancellor. Leadership of the Ecumene is bestowed to a group called the Golden Council, an assembly of the various potentates or representative figureheads that govern the ecumenical provinces. Representation is granted to a figure called "The Esteemed", chosen from the most powerful figures in the ecumene. Although this might infer that that the imperial royal family holds an automatic right, the house's trans-cultural status excludes any royals from being granted the position.

United Drallivian Republics[]

  • Capital: Drallos-Erotoni
  • Estimated number of systems: 2400
  • Government system: Democratic republic
  • Date of annexation: ID.219460
  • Head of state: Crown-Princess Elleva Elytona

The United Drallivan Republics are a collective of a dozen democratic nations primarily populated by the dragonlike Drallivians, genetic relatives of the Draconis. The republics share a common cultural and trade union, benefiting greatly from variety of the broader Imperial society.

Many aspects of Drallivian culture are shared with that of the Draconis as they desire to emulate their "elder cousins", including a love for fine art and an emphasis on artistic perfection. Many of the governments within the republic are largely democratic, with politicians serving eight year terms at a time. Despite the republics' political system being more egalitarian than the bulk of Imperial administration, the republics share the Draconid nobility's sense of realpolitik and are mostly held together through political tact and diplomacy. The likelihood of members breaking away from the republics is an ever-present issue that politicians both inside and outside the republics work to mitigate.

Realm of the Pariahs[]

  • Capital: Avalon
  • Estimated number of systems: 100
  • Government system: Democratic republic
  • Date of annexation: ID.219500
  • Head of state: Archon Renus Kantus

The Realm of the Pariahs is a territory that was founded by Drakodominatus refugees escaping the widespread eugenics that occurred within the Drakodominatus Tyranny. With a population of only several million, the Realm is one of the most sparsely-populated territories in the Imperium. The Realm was initialy mired by pressure from the Tyranny to return what the latter believed to be traitors, the realm's first year had its leaders fighting a legal battle to remain in Andromeda while the Tyranny's figure head at the time, Medusa Heimdall desperately fought to return them for execution.

Ashamed of the society they fled, the Pariahs adopt concepts and ideas from throughout the Imperium, looking to emulate their protectors from persecution. The realm of the Pariahs is an immensely cosmopolitan culture the downside of which is that Drakodominatus within it lack their own unique cultural identity, with hubs of the realm reflecting places such as Araveene or Vencortium Prime on a smaller scale.

Eisenar Republic[]

  • Capital:
  • Estimated number of systems: 502,000
  • Government system: Democratic republic
  • Date of annexation: ID.219495
  • Head of state: Chairwoman Hoirini Kazi

A democratic republic in southern Segmentum Draco, the Eisenar Republic joined the Imperium after the collapse of the Artharon-led The Coalition of Segmentum Draco, during the waning days of the Andromeda War. A large and prosperous capitalistic society that values the pursuit of personal freedom, the Eisenar Republic has been observed to some as something of a corpratocracy. The extend of corporate services and the executive ruling classes makes the Eisenar Republic a nation where money talks. And it has been argued by social critics that while the Republic could have joined for protection as was officially stated, having exhausted themselves supporting the Artharon Realm, there are some critics who wonder if the Republic sought to sign on to Pax Draconica to gain access to the Imperium's inter-territorial market economy.

Spiritually the Republic is a diverse region, supporting agnostic communities among believers in ancestor worship. A curious phenomenon among the wealthier brackets of thep opulation has been to adopt the customs and tastes of the greater Draconid Imperium. It has become increasingly common for instance for particularly high-status Eisenar to dress in the latest line of High Praetoral garments, while others of these social groups have taken an interest in Draconid systems of belief such as the memory-resonating Eche energy. This has had the unfortnate impact of slowly dividing the Republic's citizens into two - a large body of low and middle-wealth families with conservative and traditional values, and a growing upper-wealth bracket that has taken to embracing Draconid tastes. much to the uneasiness or concern of the rest of the population.

Domain of As Radan[]

  • Capital: As Radan
  • Estimated number of systems: 45
  • Government system: Democratic republic
  • Date of annexation: ID.219498
  • Head of state: Domain Chancellor Arkanen

The Domain of As Radan is a small territory in Northern Segmentum Draco primarily inhabited by the aristocratic Kaelar. At one time the Domain occupied a sizeable territory which was eradicated for all but a few systems, creating a culture of incredibly paranoid people that were afraid of the catastrophe that led to the collapse of their empire. The Domain's desire ot rebuild in peace was shattered during the Andromeda War where they lost further worlds to the Andromedan Grox Empire until the Draconid Imperium offered to protect them.

Domain culture bears similarities to other high-class civilisations in Andromeda. Unlike other such cultures however, many aspects of Kaelar life bear an ominous feel as socially the Kaelar fear the collapse happening again. Despite this, Domain inhabitants encourage the high arts and is known to be a society of meticulous craftsmen and pedantic performers. Their severe population loss has encouraged their society to be highly automated. The Domain has in fact one of the most highly-automated public sectors in Andromeda, with most of the working population either pursuing politics or the fine arts. Frontier planets are also extremely automated, with some worlds being occupied only by farming or mining machines.

Shellious Imperium[]

  • Capital: Shellis (Igriga)
  • Estimated number of systems: 9000
  • Government system: Constitutional monarchy
  • Date of annexation: ID.219495
  • Head of state: Emperor Edoshai

The Shellious Imperium is one of the largest extragalactic protectorates in the Imperium; primarily located in the Bunsen Galaxy. After the events of the Annihilation, the territories were moved to Bunsen barely intact, and required the Talon Navy's assistance. While in near ruin in ID.219494, their space has proved to be a prosperous addition to the Imperium's culture.

The empire is centred around the planet of Shellis (known locally as Igriga), and boasts some of the Bunsen Galaxy's greatest biodiversity and cultural advancement; even more with the addition of Alcanti's exports to the sector. While they have adapted many technological advancements from the Imperium, some aspects of Imperium culture are unwelcome in the central colonies, where the Draconis population is lowest for any territory of it's size. Shellious religious institutes especially have responded with minor hostility towards the Inquisition and the perceived lack of independence.

Kicath Enclave[]

  • Capital: Vaseilten (Váseilten)
  • Estimated number of systems: 154013
  • Government system: Representative Democracy
  • Date of annexation: ID.78213
  • Head of state: Kitzacharón Vekanyilún

The Kicath Enclave (Andromedan Kicathian: Kicathian: Kisiatanyenezakeánteronune - Kicathian Andromedan Enclave) is among the oldest extant provinces within the Draconid Imperium. During the times of the rule of House Khaxvis, the then Kicath Empire contacted the Draconid Imperium and was granted the power to establish an enclave within the Imperium's own territories. Whilst the territories remained strongly in contact with the Kicath Empire itself, the destruction of their territories at the hands of the Xhodocto twenty thousand years ago had broken off major contact with the Empire.

It was only recently that the Kicathian Republic had reopened contact with the Kicath Enclave, which is now one of the uncommon places of transport directly to the Kicathian Republic's territories in both the Borealis Galaxy and the Milky Way and to the Imperium itself. The Kicathian Republic have since reintroduced such strong connections. The Kicath Enclave remains a somewhat strongly Kicathian-influenced sector in terms of architecture and social customs, though the recent contact with the Remnant has allowed for the evolution of a more cosmopolitan territory within the Imperium.

Despite the safety within the Kicathian Enclave, minor political unrest has risen within the enclave with the desire for those territories to be handed back to the Kicathian Republic, though Councillor Kithworto Aknatazán has not expressed an opinion.

Ki'Dirrik Collective[]

  • Capital: Then-sha
  • Estimated number of systems: 12680
  • Government system: Absolute monarchy
  • Date of annexation: ID.187402
  • Head of state: Overqueen Kahsa'San-shana

One of the more exotic provinces of the Imperium, the Ki'Dirrik Collective is a collectivist autocracy primarily located in southern Draco. Established by the insectoid Ki'Dirrik, the collective represents one of the Imperium's more significant efforts at integrating conflicting nations into the fold, as well as having needs more alien to other species, the Ki'Dirrik prefer to finance their own military and build their own fleets, relying on more organically-constructed vessels than the metallic vessels provided by the likes of the Valle consortiums.

Although the Collective sees membership within the Imperium as a benefit, historically there has long been an air of suspicion about the Ki'Dirrik. As a group-minded entity that places supreme authority in a figure called the "overqueen" and an almost religious reverence of her, concern that the Overqueen may one day attempt to override the paragon's authority is a frequent topic of discussion among senators and sector governors. Although the collective's warrior castes are highly appreciated among the Talon Ground Legions, the Collective faces frequent proposals to limit their military capacity. As if to try and counter these claims, the queens, known to live for thousands of years, have frequently attempted to remain endeared to the paragon.

The Collective hold controlling influence of one of the few pan-Imperial religions (the other major ones being Drakon's Following and Masaari), that promotes the formation of a group mind and encourages aliens of all kinds to join it.

Realm of Vanpilum[]

  • Capital: Vanpilum
  • Estimated number of systems: 180
  • Government system: Xenoarchy
  • Date of annexation: ID.84721
  • Head of state: Thresh-o-shan-shok

The Realm of Vanpilum is a small territory in Southern Draco inhabited primarily by the elusive Kovokitid. The Realm's society has been a mystery for most of its history within the Imperium, with only a handful of sapiens being witness to what Kovokitid look like outside of their pressure suits. Little is known about them aside from indicators of treting currents and gases with spiritual regard and a natural affinity for flow dynamics that surpasses many qualified engineers within Imperial space.

Centred around a gas giant in the Vanpilum system, the Realm is one of the slowest-growing domains within the Imperium, and despite its age the Kovokitid appear content to develop slowly, occasionally accepting technology from Imperial delegates. Most of the territories claimed by the Realm of Vanpilum are sparsely populated by them save for three dozen populated gas giants. Most of the rocky planets within these systems are used either for resource-collection for the Realm's industries or populated by migrants from other regions of Andromeda.

New Kraw Consulate[]

  • Capital: Komraes
  • Estimated number of systems: 215
  • Government system: Democratic republic
  • Date of annexation: ID.219501
  • Head of state: High consul Eshas Alvorok

Integrating into the Imperium in ID.219501, the New Kraw Consulate is an offshoot of the Krawnak Arkil Consulate, and is one of the larger Kraw populations outside the Kraw Galaxy. Sometimes called the Komrease Consulate after one of the planets named in the ID.500.219 Komraes-Eskaem Purchase, the New Consulate's primary territories in Andromeda Galaxy are one of the strongest bastions of democracy in the Imperium. And although the New Consulate's small size limits the size of its voice on the homeland council, Kraw politicians are frequently vocal on what they believe when discussion is on matters of state. Despite this attitude, the New Consulate has been respected as a strong voice against too many authoritarian tenancies.

A young and growing state located in Central-North Draco, the New Consulate enjoys a generous degree of infrastructural support, becoming a highly industrialised member of the newer territories. When the Kraw emigrated from Komraes and Eskaem to their new homes, they brought with them a number of cultural elements. Urban centres offer a rich variety of media (Kraw media being one of a number of territories known to be open to criticising government to the point of being controversial among more conservative provinces) while more rural colonies have found immense popularity in cultivating Zalkarg meat for export.

Valle Corporate States[]

  • Capital: Valle prime
  • Estimated number of systems: 84890
  • Government system: Corporate federation
  • Date of annexation: ID.42790
  • Head of state: Chief chairman Drovo

Another corporate republic in the heart of the Imperial territories, the Valle Corporate States are regarded as the engineering heart of the Imperium, home to numerous arms and engineering firms such as Valle Astroengineering. The numerous corporate states that make up the province have developed a clan-like mentality among the native Kroogvon, who take pride in CEO and corporation instead of statesman and country.

The archipelago world of Valle is marked with numerous bunker cities. Valle's thick atmosphere generate powerful winds, to historically counter this the native Kroogvon designed fortress-cities not just to defend against opposing states and pirates, but also supply windbreakers to create pockets of calm where civilisation could thrive. In the spacefaring era, these fortress-cities evolved into massive hive structures, construction supported financially by the corporations that came to dominate Kroogvon society. Unlike the more republican Eisenar Republic and Speeder Trade Federation, the corporations that run the Valle states act as minor states, with numerous competing subsidiaries to foster economic competition within these corporate nations. The Council of Financiers, an inter-corporate summit that handles regulation and federal legislation, composes of a mix of representatives from the larger states and neutral bureaucrats who have sworn to be impartial to the agendas of the various states.

To say the States re held together only for the stake of stability is something of a misunderstanding of Kroogvon corporate interests. When an individual, be it a CEO, director, executive or engineer, becomes particularly remarkable, other corporate states enter nonviolent bidding and recruitment wars to poach valued businessmen and industrialists. It is not uncommon for a CEO to have held positions in four or more companies as his skills become highly prized. As a result, those who gain particular renown within their respective positions and fields can become extremely wealthy as rival companies compete with offers of ever larger salaries, becoming celebrities in their own right with the following and publicity that such things entail.

Speeder Trade Federation[]

  • Capital: Rapaos
  • Estimated number of systems: 278440
  • Government system: Corporate republic
  • Date of annexation: ID.0
  • Head of state: Supreme executive Elefeth

Marked down in the annals history as the first of the great provinces of the Imperium, the Speeder Trade Federatoin (officially the Fifth Speeder Federation) has history and economic influence that makes it one of the most influential provinces in the Imperium, in some cases boasting more influence than larger nations. A corporate republic where elections for seats of governance are performed democratically among the corporations (holding shareholder status in a company grants the right to elect the company's representatives on the Great Board), the Trade Federation has been a longstanding supporter of the United Draconid States, whethe rmilitarily with its merchant marine, or financially with the wealth of Speeder corporations. The expansion of the early Imperium has been bankrolled by Speeder chairmen lookingfor a stake in expansion prospects, and during the infamous House Wars it has been said that whichever side secures the Federation's support is granted the assets needed, although not guaranteed, to emerge victorious.

One of the great Crown Territories, the Trade Federation is second in prestige to the United Draconid States. And has over time been as fluid. Its capitol, Rapaeos, while dwarfed by the economic prestige of Alcanti or Araveene, is a major economic centre due to the business acumen demonstrated by Speeder financiers and entrepreneurs, with a number of large corporations if not historically located on Rapeos, were founded or at some point chiefly managed by the Rapidox. Although the Trade Federation itself has historically offered low corporate taxes to businesses that headquarter within its borders, it has never successfully claimed the crown of the Imperial heart from Alcanti for very long periods of time.

Sultanate of Sankah[]

  • Capital: Sankah
  • Estimated number of systems: 28820
  • Government system: Constitutional monarchy
  • Date of annexation: ID.184029
  • Head of state: Sand queen Sanshinakafah

One of the smaller industrious states, the Sultanate of Sankah is a territory in SOuthern Draco managed and primarily populated by the avian Sankana. With their homeworld being a dry and arid place, the more traditional Sankana revere the land and nature. The Sankana themselves are one of the uplifted states in the Imperium; supported by the Royal Academy in ID.183570 and given the rudimentary tools, the Sankana were able to escape their arid homeworld and develop a prosperous empire.

A resonant element of their uplifting, a number of the Sanakna retain old traditions. Rumours tell that from the weather-control technologies offered to the Sankana sultans the Draconis saw as pivotal to uplifting, the Sankana sultans were treated among the more superstitious citizens as semi-divine, favoured by spirits of water and air and able to call down rain at their command. This died down as the Sankana spread across their local cluster, with Sankana engineers bringing the terraforming technology with them to maximise their chances of survival. Although much of the population no longer believe the sultans command the rains to fall, stories still exist of the god-sultans of ancient times, treated as a curiosity by the academia and in some cases a way to secure power among the royal families back on Sankah by claiming to be descended from these god-kings.

Beyond reverance for the land and for spirits in nature, Sankana culture is one adapted to the heat of the day. Their diet, although omnivorous, consists of numerous protein-rich butters and beans, due to the historic difficulty of raising grazing animals when the land is dry or sparse. The resulting palette is rich with all manners of flavours, while Sanakana art involves bright, vibrant colours, mosaics that cover the walls, floors and ceilings of important buildings.

Shadow Prince Unions[]

  • Capital: Disputed
  • Estimated number of systems: 2320
  • Government system: Confederate Kratocracy
  • Date of annexation: ID.219494
  • Head of state: Shadow Council

Something of a controversial territory, the Shadow Prince Unions are a collection of enclaves that once declared allegiance to the Khaxvis Resurgence. After Volkarus Khaxvis was reported dead after the Red Snake Rising crisis, a number of high ranking figures of the organisation's "blessed few" saw the Khaxvis patriarch's downfall as an opportunity to break away from the changed organisation. Those who did not fancy full independence approached the Imperium as a group calling itself the Shadow Prince Union, offering their knowledge and abilities in exchange for protection. This agreement, later known as the Delegation of the 250 Dark Princes was accepted with considerable scrutiny and the included clause that the enclaves they would bring would become public knowledge.

To call the territory a union is something of a misnomer. Although the ruling body have promised to offer themselves to the Imperium, individual 'shadow princes' compete fiercely for territory, resources and supremacy. Larger enclaves act as hubs for provincial freedoms, the principle of Pax Draconica allows the various enclave masters to expand into the solar systems they were once hidden within as well as neighboring systems, allowing what were once isolated fortresses to become prospering towns and cities that openly draw in resources from the territory around them. Larger hubs have in the years since the delegation have become de facto planetary capitals acting as inviting places for settlers even in heartland territories of the Draconid Imperium. In order to prevent chaos and self-destruction, the 50 most powerful of these princes formed the Shadow Council. Although any of the union's princes are theoretically immortal, there is fierce competition for one of the coveted council seats, and admitting a new member has in practice been considered a mixture between meritocracy and kratocracy, as not only does a new council member have to prove his strength, he or she must also have the favour of at least one quarter of the council to preserve stability.

The territory is not without its problems however. The feuds between shadow princes have been known to be bloody, and several princes demonstrate a fondness for cults of personality that soem argue may conflict with mainstream Imperial attitudes. Despite the newfound prosperity and open practices, immense distrust exists for the inhabitants of the Union due to their prior allegiances towards House Khaxvis and the cultural stigmas the house once fostered among its own. What generates distrust above all are the rumours of many shadow princes themselves possessing dark, baleful strength and bizarre talents. The Blessed Few had gained a reputation as demons of a sort, a stigma that has struggled to be broken with time as paranoia simmers among both Imperial delegates and citizens that the shadow princes would use their position and talents to undermine the Imperium in the long term.

Alpenix Federation[]

  • Capital: Alpenixa
  • Estimated number of systems: 187220
  • Government system: Technocracy
  • Date of annexation: ID.43720
  • Head of state: Chieve of representatives Olofiror Vanosho

Val'Kar Kratocracy[]

Sublime Ecumene of the Sambel Kind[]

  • Capital: Sambel
  • Estimated number of systems: 182985
  • Government system: Meritocracy
  • Date of annexation: ID.63287
  • Head of state: Count Vazamex Luzelul

The Sublime Ecumene of the Sambel Kind is the province of the peacock-like Verviok, one of the oldest members of the Imperium who have been present since nearly two hundred thousand years. While the specifics for their absorption in the Draconis' society are ambiguous as of the current date, many believe the Ecumene came to them looking for protection from potential threats due to their people's peaceful ways and lack of military emphasis.

The Ecumene serves as a cultural bastion for the Imperium, with the Verviok being welcoming to aliens who may wish to bask upon their arts, which range from music to literature and painting. The empire is centered around the lush homeworld of the Verviok, Sambel, which has been a popular touristic destination through the ages. The Verviok take great pride of their achievements though while their military prowess has definitely improved with time, they would still rather have their allies fight in their name than actually fight themselves, leading to some to stereotype the Sublime Ecumene as lazy and opportunist.

Kratocracy of the Kodathargo[]

  • Capital: Koralis
  • Estimated number of systems: 45,510
  • Government system: Kratocratic Oligarchy
  • Date of annexation: ID.219497
  • Head of state: Warmaster Kervon Daktis

Among one of the youngest provinces in the Imperium, the Kratocracy of the Kodathargo is one of the stronger Zazane empires in Andromeda. Established by Zazane hopeful for a new life and respectful of the Draconis, the territory the Kratocracy emerged from became a bastion against pirates and societies looking to harm the more minor elements of the Imperium. After the dissolution of the Brood of War that came with the death of Tyraz Breek, the Kratocracy established claim as the best successor to the Brood, expanding into Frenzy Space promising freedom from Shidium and the violent traditions of old with varied success.

Although a martial culture, the Kratocracy places a strong cultural value on defense and the rule of law. The violent traditions of the Zazane, where the strong were valued and the weak either had to toughen up or die, was phased out in the early years in favour of a system of harsh discipline to strengthen everyone. "Kodathargo" Zazane lack the Shidium traces that permeated Brood society, and are perceived as much healthier than their counterparts in Frenzy Space. As well as supporting one of the larger auxillia forces in the Imperium, the Kratocracy boasts a strong level of support and contriution to the Talon Ground Legion, the amount of respect Zazane themselves have gained makes the Kratocracy one of the few regions beyond the Crown Worlds that contribute to the Talon Marine Corps, the Kodathargo Zazane themselves being more lenient to the use of powered armour by perceiving it as a way to make the strong stronger than a way to compensate for a sense of weakness.

Paragonic Church of Unification[]

  • Capital: Alcanti
  • Estimated number of systems: 15480
  • Government system: Democratic theocracy
  • Date of annexation: ID.163410
  • Head of state: Exarch Superior Caesamnis Seprius

More of a collective of highly-spiritual planets and Church of Spode enclaves than a formal territory, the Paragonic Church of Unification (also known as the Imperial Church of Spode) is perhaps the most broadly-distributed but also perhaps one of the sparsest of the provinces. Originally a mix of Church territories purchased from the Church of Spode and enclaves established by Radeon migrants, it is thought that generations of Imperial efforts have transformed these colonies of the original Church into their own distinct entity, separate from the modern Conclave and led by the Exarch Superior, much to the discomfort of The Divinarium. The Churge expanded most significantly after the Andromeda War, where an agreement was signed between the Divinarium and the Draconid Imperium to exchange a series of worlds occupied during the conflict. The Imperial conclave was able to lobby for a number of the Divinarium worlds granted Draconid leadership to be placed under the Imperial Church's administration.

Thought to have developed and fully separated though a string of numerous primates and exarchs who favoured the leadership of the Imperial Senate over the rule of the Conclave, the Imperial Church evolved into a distinct sect of Masaari, adopting tendencies from their Draconid benefactors. Although still a Masaari faith, the Imperial Church is less tempted towards performing proselytism on unbelievers than the Divinarium and some would argue is more open than the Church. The Exarch Dominate, for instance, is elected not by a council of exarchs (as is case in the Divinarium) but by the broader ecumenical body, art and architecture takes on more baroque influences inspired by Draconid cities and temples while Spode itself is given a more personable appearance win religious literature and artwork.

Although more introverted in their faith than many other sects of the Church, the ever-gradual spread has been noted by the Grand Inquisition, and on the former Divinarium worlds in Segmentum Crepusculum, the Inquisition is vigilant that proselytism by the Imperial Church does not cause too much tension with the more Divinarium-familiar majority.

Quotes[]

Every culture has its merits or else it would not have lasted longer than a single generation. It is a waste to ignore this sense of logic.

- Head illuminate Drake Senvinus

Trivia[]

  • "Pax Draconica" was derived from "Pax Romana" (Latin: Roman peace) and its derivative "Pax Britannica". Pax in Latin meaning "peace"
  • The idea of provinces has been around since the Imperium was first introduced, where they were called protectorates. Later revisions split the Imperium's territories into politically-independant protectorates and provinces.
  • Several users have contributed to the list of provinces over the years.
