The Unknown Regions is the term used to describe the vast region of the Cyrannus Galaxy located to the galactic east of the Core Worlds, which, for millennia, were isolated politically and culturally from the galactic interior. Despite its name however, the Unknown Regions represent the single largest galactic region of Cyrannus, and while much of it remains unexplored, likely houses innumerable space faring civilisations. Of those who made their mark on the wider galaxy, the Cognatus Empire and the Neraida Gigamatrix are most known to Gigaquadrantic history, though in recent decades, the New Cyrannian Republic and the Galactic Empire of Cyrannus began colonising the worlds on the fringes of unexplored space.

History[]

First Republic Era[]

The Unknown Regions of Cyrannus have long been shrouded in mystery and intrigue, a vast expanse of uncharted space that held the echoes of ancient conflicts and the remnants of fallen empires. After the apotheosis of the Oikoumene, the first known civilisation to rise from the region was the enigmatic Nagith Empire, which emerged in 39,300 BNE as a formidable force rising from their homeworld of Drom Nagithin. Driven by expansionist ambitions, the Nagith sought to assert their dominance over neighbouring systems and 'enlighten' the primitive species of the galaxy who refused to acknowledge their supremacy. After centuries of ruthless expansion, when Nagithi scouts discovered the nascent First Republic's use of Oikoumene relics and attacked them as an affront to their gods, sparking the devastating First Nagith War.

NagithWars

The First Republic fight against the Nagith Empire.

Lasting for centuries, the conflict ended with a victory for the Republic, forcing the Nagith back to the Unknown Regions. There, the Nagith laboured to exact their collective revenge against the Republic, eventually creating a force of ruthless droids and automaton known as the Neraida. Although originally designed as the greatest weapon of the Nagith, the Neraida quickly became self-aware, and turned against their creators in a rebellion which sent shockwaves across the Nagith Empire. With their newfound autonomy, the Neraida carved a path of destruction and conquest, almost destroying their organic 'Parents', before retreating into the hyperspace mists which obscured much of the region from their Nagithi creators.

In 23,262 BNE, under the nose of the Nagith, a flotilla of Phaedric vessels, fleeing the destruction of their civilisation following the conclusion of their own conflict with the Republic, travelled for centuries through the hidden hyperlanes of the Unknown Regions, before settling the seemingly inhospitable planet of Moros. There, they began to forge their own empire far from the prying eyes of the rest of the galaxy.

By 13,500 NE, the Nagith had recovered from the Neraida rebellion and attacked the Republic in a conflict which became known as the Second Nagith War. The war would become the most devastating conflict since the end of the Phaedric Wars and resulted in the deaths of trillions of both Republic and Nagith citizens. The infrastructure of both civilisations were devastated beyond repair, bringing about the end of the Nagith Empire and forcing the dissolution of the Republic, sparking a millennia long Cyrannian Dark Age.

Contemporary Era[]

In the Zelotes Sector, the martial Cogsangui rose to power, conquering the peaceful Vevilog and the disunited Pso'Pex. The three races quickly formed an alliance, united in their belief in divinity of the Oikoumene. Ultimately, this alliance formed the bedrock of the Cognatus Alliance.

In the period of disorder which followed the collapse of the Nagith Empire, the fierce Mortalitas emerged from the depths of their watery homeworld of Moreuse to stake their own claim on galactic power. Established in 7,710 BNE, the Mortalitas Empire expanded its dominion, conquering numerous systems and establishing itself as a significant power within the Unknown Regions. Their military prowess and strategic brilliance allowed them to annex territories throughout the Mortiol and Subunda Sectors in the galactic north, leading to the War of the Blue Scales with the similarly expansionistic Tiranozark. Although the war was bloody, a surprise attack by the Cognatus Alliance caused the two factions to combine their forces to repel the invaders, cementing a strong alliance between the Mortalitas and the Tiranozark.

Ezduiin Incident 01

The Empire began to establish a power base in the Unknown Regions during the Dark Times, anchored by the impressive Ezduiin station.

In the millennia which followed, other powers such as the Saurornithanta, the Orothil'Tastran Hermitage, the Icolian Assemblage and the Ecclessoth Convocation began to emerge in the Unknown Regions. Given the difficulty in traversing the hyperlanes, the majority of these civilisations pursued isolationist policies, sceptical about the influence of the Core and other alien species in general. As such, the Unknown Regions proved a reliable refuge for those escaping the authorities of the Federation of United Worlds, the United Republic of Cyrannus and the Galactic Empire of Cyrannus during their successive reigns.

During the reign of the Empire, efforts were made under the direct auspices of the enigmatic Overseer to chart the vast expanse of the Unknown Regions, and to establish a secondary base of power beyond the prying eyes and sensibilities of the Core Worlds. Aided by the Saurornithanta, the Empire established a base of power in the Ezduiin system during the Cyrannian Cold War, constructing a vast space station and expanding their influence into nearby systems. The eventual eradication of the Neraida by the New Republic during the Neraida War did much to aid in this effort, freeing the region for colonisation and exploitation by both the Empire and the Republic.

While the Second Great Cyrannus War engulfed the rest of the galaxy, the Unknown Regions provided sanctuary for the New Republic Remnant on Harborage, but also allowed the Empire to intensify their efforts to tame its endless expanse. Overseen by the Phaedric Order, a vast effort to chart and explore the far reaches of the Unknown Regions was undertaken, classified at the highest level, with no single individual informed of the true scale of the effort. In 18 NE, the ancient Phaedric colonies of Moros, Thyelles and Prithor were rediscovered and colonised by fanatically loyal Imperial officials, leading to the rebirth of the ancient Phaedric cult. All those involved in the chance discovery of the fortress world of Moros were quietly killed, to ensure knowledge of its existence remained a secret.

Even after the Empire’s collapse into anarchy following the Great Battle of Orbispira, the region was being rapidly developed with fleetyards, anchorages and other vast infrastructure projects. Invaluable aid in this regard was provided by the native Carchaxes, who had built their culture around early Phaedric interference on their homeworld of Cytharnus. It was to this distant refuge in the Unknown Regions that a select group of Imperial loyalists were instructed to flee as the Empire collapsed around them, where they could safely plot against the victorious New Republic. The shadow of this new Order represents a new menace to peace in the galaxy, continuing the Unknown Region's state of perpetual uncertainty.

Aldár is a mysterious planet located on the fringes of the Unknown Regions of the Cyrannus Galaxy, far beyond any of the known civilisations of the galaxy—though ultimately significant to the fate of every single one. Aldár exists within an Oikoumene-forged bubble of space-time, seemingly impenetrable and unchartable until the "proper moment". Indeed, Aldár is of great importance to the enigmatic mystery of the Oikoumene, seemingly playing a role in the so-called Lost Aeons prior to the rise of the Vectors of Chaos and Order. During the Apotheosis, a series of events took place which ultimately led to the leader of the Oikoumene, Libraé, to discover the Lord of Light Apolithanatár deep beneath Aldár's surface. The consequences of this fateful meeting are, as yet, unknown.

Countless millennia later, an order of warriors and sages under the leadership of Master Du'utahrovin rediscovered Aldár, giving rise to the First Aldárae Order. This order would eventually fade into the dust, though during the Cyrannian Cold War, events seemingly foretold by the Annals of Valin'uvalyë, once again thrust Aldár to galactic importance—playing host to events which would forever change the course of the Cyrandia Cluster, giving rise to those who stand as a beacon of light to cut through the shroud of darkness cast by Tyrómairon, Morgandaûr and their hold over the cluster.

Indeed, in 14 NE, upon the return of Apolithanatár, the Aldárae Order was formally re-established in the great temple of Aldárae, with the wise masters of the orders negotiating a successful alliance and partnership between their restored order and the New Cyrannian Republic. As the end-point of one of the Republic's newest hyperlanes, dubbed the Aldárae Way, the planet became a centre of learning and knowledge to rival any in the Gigaquadrant.

Ambar is an enigmatic artificial planet in the Aldár sector, homeworld of the Miluiel people. Crafted with unparalleled precision by the ancient Oikoumene, Ambar is a celestial marvel that seamlessly masquerades as a natural world. The planet's surface, adorned in a captivating green-gold tapestry of landmasses and seas, conceals the intricate secrets of its artificial origin. Imposing mountain ranges and land masses on Ambar defy the conventional laws of physics, standing as testament to the extraordinary capabilities of the Oikoumene architects. These impossible geological formations, seemingly suspended in defiance of gravity, contribute to the ethereal beauty and otherworldly ambiance that envelops the planet.

The Miluiel, inhabitants of Ambar, have flourished amidst this surreal landscape, adapting to the unique features of their homeworld. The mysteries of Ambar's creation and the origins of the Miluiel people are deeply intertwined, as both can find their origins in the impossible minds of the ancient Oikoumene. Although the Miluiel are naturally a peaceful and welcoming species, few species were permitted to visit the planet prior to the Cyrannian Cold War, when the Cyrandia Resistance and the Aldárae Order liberated the planet and the Miluiel from the dark clutches of Tyrómairon. Subsequently, the Miluiel swore their loyalty to the Aldárae, and by extension, the New Republic. Although the planet remains shrouded in mystery, it has become a beacon of knowledge and guidance to the galaxy in the post-Second Great War era.

Carinateron, situated in the Monalta Sector of the Unknown Regions, is a frigid planet defined by its harsh ice age conditions. Despite the planet's challenging environment, the native species, the wily Saurornithanta, have adapted ingeniously to thrive in these extreme circumstances. The Saurornithanta's thick, insulating scales protect them from the biting chill, and their unique respiratory system efficiently extracts oxygen from the planet's thin atmosphere. Over time, they developed a sophisticated social structure and hunting strategies that took advantage of the planet's frozen landscapes, ultimately leading to the establishment of their interstellar Dominion, which became one of the Unknown Region's foremost powers.

Carinateron boasts several intriguing planetary features, with vast glaciers dominating its surface, stretching for kilometers and creating mesmerizing ice formations. The planet is also known for its expansive ice caves, where the Saurornithanta established intricate networks of communal spaces and cities. These caves not only provide shelter from the external cold but also serve as hubs for social activities. One notable phenomenon on Carinateron is the occurrence of "frozen storms," where intense bursts of icy winds sweep across the planet's surface, shaping the landscape and creating temporary frozen sculptures. These storms add an element of unpredictability to the environment, challenging both the Saurornithanta and any explorers attempting to navigate the planet.

Despite its formidable conditions, Carinateron's beauty lies in its frozen landscapes and the resilience of its native inhabitants. As such, the Saurornithanta are loath to allow any alien species from stepping foot on their homeworld, accepting officials from the Galactic Empire of Cyrannus only begrudgingly during the Empire's rule over the planet.

Cognalorilos is a planet located in the Zelotes Sector of the Cyrannus Galaxy and is the cradle world of the militaristic Cogsangui. Largely covered by vast, turbulent oceans and craggy arid continents, the harsh nature of their homeworld has largely informed the historical direction of the equally harsh natives.

In the aftermath of the Battle of Cognalorilos during the New Cyrandia Wars, the planet has fallen firmly under the control of the Unified Order of Cognalorilos led by the Primarch Voro Acetenus. Nevertheless, the Sundering of the Cognatus continues, with the planet and much of Cognatus space being contested in a state of perpetual civil war between the Order and the Cognatus Empire under the leadership of the Archon Vos Adamae.

With the rise of the Unified Order of Cognalorilos under the leadership of Acetenus, much of the planet has become united like never before, with the Primarch organising the Council of World States—the legislative body of the Order representing the worlds and sectors loyal to the Primarch. Currently led by the Lord of Councillors, Ashel Tathok, the Council is based in the ancient City of the Ancients—a symbolic move designed to evoke the earliest traditions of the Cogsangui, in which their culture was defined by honour and not zealotry.

Ezduiin, a desolate and inhospitable planet located in the Unknown Regions of Cyrannus, was first explored and charted by the Saurornithanta in the centuries prior to the rise of the Empire. Its unforgiving terrain and harsh climate made it an unappealing destination for colonization. However, during the Cyrannian Cold War, the Empire recognized the strategic value of Ezduiin and constructed a massive orbital station in its vicinity. The Imperial station, orbiting over the desolate planet, became a key military asset featuring advanced shipyards capable of constructing formidable battlecruisers and dreadnoughts. The Empire aimed to leverage Ezduiin's remote location for clandestine shipbuilding and strategic operations during the turbulent Cold War era.

Following the conclusion of the Second Great War, control over Ezduiin and its orbiting facilities shifted to Imperial remnants loyal to the enigmatic Phaedric Order. This transition marked a pivotal moment for the planet, as the Phaedric Order sought to maintain a stronghold in the Unknown Regions and consolidate power over strategic assets. Ezduiin, with its bleak and desolate landscape, became a symbol of military prowess and secrecy, shrouded in mystery and intrigue. The Imperial Remnants, under the influence of the Phaedric Order, utilized the station to exert influence in the region and maintain a formidable military presence.

The enigmatic nature of the Phaedric Order only deepened the mystery surrounding the planet. Rumors spread of dark rituals and clandestine experiments being conducted in the hidden facilities on the planet's surface, as the order sought to reclaim its power. Ezduiin's orbiting facilities, once symbols of Imperial might, now served as a base of operations for the Phaedric Order's ambitious schemes. The construction of colossal starships continued, but now with an ominous and mysterious purpose.

The Aevarin are an unusual species hailing from Aevarin Prime, on the far fringes of the Unknown Regions, known for possessing a unique combination of intelligence, isolationism, and inventiveness. Thriving on the fringes of space, their evolution was shaped by their ability to remain hidden from the expansive influence of the cybernetic Neraida Gigamatrix—aided by an unusual dense concentration of hyperspace fog surrounding their home system. The initial encounter with the galactic community occurred during the Neraida War, a conflict that saw their homeworld succumb to the overwhelming power of the Bisistar Domain.

As survivors of the devastating invasion, the Aevarin sought refuge within the ranks of the New Republic, aligning themselves against the Neraida Gigamatrix. Despite their historically isolationist tendencies, the Aevarin adapted swiftly to galactic affairs, driven by a newfound determination to protect their species and contribute to the broader struggle against the Gigamatrix. Fuelled by a desire for retribution and armed with their advanced technological knowledge, the Aevarin aided the Republic and the Indoctrinate Collective in developing a groundbreaking anti-Neraida virus. This ingenious creation played a pivotal role in the ultimate downfall of the Neraida Gigamatrix. Despite the decimation of their species during the Fall of Aevarin Prime, the inventive capabilities of the survivors solidified their place as a crucial ally in the Republic, showing their capacity to overcome adversity and contribute to the preservation of peace in the galaxy.

This marked the first significant venture of the Remnant since much of the Cognatus battle disappeared at the Great Battle of the Twelve Worlds during the Intergalactic War.

Following the Remnant's overthrow by the Cognatus Empire, the Atacómoni endured difficult times under the new zealous leadership, but their fortunes improved dramatically under Primarch Voro Acetenus of the Unified Order of Cognalorilos. This era brought considerable prosperity and stability, allowing the Atacómoni to flourish while maintaining their profound spiritual practices and traditions. Their society, inherently trustful, thrives in a communal structure, emphasising unity and cooperation, guided by their religious beliefs. This spiritual focus also informs their frugal approach to life, prioritizing spiritual wealth over material possessions, and fostering a strong sense of community and shared purpose among the Atacómoni people.

Bugahoulger[]

BugahoulgerProfile

The three-headed Bugahoulger are one of the most distinct-looking aliens of Cyrannus.

  • Homeworld: Houlga
  • Classification: Insectoid
  • Distinctions: Three heads
  • Spacefaring: 1,563 BNE
  • Cultural Characteristics: Intelligent · Focused · Religious
  • Notable Individuals: None

The Bugahoulger are a peculiar species of winged insectoid species native to the swamps of Houlga. Ascending into space at 1,563 BNE, the race gained a powerful fascination for the Oikoumene, leading them to develop a religious culture revering the precursors. When they encountered the Cogsangui early in their history, the Bugahoulger saw them as like-minded individuals and pledged themselves to their cause without a fight.

Bugahoulger are notable for possessing three heads, each with a separate brain and identity from the other, leading all Bugahoulger to possess three names - one for each identity. The three heads usually work in harmony, but sometimes bicker among themselves, which is sometime seen as amusing by other races. They are a generally friendly species, not keen on violence and being welcoming to those who share their interests, but tend to show a disinterest in anything that does not immediately strike their fancy.

The Bugahoulger have been members of the Cognatus Alliance through its existence, and in the modern day, they are known to live among both the Unified Order of Cognalorilos and the Cognatus Empire; to them, it does not matter who is in charge so long as they are able to continue their research on the Thirteenth Gods.

Caprigrox[]

CaprigroxProfile

The Caprigrox were one of the most horrific instruments of war ever seen in Cyrannus' history.

Main article: Creature:Caprigrox
  • Homeworld: Neraida Core
  • Classification: Android
  • Distinctions: Artificially-assimilated
  • Spacefaring: 01 BNE
  • Cultural Characteristics: Cold · Emotionless · Logical
  • Notable Individuals: Aedanius II of Neraida · Selanius, New Republic Commander

The Caprigrox were a weapon devised by the Cyrannian Neraida who would later serve as one of their many instruments of war as the Neraida Gigamatrix. Created from various Capricyránae abducted across the galaxy during wartime - most of them being Libertus -, these victims would be subject to a horrible transformation which would turn them into cold, emotionless machines dedicated to serving the whims of their Neraida masters.

The mere appearance of the Caprigrox was enough to deeply unsettle most races of Cyrannus, and they were also heavily armed, making them among the most dangerous of the Neraida's weapons. Having been forced into the hive mind of the Gigamatrix's minions, they were also completely unfazed when killing their former kin, having no memory of their past lives. President Apollo and New Republic Commander Selanius are the only known Caprigrox to have ever had their transformations successfully reverted.

The Caprigrox were first created during the Great Cyrannus War, where the Neraida started abducting members from both the Confederacy of Allied Systems and the United Republic of Cyrannus and transforming them into the first generation of Caprigrox to bolster their war effort. The creatures would continue to serve under the Neraida's ranks until the end of the Neraida War, where they were wiped out alongside their masters; their destruction putting an end to the nightmare inflicted upon those who were assimilated by the Gigamatrix.

Carcharaxes[]

CarcharaxesProfile

Considered to be Hapsiimer, or Basileuskin, there are rumours that the long isolationist Carcharaxes have sworn loyalty to a mysterious Imperial remnant operating deep in the far reaches of Cyrannus.

  • Homeworld: Prithor
  • Classification: Hapsiimer
  • Distinctions: Imposing, powerful
  • Spacefaring: 8911 BNE
  • Cultural Characteristics: Aggressive · Territorial · Isolationist

The Carcharaxes are a formidable saurian species native to the arid world of Prithor in the Valin Sector, on the fringes of Cyrannus. Modern Carcharaxan society is characterised by a strong sense of hierarchy and power dynamics. Loyalty is a prized virtue, but it is often reserved for the most powerful individuals, leading to a society where strength and influence are paramount. This societal structure is underpinned by their government, a constitutional dictatorship led by an Executor, who wields almost absolute power and influence. The Executor's rule is enforced by the Prithoran Guard, a pervasive police force that ensures compliance and maintains order throughout their space.

Physically robust and known for their longevity, Carcharaxes are adept at adapting to diverse environments, a trait that has been crucial in their survival and expansion across the Valin Sector. Despite being separated across the galaxy, the Carcharaxes share a close genetic lineage with the Basileus, hinting toward Oikoumene influence in their evolution, and leading to scientists to consider them to be among the Capricyránae.

The prehistory of the Carcharaxes was defined by Phaedric interference in their development, having arrived in the distant Valin Sector through a wormhole linking the sector to the Nandóband Sector of the Outer Rim. The early Carcharaxes worshipped the Phaedra as gods, and the distant travellers were keen to accept their worship, leading to the permeation of Phaedric symbols and esoteric traditions into early Carcharaxan society.

Achieving spacefaring capabilities millennia after the fall of the Phaedric Empire, the Carcharaxes united their homeworld under the flag of the Carcharaxan Hierarchy, which swiftly annihilated rivals to become the dominant power in the Valin Sector, utilising lost Phaedric technology, warships and redoubts to maintain their dominance over the sector. Isolated from the rest of the galaxy by the hyperspace anomolies that permeate the Unknown Regions, the Carcharaxes remained uninvolved in galactic affairs until the aftermath of the Second Great Cyrannus War, when unconfirmed reports emerged that the Carcharaxes, traditionally isolationist, joined a mysterious Imperial remnant. This remnant is believed to uphold the legacy of the Phaedra, operating in the far reaches of the Cyrannus Galaxy.

Cogsangui[]

EhtarProfile

Morin Ehtar, an esteemed example of a Cogsangui.

The Cogsangui are a saurian race native to Cognalorilos in the Zelotes Sector of the Cyrannus Galaxy. A highly advanced culture that revolved around a certain devotion to the Oikoumene as well as a strong code of ethics revolving around personal honour, the Cogsangui are infamous for their involvement in the various incarnations of the Cognatus civilisation throughout history, ranging from the Cognatus Alliance during the Intergalactic War and both the Empire and Unified Order of Cognalorilos in modern times.

Though often considered to be anything but pragmatic, the Cogsangui are a highly intelligent and deeply loyal people who do not always live up to the negative stereotypes surrounding their race. Indeed, under the leadership of Primarch Voro Acetenus, the Cogsangui forms he bedrock of his Order which aims to restore the truly honourable way of life experianced by Cogsangui civilisations prior to alien or ultraterrestrial manipulation. Nevertheless, a sizable portion of the species remains in the xenophobic Cognatus Empire, which aims to destroy those who do not conform to their scriptures. As such, the Cogsangui can either be a strong ally or a relentless enemy.

Draiocht[]

DraiochtProfile

The Draiocht are a race of humanoids native to the planet Róssa, who were once the leaders of a dual-species civilisation known only as the Pact.

  • Homeworld: Róssa
  • Classification: Humanoid
  • Spacefaring: 404 BNE
  • Cultural Characteristics: Intelligent · Spiritual · Meek

The Draiocht, a humanoid species native to Róssa, are characterised by their intelligence, spirituality, and meek disposition. Distinguished by their dark pink skin, purple hair, and elongated, pointed ears, the Draiocht were once prominent leaders of a dual-species civilization known as the Pact, serving as its political leaders while the Hadran'Ari served as their strong arm in the military. This civilization controlled over a hundred colonies in the Unknown Regions of the Cyrannus Galaxy, marking a significant, albeit reclusive, presence in the Róssa Sector.

Isolated from the rest of the galaxy for much of recorded history, this took a dramatic turn during the Dark Times when they were conquered and absorbed into the Cognatus Empire. Despite this, they managed to retain much of their cultural identity and spiritual practices, particularly once their space fell under the rule of the more temperate Unified Order of Cognalorilos. Draiocht society is deeply rooted in their belief that the very stars and the galaxy itself are one great lifeform. This spirituality is often reflected in their art, architecture, and daily rituals, which emphasize harmony, inner peace, and a deep connection with the universe. Their meekness, often mistaken for weakness, is in fact a testament to their strong moral principles and preference for peaceful resolutions over conflict.

Despite the challenges faced during their subjugation by the Cognatus Empire, the Draiocht have shown remarkable resilience. In the modern era, the Draiocht have begun to contribute to the galactic community, sharing their rich cultural heritage and spiritual insights, and playing a role in representing the Cognalorilos Order in the Alliance of Cyrandian Galaxies.

Ecclessoth[]

EcclessothScroll

Though naturally very curious, Ecclessoth society has been long stunted by conformism.

  • Homeworld: Ko'Vena
  • Classification: Reptilian
  • Spacefaring: 454,000 BNE
  • Cultural Characteristics: Intelligent · Proud · Stagnant

The Ecclessoth are a bipedal reptilian species native to the temperate, but swampy planet Ko'Vena in the galactic region of the same name in the Cyrannus Galaxy. Though they are naturally non-violent, they are a physically strong race and have used their brute strength in the past against heretics and non-believers but nowadays instead rely on their vast intellect in everyday life. Highly intelligent, the Ecclessoth have managed to turn their once small empire into one of the largest and most technologically advanced societies in the galaxy.

Male and female Ecclessoth have few external or internal differences and have long been seen as equals in most areas of the Ecclessoth Convocation including religion and government. However, males make up the majority in the armed forces, in which females are relatively rare. Instead, Ecclessoth females focus on acquiring administrative roles. Family is a very important facet of Ecclessoth life with the parents of Ecclessoth hatchlings being honoured as upstanding members of the Convocation's society.

Though naturally very curious, Ecclessoth society has been long stunted by conformism. Luckily in recent years, this trend has begun to reverse, with free-thinking Ecclessoth becoming ever more common. Nevertheless, many Ecclessoth view non-saurians as lower lifeforms.

Hadran-Ari[]

Hadran'ariProfile

Violent and territorial, it was only through ancient Draiocht conquest that the Hadran-Ari became spacefaring.

  • Homeworld: Hadrani
  • Classification: Arthropoid
  • Spacefaring: 311 BNE
  • Cultural Characteristics: Violent · Territorial · Very Strong

The Hadran-Ari are a formidable species of arthropoids native to Hadrani in the northern Róssa Sector, are known for their physical prowess and natural warrior abilities, making them one of the most powerful martial species in the Cyrannus Galaxy. They were uplifted by the Draiocht in 311 BNE to serve as the military backbone of the Pact, a dual-species civilization led by the Draiocht. Characterised by their violent and territorial nature, these attributes that have historically made the Hadran-Ari effective protectors and enforcers.

Despite their strengths, the Hadran-Ari were unable to shield the Pact from the conquering forces of the Cognatus Empire, which overtook the Róssa Sector in 02 NE. This defeat marked a turning point for the Hadran-Ari, leading to their dispersal across the galaxy. Many found a renewed purpose serving as guardians to the Draiocht within the Unified Order of Cognalorilos, continuing their legacy as formidable protectors.

Marinox[]

CyrannianMarinoxProfile

The Marinox of the Cyrannus Galaxy were among the most powerful ever created.

  • Homeworld: Neraida Core
  • Classification: Android
  • Distinctions: Flexible body, artificial muscles
  • Spacefaring: Unknown
  • Cultural Characteristics: Emotionless · Cruel · Machine-like
  • Notable Individuals: Khuenaten, Commandant-Unit · Meketanor, Phaedric Lord

The Cyrannian Marinox were a subspecies of the famous Marinox of the Milky Way Galaxy who inhabited Cyrannus. They were created by the Ermitant Errr, the original creator of the Marinox, in what he believed would be a new brand of servants for the galaxy's colony of Grox. In reality, however, he had been duped by the Cyrannian Neraida, who were posing as Grox at the time, leading them to gain a new form of servant behind the Grox Meta-Empire's backs.

The Cyrannian Marinox are distinct from other types of Marinox for their intimidating appearance and their incredible strength, making them among the most powerful of all Marinox in the Gigaquadrant. Their deep, jet black scales and small, empty black eyes made them a psychological weapon as much as a physical one, and they often served as elite drones in the Neraida's armies.

The existence of the Cyrannian Marinox became known to the rest of the galaxy during the Great Cyrannus War, where the creatures were used by the Neraida in their offensive against the galactic powers. They would continue to serve as one of the Gigamatrix's greatest weapons for the remainder of its existence, though the destruction of the Neraida at the end of the Neraida War led the Marinox to be wiped out with their creators, putting an end to their reign of terror.

Tiranozark[]

TiranozarkProfile

The Tiranozark are feared across the galaxy for their great strength and martial prowess.

Main article: Creature:Tiranozark
  • Homeworld: Tyranikus
  • Classification: Draconic
  • Distinctions: Large size, wings
  • Spacefaring: 7,000 BNE
  • Cultural Characteristics: Militant · Honorable · Ruthless
  • Notable Individuals: Tyrant, Grand Admiral

The Tiranozark are a species of draconic reptilians native to the mountainous world of Tyranikus, located in the Mortiol Supercluster. A race of formidable warriors, they ascended into the stars at around 7,000 BNE in the form of a war-like stratocracy, leading them to clash with their Mortalitas neighbors in a war that would cement a mutual respect between the two races for the following thousand of years. In the modern era, the Tiranozark have been absorbed into the Mortalitas nation and serve as one of their closest allies.

Among the native races of Cyrannus, the Tiranozark are among the most physically impressive, possessing a robust musculature that makes them almost unparalleled in melee combat. However, they are not strong enough to fly with the wings on their backs, which are vestigial organs from their prehistorical times. The Tiranozark are known to look down on those weaker than themselves, and respect strength above all other virtues; to be able to stand up to them means you are a worthy opponent, and as such, worthy of their time and attention.

The Tiranozark have historically shared their political allegiances with the Mortalitas, leading them to be found through the Confederacy of Allied Systems, the Galactic Empire of Cyrannus and the Great Star Dominion. The fall of the Empire led them to lose much influence through the galaxy, though a clever person would never underestimate such a dangerous people, for it would be only a matter of time until they regain their foothold in the galaxy.

Viegar[]

ViegarProfile

The Viegar have been slaves of the Tiranozark for all of their history.

  • Homeworld: Azulus
  • Classification: Synapsid
  • Distinctions: Large wings
  • Spacefaring: 230 BNE
  • Cultural Characteristics: Meek · Servile · Curious
  • Notable Individuals: None

The Viegar are a diminutive race of creatures native to the heavily forested world of Azulus. They had reached their equivalent of the industrial era when they were discovered by the Tiranozark during their conquests, leading their planet to be dominated by the aliens and for the Viegar to be put into slavery at the threat of annihilation.

The average Viegar is only a meter tall, being synapsid creatures who possess distinct, furry wings; they use them both for flight and for defense, as they can launch a small burst of fur out of them that causes strong irritation on non-Viegar, allowing them to escape. Due to their weak strength, the Tiranozark mostly employ them as scouts or saboteurs, taking advantage of their small size and flight to infiltrate enemy lines.

The Viegar have never had any political presence in Cyrannus, forced into a life of servitude to the Tiranozark where they are used for manual labor or as personal assistants. Even the most well-treated among their kind are not allowed to gain positions of power within Tiranozark society.
