I don't really like how this story came out, but oh well. There is much better stuff like this from Jay Allan. Only the first part of 3 is done, and I will be doing the other 2 parts.

Sophia "Hunter" Stockton was in the cafeteria of the Callian Carrier Infinite Bravery when the klaxons sounded. "Attention: the Pirate Consortium is attacking 3 of our colonies. We are going to relieve one of those colonies. Get to your battlestations, we are jumping in a minute." With that, the semi-calm cafeteria erupted into chaos as everyone rushed to their stations, as nobody wanted to be caught in a FTL jump without strapping down. Sophia and the 19 pilots under her command in the Hellfighter squadron rushed to flight deck L1, where their Starlights were. They then lined up in the launch tubes, ready for the FTL to finish.

When the fleet dropped out, the magnets in the tubes activated and fired the Starlights out to the black. "Alright, form up with your wingman, we are going to hit the pirates with a ferocity they will never expect. H7, you are drifting to the left, stay with H8." As the Hellfighter squadron formed up with 8 bombers and 12 fighters, the other 9 squadrons in the Infinte Bravery formed up near their parent craft, with a distance of 5km between each pilot. On her order, they started accelerating towards the enemy, who started fleeing. The fighters chased them, catching up with the distant enemy.

And then, as Sophia Stockton scanned around for threats to her bombers, she noticed a weird signal. Suddenly, 20 pirate fighters fired up reactors and shot out from their hiding place 50km away. "Fighters, we have contact. Remember your training, and fight like hell." With that, she angled her craft to line up with an enemy fighter, who banked 'up' and attempted to get behind her. Sophia fired the immense RCS and reaction wheels in the Starlights, and turned up to face the enemy before pulling the trigger on her lasers. Missed. She aimed again, and managed to score a hit on the fighter, knocking it out. Then another fighter she missed fired at her, and the beam came 5m from her craft: too close. She started randomly jinking, while pulling the controls to get her around to face the enemy. Just as she came around, a massive spike of energy came from the enemy, and it accelerated so much Sophia was confidant the pilot was dead. Just to be sure, she planted a laser in the ship's engines, detonating them. Looking around, her pilots were doing well, only a few more pirate fighters left. One of the other squadrons had defeated its ambush and came to help.

Then 3 missile warnings popped up, all from a craft that had the profile of a bomber. She released flares, which got 2 of the missiles, but the 3rd one kept going. 5km away. She tried doing crazy maneuvers to drain the missile's fuel, but it was still going. 1km away. After 500m more, the missile finally ran out of fuel, and she pivoted away. But Sophia had forgotten about the fighter, who unleashed a barrage of lasers. Wishing for the second time in 30 minutes for the Starlights to have rear lasers, she jinked and turned around to fire. Miss after miss after miss. Then the enemy scored a hit that knocked out one of her RCS, and opened the fuel line for it. She began rapidly spinning, and the enemy lined up for the final shot. Sophia accepted her death at this point, but just then the enemy exploded. "Need some help, Hunter?"said Terry "Warrior" Simmons."Sure," she replied. "Attention Hellfighters, the ambush is clear, lets keep going. The enemy is close, get ready to fire your missiles."

Then massive explosions rocked their fleet, and the captain opened a channel to all fighters "Attention, our engines have failed. Fighters, it is up to you to take out the enemy. Godspeed." With that, the safeties on the engines were lifted to 110%, and all fighters shot forward. After a minute, the fighters got to a pirate destroyer that appeared to have damaged engines. "Alright bombers, head in. Remember to release about 5km away, and jink as much as you can," said Sophia. Then the 8 bombers began their attack. Defensive fire shot out from the destroyer, but none of the bombers were lost. They then released plasma torpedoes, which turn themselves to globs of plasma close to a target. All 80 bombers from Infinte Bravery released their torpedoes, and the destroyer was destroyed. However, all other Pirate craft escaped. Sophia ordered the squadron to head back to the carrier.
