The Borealis Grox are the second most powerful faction of the Borealis Galaxy, after The Junction, and one of the colonies of the Grox Meta-Empire. The Borealis Grox are feared and hated across the whole galaxy for their constant aggression toward other empires.
History
Past
Little is known about the Borealis Grox's distant past. They are though to have first colonized Borealis about 4 billion years ago, led by a Grox King known as Mirras I. This colony acted much like any other Grox faction, protecting the galactic core from outsiders.
During this time, the Grox also fought and killed off The Cold Ones, becoming the most powerful empire in Borealis. After the defeat of the Cold Ones, the Grox slowly mutated into what they look like today.
The Great Purging
The Great Purging against the Zoles Imperium
As the "royal family" changed, King Mirras III became the new Grox King of the galaxy. However, Mirras III was very different from most other Grox. He started to order the empire to expand their standand 2400 colony size and get a more aggressive attitude. The Borealis Grox welcomed these changes.
The Borealis Grox became the biggest superpower of the galaxy. When the Zoles Imperium tried to expand it's influence to the core, the Grox easily defeated them. King Mirras III then ordered what is known as The Great Purging, where all non-Grox life of the core was exterminated. From this day forward, the core was now a death-zone known as "Center of Death".
The empire also got Marinox drones from the Milky Way Grox, but only managed to create their own Life Generator many years later.
Recent history
The Borealis Grox have been quiet in the recent years, not displaying much activity. It is known, however, that a group of Ottzelloan Grox and Ottzelloan Marinox have joined the Borealis Grox Empire, who welcomed them in their ranks.

Their society is also similar to that of the Meta-Empire, except the Borealis Grox are much more centered around the military. The Borealis Grox are born to serve and die for their empire.
Equipment
A Grox Relay
The Borealis Grox use both Meta-Empire ships and Ottzelloan Grox ships such as the Ottzelloan Grox Annihilator and the Ottzelloan Grox Assassin. Like some other Grox colonies, the Borealis Grox also possess Marinox and Conqrix drones.
A notable piece of equipment developed by the Borealis Grox are the "Grox Relays". The original Cold Relays created by the Cold Ones were programmed to attack the Grox if they attempted to use them, but after they were killed off, the Grox managed to develop a hacking device which causes the Relay to work on the reverse: allowing the Grox to use it, and attacking non-Grox species.
These Grox Relays differ from regular Relays for their red and purple colouration. They are mostly located on the Inner Core, but several are also scattered around the galaxy, allowing the Grox to jump from arm to arm to center undetected. It should be noted, however, that the Grox don't need the Relays to travel across the galaxy, only doing it for its convenience and lower energy cost.
