I...have come...with death...at...my...fingertips...Bow...and...Beg!

- Astrolgor

Astrolgor Ironfang, nick-named "Ironbody" and "Astrolgor the Cuckold" behind his back for his deformities and cybernetic contraption that houses his failing body, is one of the leaders of the Sorcerers of Rathan, and one of their oldest and most powerful members, even if his body is slowly failing him. Though once feared and admired by his peers for his limitless power and strength, sabotage by Bahadur Cethannia, lead his body to slowly give out on him, and cause him to have to use a powerful iron cybernetic frame to move and rule over his subjects. His hatred for Bahadur has lead him to wage war on any who so much as mention the Saboteur in his presence. It has also made him desperate, trying to seek out any who could yield the secret to keeping him alive and from death.

Though still an amazing, powerful leader who commands the fear, respect and admiration of his comrades, all of them whisper behind his back that Astrolgor's weakness has cost him, that he is nothing more then a pale shadow of the power he once held. The Master Ironfang has become a desperate, terrified maniac, totally dedicated to fighting for a cure to his body, which is slowly turning to stone due to the manipulation of Bahadur Cethannia.

History[]

Early Life[]

Do not be proud of your victory Astrolgor. Your pride has blinded you to your true potential, and, it will lead to your downfall, the slow collapse before the night.

- Kaamesh's final words

Astrolgor was born on the Rathan colony world of Zharii-Kaleluch, and taken by the Sorcerer-Prophet Kaamesh the Visionary, a human Sorcerer. Kaamesh taunt Astrolgor everything he could think of, teaching him powers of bewitchment, combat and to read and unlock the secrets of countless dark side tomes and relics. But, for all of his power, Astrolgor was insatiable for knowledge and power, even more so then most Rathanii Sorcerer-Lords. Constantly, Kaamesh tried to teach his student patience, to not rush to quickly into things and to be more weary of those around him, but Astrolgor was blessed with far, far more strength then other Sorcerers. Many whispered Astrolgor was the next Warlock-King in the making, something the current holder, Gorgoth the Decapitator, was keenly aware of.

After Astrolgor finally grew tired of his master, he murdered him, killing Kaamesh, though not before the human issued a dire warning to his student, telling him all that would and could accomplish was in vein, and that his pride had already blinded him to his fall. Astrolgor laughed at the worlds of a dying man, and called him a weak dullard.

Gorgoth was aware of Astrolgor's meteoric rise in power, even for his age, as well as the ambitions of the young Bahadus Cethannia. Both were extremely powerful for their age, and both wanted for his throne. Deciding to set them against each other, Gorgoth manipulated events to bring them into each other's presence, and have them annihilate each other. For this, he sent them to an unknown, storm-drenched world in Cyrannus, in the hopes they would die either by each other's aster blades, or by criminal and other elements there.

Confrontation[]

You were always short-sighted Astrolgor. That was always your weakness. Perhaps, as your body turns on you, you'll begin to realize just how much it screwed you over.

- Bahadus taunting Astrolgor before his curse..

Astrolgor and Bahadus sensed each other as they both arrived in the world, and began the search for the relic Gorgoth sent them to. However, after arriving, Gorguth sent out a telepathic message, laughing at both, and telling them their only escape lay with killing the other, and both would kill each other and rid Gorgoth of his greatest challenges. Astrolgor, immediately believing himself superior, went after Bahadus, eager to kill him. Bahadus tried numerous times to warn him to not play into Gorgoth's hands, but Astrolgor did not trust Bahadus, and sought his head.

At their final confrontation, Astrolgor taunted Bahadus' weakness and inability to attain victory, insulting his family, and claiming he would take Bahadus' wife from him and turn her into a pleasure slave, and do much worse to his sons and himself. Bahadus, driven to rage by this, called upon his anger and rage, and seared half of Astrolgor's face off, before stabbing him in the stomach with his Aster Blade. Astrolgor taunted him to finish him off, as was the way of the Rathanii, but Bahadus had a different idea. He weaved his powers into Astrolgor's body, weaving a slow-acting curse into his body that would cause it to slowly but surely turn to stone against his will. Bahadus knew the cure for such a disease, but would not give it to Astrolgor, until he agreed to serve Bahadus' goals.

Figuring Bahadus was bluffing, and could be killed later if he gained his trust, Astrolgor agreed to Bahadus' offer to make him a powerful, and the two were able to leave the world. They headed back to the Sorcerer's palaces on Rathan, Astrolgor's downfall, unknowingly, already beginning.

Gorgoth's End[]

When Bahadur arrived, he made a promise to Astrolgor, that, Bahadur would defeat Gorgoth, and then Astrolgor would be free to challenge Bahadur and try to claim the title of Warlock-King for himself. Astrolgor agreed to such an ideal, and went back to his palace to recover, as Bahadur traveled to Gorgoth's Grand palace to settle their disagreement. Astrolgor laughed at Bahadur's short-sighted belief that he could be trusted. He planned to, once Bahadur killed Gorgoth, or one killed the other, to come and challenge the victor right after their battle when they weak and broken, and reveal in their struggles before the end. He sat within his palace, enjoying whine and other fine hedonic pleasures.

As Bahadur prepared himself for facing Gorgoth, Astrolgor sampled his finest wine, eager for his coming victory. Then, after many hours, he was informed by other Sorcerers that Gorgoth had fallen to Bahadur's blade and abilities, burning his whole body to ash and cinder. Astrolgor merely laughed to himself, and gathered up his armor and cloak, and appeared before the Conclave with the other Sorcerer-Lords and Sorcerer-Prophets. While there, Bahadur announced his victory, holding his Aster blade and staff aloft for the gathered Lords and Prophets and their Pawns to see, when Astrolgor strode forward, issuing his challenge that he was promised by Bahadur.

Rather then accepting, Bahadur merely laughed, stepping towards Astrolgor, and stepping on his foot. Astrolgor barely felt anything, and leapt back, shocked. He used his Aster blood to immediately slice off his own boot, to reveal his foot had begun to turn to stone, the tips of it grey and resembling granite. Bahadur laughed, revealing he had laid a curse upon Astrolgor's body during their first duel. If Astrolgor attacked him, Bahadur would not reveal the cure or take it with him into the grave. So long as he served, Bahadur promised Astrolgor that he would, in exchange for the Sorcerer-Lord's loyalty, cure his body.

Forced into subservience, Astrolgor begrudgingly accepted, and was forced to become a support of Bahadur, sacrificing much of his power and political clout for a chance to cure his body. Over the years, his body would rapidly fall apart, first his legs, then much of his arms, then his lungs and many internal organs failing as he went along, soon becoming incapable of moving on his own without help. He constructed a vast cybernetic apparatus to hold his body and keep his body from failing in total, as well as numerous exo-skeletal limbs to act in the place of his failing ones.

Service to Kirata[]

With the death of Bahadur, Astrolgor's desperation turned into mania, his only cure for his horrific condition now gone. Though he had a few more centuries left, he needed to find a way to reverse and cure the effects on his ailing body, or begin to study what was being dubbed Essence Transfer. It was forbidden art, a mystery to most, but the highest ranking Sorcerers dabbled with, as it was a source of unlimited power and ability to bring about the annihilation of their foes, regardless of their own deaths and destruction, to create ceaseless cycle of annihilation, rebirth, and further annihilation. Astrolgor would study all of this intently, trying his best to get the cure, by any measure.

Kirata had no clue had to cure or make his body work again, hence his misery and desperation for a strong body once more. As his body grew weaker, his powers of Dark Alchemy also suffered. Despite, Astrolgor remained one of the most powerful Sorcerer-Lords, even his ailing body keeping him above the powerful, younger Sorcerers unable to compete with his age and experience.

Traits[]

Personality[]

Astrolgor is a determined and maniac character, determined to win and gain back his working and healthy body, regardless of who stands in his way. While once hedonistic, self-indulgent and prone to consuming the finest foods and drinks for his whole ends, today, Astrolgor has given up most of that for twofold reasons. For one, his ailing body and systems simply can't let him enjoy the finest foods anymore, and he must resign himself to simple life support within his cybernetic cage-walker. The second, is his all-consuming desire for immortality and to stave off death has made him utterly incapable of even thinking pleasure any longer.

Any who stand in the way of potential immortality and a cure for his ill are immediately destroyed and murdered to get what he wants. He will suffer no insult or undercutting, and those that speak positively or Bahadur or of Astrolgor's suffering and affiliation will suffer the fate of torture and misery at his hand. Though he follows the orders Kirata gives her, these are mostly out of a manic hope that he can reclaim his life and position of power, not out of actual loyalty, and actively hates her existence. She and her siblings are merely reminders of what Bahadur has that he could, family, a legacy, and power of his own, before his betrayal. All of this, denied to him because of his short-sightedness.

Appearance[]

Astrolgor's central body and head resemble the Standard Rathanii, with the exception that his face is broader, and bears twin tusks. Everything else, including his arms and legs, have been turned to stone, and rendered useless. To keep active and moving, he has constructed a massive cybernetic frame connected to his spine that gives him artificial arms and legs. This makes him taller then most Rathanii, though the effects of the curse have also made him more haggard and sallow-looking compared to the rest of his kin. Due to parts of his lungs and stomach turning to stone, he speaks with long pauses and rasps, groaning and grunting with every word.

Equipment[]

Astrolgor's body is protected by a cybernetic frame, that overlaps and connects into his stone-like limbs, as well as connecting directly into his chest, spine and back of his skull. Locked into his right hand is a mighty battlehammer that channels his powers and acts as a melee weapon, while the other hand can be changed out and trade for other weapons and tech pieces to support his troops and powers, and break down his foes.
