We all think we're perfect snowflakes, but fundamentally all species are the same.

- 1st Bugzezene Emperor Clikin

The Arthropod Alliance is a small Empire founded by the Uropygran chief Kal'gyr'gyrzen and the Vespinite captain Vvenboaz , who both had similar interests. The Arthropod Alliance's main goal is to eliminate all xenophobia so the majority of the races in the universe can become allies.

History[edit | edit source]

The Vespinite Empire had adapted a new type of Hyperdrive, one far faster than the normal hyperdrive. Captain Vvenboaz was assigned to test this new Hyperdirve, which had been dubbed "Hyperflight". Only days after his assignment, he gave all his friends a kind farewell and became captain of the "U.S.S. Hyperflight X". He often tells of the moment before he engages: “The Pilot murmured something in my ear, but I didn't listen, I was too excited. I knew this was a great breakthrough in space travel, I didn't even want to image what we could do with it. So, I reached toward the red lever titled "Engage Hyperflight", a took a deep breath, and then grabbed it quickly, pulling it back as far as possible... maybe a bit too far. You see, it broke, and Hyperflight decelerates by pushing the lever forward, and accelerates by pushing it backwards. Now it was stuck in max acceleration, and soon the crew broke into panic. Then, we hit something, and I blacked out...

- Vvenboaz

The U.S.S. Hyperflight X had landed on the planet Uropia, on impact it destroyed much of the life on the planet, leaving it barren. The crew of the U.S.S. Hyperflight X felt bad about this, and after a long political compaign the Vespinites and the Uropygrans forgave eachother and banned together in an attempt to restore the planet's environment. While all attempts failed, the Vespinites and Uropygrans we're no longer separate, and from then on they were known as the Arthropod Alliance.

It was decided an emperor would be elected to represent each individual species, and so High Chief Kal'gyr'gyrzen was elected as the Uropygran Emperor and Captain Vvenboaz was elected as the Vespinite Emperor. Kal'gyr'gyrzen was the one that set the template for the Alliance's anti-Xenophobia policies, as he and his race were quite intelligent, but hadn't yet entered the Space Stage simply because other races had been stunting their growth with horrible wars simply because they felt they were different. Vvenboaz set the template for the ecological policies, as he felt bad about what happened to Uropia, as something similar had happened on his planet, only a meteor was the culprit.

Vvenboaz and Kal'gyr'gyrzen served until the end of their life, and they died only days apart. A Uropygran politician Y'ral'yix'y'al and a Vespinite animal rights activist Vinvriik'ir followed in their wake. Not long after the duo's election, that a scout ship made contact with a group of uplifted Bugzezenes , who were nearly destroyed by one of the Uropygran's old enemies, simply because the Uropygrans weren't so easy to pick on anymore. Feeling bad about this, Emperor Y'ral'yix'y'al offers them full membership in the Arthropod Alliance, and because they were already starting to dissolve, the Bugzezenes accepted. The Alliance was renamed BUVD (Bugzezene Urop Vespinite Democracy) until two other races joined and it was then re-named the Arthropod Alliance.

Culture[edit | edit source]

With five major races, and uncountable minor races, the Arthropod Alliance obviously is a mix of various cultures.

Religion[edit | edit source]

While their is freedom of religion in the Arthropod Alliance, most of the members believe in Agnostic theism. The one exception are Bugzezenes, who are almost never agnostic theists, atheists or even freethinkers. While many also believe in other religions, pretty much all Bugzezenes believe in a "Spirit" of justice and vengeance, which is sometimes worshiped as a god, but is usually just thanked for bringing vengeance to the Bugzezene people, or just right out emulated by them.

Sports[edit | edit source]

Sports are not incredibly popular in the alliance, however, Sporeball and some other sports are played.

Education[edit | edit source]

In the Arthropod Alliance, for their early lives larvae are taught vigorously by their guardians, until they are deemed "Intel Level Thirty-eight", where they are put into public school. "Intel Level Forty" and "Intel Level Thirty-nine" are always homeschooled, and the only difference between the two is that level thirty-nines are considered smarter than level forties. Age has no say in the Intel Level, only intelligence. Slowly, the Larvae descend the complex Intel Levels, until at Intel Level Twenty-four they can get a degree in simple jobs, and then in Intel Level Eighteen and Seven they can get more complex jobs, and at Intel Level Zero they can get a profession in whatever type of job they prefer.

  • The Arthropod Alliance's "at war" greeting is very similar to the KGGC's "at war" greeting. This was unintentional.
