The Antroth Empire is a member of the United Knights Alliance
“We fight battles because they must be fought.”

The Antroth Empire, also known as the Empire of Farmia, is an empire located within the Tyris Major galaxy. It is a founding member of the United Knights Alliance, Unified Alliance of Enlightenment, and the Federation of Free States. The Antroth Empire has endured for thousands of years and is among the most powerful of empires in the galaxy. It shares a lot of cultural similarities with its precursor state, the Kingdom of Spydoria.

Pre-History[]

Spydorian-Crictorian War[]

In the ancient days of the planet Farmia there existed many nations made up of various peoples. The Kingdom of Spydoria, the precursor of the Antroth Empire, was among these nations. The Spydorian people were multi-racial merchants and shamans that were united by an overarching culture, and were respected by their neighbors.

For years, the Crictorian Empire, an extremely violent and expansionist nation began to antagonize the Spydorians and their allies. Queen Sil’Cana, the ruler of the Kingdom of Spydoris at the time, attempted to broker a peace with Emperor Kur’Yovin, leader of the Crictorian Empire by offering trade goods and an alliance. Unfortunately, Emperor Kur’Yovin would settle for no less than the total vassalization of the Kingdom of Spydoris. Queen Sil’Cana heavily considered these terms, as her kingdom was not particularly militarily powerful. While she was initially a beloved leader by her people and allies, began to lose favor due her inaction as the Crictorians began to attack Spydorian trade caravans and border towns.

The beginning of the Spydorian-Crictorian War was officially declared by Emperor Kur’Yovin in 4892 BC. Queen Sil’Cana, while she was a fantastic peacetime ruler, was ineffective at organizing military strikes, which was not helped by the sheer numbers and skill of the Crictonian warriors. The daughters of Queen Sil’Cana, Princess Vi’Serra and Princess Ra’Tana began to teach special divisions of soldiers the secret magics of their family. These soldiers, known as mystics would prove to be quite effective against the Crictorian forces, but they would not be enough with magic alone.

According to the scribes of the era, Princess Vi’Serra discovered a ritual that would allow her to alter the forms of herself and other Spydorians. She believed that this was the only way to truly save their people from subjugation. Many Spydorian and non-Spydorian warriors and mystics volunteered to participate in this ritual, however Princess Ra’Tana and a few of her loyal followers refused. These altered individuals were bigger, stronger, faster, and more resilient than they were prior to undergoing the ritual. These new soldiers would later be known as the first generation of Antroths.

With the physical superiority of the Antroths working alongside the Spydorians and their allies, the Crictorians were routed and pushed back into their own lands, ending the Spydorian-Crictorian War in 4888 BC.

History[]

Reign of Empress Vi'Serra[]

Queen Sil’Cana ruled the Kingdom of Spydoria until her passing in 4872 BC. Princess Ra’Tana was expected to inherit the throne, however, before her death, Queen Sil’Cana named Princess Vi’Serra as her successor. Initially known as Queen Vi’Serra of Spydoria, she set out to rebuild the damage done to the kingdom and bring peace to all of Farmia.

Unification of Farmia[]

Queen Vi’Serra worked with the allied nations that joined their fight against the Crictorian Empire and managed to incorporate them as vassal nations under the banner of Spydoris. This new empire would stretch across Farmia over the course of 40 years. This was done mostly through making deals with weaker nations and forcing those more inclined to violence to kneel with the might of the kingdom’s ever-growing Antroth population.

By the year 4832 BC, the Empire of Farmia was established with Empress Vi’Serra as its first ruler

Expansion into the Stars[]

In 4785 BC, the Empire of Farmia began its exploration into space. Initially, explorers and colonists began setting up mining settlements on moons and planets in the Empire’s home system of Sectari. Some breakthroughs into terraforming would be made thanks to a handful of scientists who happened to practice magic in their spare time, but nothing that was immediately useful. Empress Vi’Serra saw potential in a more magically informed populace, something her sister Princess Ra’Tana disagreed with publicly.

Founding of the Farmian Mystic Order[]

In 4777 BC, the Farmian Mystic Order was founded by Empress Vi’Serra as an official organization that specializes in teaching and regulating the use of magic, which the Order dubbed the “Mystic Arts”.

The order was responsible for many breakthroughs in terraforming, offensive, restorative, and other variations of magic. Such breakthroughs made expanding the Empire of Farmia into space much easier.

Reigns of Empress Sa’Ruuta and Empress Vi’Kaali[]

Empress Vi’Serra ruled the Empire of Farmia for almost 300 years. Unfortunately, she would later succumb to a severe illness in 4596 BC. For the next 2,000 years, the Empire of Farmia would expand, endure, and prosper as the galaxy changed around them.

During this time, the imperial crown was passed to Empress Vi’Serra’s daughter, Empress Sa’Ruuta who would rule from 4596 BC to 3348 BC. Empress Sa’Ruuta’s reign was mostly peaceful, and she was known as “Sa’Ruuta the Kind” due to her focus on expanding the empire’s farming sector. This expansion would eventually set up the empire as one of the galaxy’s greatest providers of food. Thousands of years later, Sa’Ruuta’s reforms would remain intact, and the empire became a cornerstone of the galactic market.

Upon Empress Sa’Ruuta’s death, again due to illness, her daughter Empress Vi’Kaali inheirited the throne.. Empress Vi’Kaali reigned from 3348 BC to 2010 BC. Empress Vi’Kaali was a much more martial oriented empress, having gravitated towards her father’s teachings more so than her mother’s Kin-House’s natural affinity for the Mystic Arts. She would lead expansions into space that resulted in minor conflicts with more primitive civilizations. Empress Vi’Kaali studied the Empire of Farmia’s neighbors, noticing that they could be threats if they chose to declare war on her empire. Empress Vi’Kaali expanded the Mystic Order, creating an organized military branch that specialized in harnessing and developing offensive magic. She also had the primary military reinforced using the income granted from her late mother’s trade deals.

Empress Vi’Kaali would later die of unknown causes, though it is suspected that she was assassinated by some type of untraceable magic. Empress Xi’Quii, eager to take the throne, was crowned in 2010 BC, and would have a much more eventful rule in comparison to her late grandmother and mother.

Reign of Empress Xi'Quii[]

Empress Xi’Quii is one of the most controversial individuals to ever live in Tyris Major. Her childhood was marred with lesions of Antroth superiority by her mentors, and she was not opposed to delving into the darker side of the Mystic Arts or performing tasks that most would consider immoral.

Empress Xi’Quii began her reign in 2010 BC with multiple racially bigoted political reforms. Where the Antroths stood as equals amongst the various races of the Empire of Farmia, Empress Xi’Quii believed that Antroths were superior to the other races in every way. She initially slowly restricted what species could be inducted into the Farmian Mystic Order. She would also make it more difficult for non-Antroths to enlist in the armed forces by raising the minimum physical requirements to that which nearly only Antroth men could meet. This would later be known as the Antroth Mystic Order.

Empress Xi’Quii’s racism did not go unnoticed forever, though by the time any activism could take place, Antroths occupied the upper echelons of the military, commercial sectors, and the nobility. Even a few of the traditionally non-Antroth vassal states were now led by noble Antroth kin-houses

By the year 1978 BC, the Empire of Farmia would be known formally as the Antroth Empire, due to the increased population and political presence of the Antroth people.

The Great Conquest[]

The Great Conquest was a period of violent expansionism led by Empress Xi’Quii that took place between 1960 BC and 1852 BC. This 108 year period was marred with conflicts started by the Antroth Empire as an effort to strong-arm their way onto the galactic stage. These conflicts were waged against mostly small and insignificant space nations that were initially integrated into the Antroth Empire. The peoples of these nations were given second-class citizenships like the rest of the non-Antroth citizens.

While looked back on as an example of the brutality and racism of the young Antroth Empire, modern historians acknowledge that the atrocities carried out during the Great Conquest are what paved the way for the Antroth Empire to become a formidable force on the galactic stage.

When the conquests ended, the imperial borders began to reach the borders of nations such as the Biskin Empire and the Hyperon Grand-Khanate, which would lead to tensions in the future.

Antroth Imperial Civil War[]

Disgusted with the way non-Antroths were treated by Empress Xi’Quii’s regime, a massive portion of Spydorians launched a rebellion in an attempt to restore the equal rights values of the old Empire of Farmia. Empress Xi’Quii was not amused by this development, and refused to surrender to the rebels. 1823 BC marked the start of the Antroth Imperial Civil War.

Most Antroths living at the time were undyingly loyal to Empress Xi’Quii, and fought at her command against the rebel forces. The war proved to be an extremely bloody conflict, however, the Antroth forces would put the rebellion down in 1819 BC.

Empress Xi’Quii saw herself as being “benevolent” in her previous treatment of non-Antroths. And now that the non-Antroths betrayed her, she would retaliate with unmatched fury.

The Great Purge

In 1818 BC, Empress Xi’Quii set in motion her most radical edict to date. She ordered the extermination of all non-Antroths within the borders of the Antroth Empire. This act would be known as the Great Purge. Many non-Antroths living on the outskirts of the empire were able to flee from the Empress’ wrath. However, those who lived in systems close to Farmia would find themselves killed in their own homes by Antroth death squads, or rounded up as test subjects for Empress Xi’Quii’s dark rituals.

Spydorians faced the worst of the Great Purge, as they were actively hunted down even if they fled Antroth territories. Empress Xi’Quii believed that Spydorians were a constant reminder that Antroths used to be weak and therefore they do not have the right to exist.

Not every Antroth went along with the Great Purge, however, as a few kin-Houses aided many non-Antroth families in secret by helping them escape imperial territories. Many of the younger Antroths actually publicly refused to take part in the purge and protested it on their homeworlds. Empress Xi’Quii paid them no mind, however, as she saw this as “the ignorance of the youth.”

The Great Purge lasted for 200 years, ending only when the last known Spydorian, the leader of the rebellion and a descendant of Princess Ra’Tana was killed by Empress Xi’Quii herself.

Hyperon-Antroth War[]

In 1609 BC, Empress Xi’Quii would retaliate against the Hyperon Grand Khanate due to their constant raids on the Antroth Empire’s border territories in a conflict known as the Hyperon-Antroth War. Great-Khan Wark believed that the Antroth Empire held vast riches and valuable slaves in the form of the Antroth people themselves.

Initially, the Antroth Empire’s forces had difficulty dealing with the superior fleets and hardened foot soldiers of the Hyperon Grand Khanate. However, once Antroth Mystics were deployed to aid their male warrior counterparts in ground battles, they proved to be more than a match for the raw strength and skill of their foes. Great-Khan Wark was known to actually take to the field himself, cutting down hundreds of Antroths in his wake.

Empress Xi’Quii later learned of the Grand Khanate’s warrior culture via her spies, and put in place a plan to convince Great-Khan Wark to face her in single combat. The terms of her duel were that if the Great-Khan defeated the Empress, that the Antroth Empire would surrender and become a part of the Grand Khanate. However, if she was victorious, the Grand Khanate would have to cease hostilities. Great-Khan Wark believed that he would win easily against her, so he accepted her challenge.

The two rulers met in neutral territory overlooked by members of their nations and even some onlookers from neutral nations. The duel itself was roughly 10 minutes long, with Great-Khan Wark’s superior physical strength and agility being a challenge for Empress Xi’Quii’s more methodical approach to combat. However, Great-Khan Wark’s advantage faltered as Empress Xi”Quii unleashed a torrent of dark and forbidden techniques from the Mystic Arts. The Great-Khan met his end at the hands of the Empress, as he was no match for the dark powers she possessed.

A few of the lesser Khans attacked the empress, pelieving that if one of them could avenge the late Great-Khan Wark that they would be elevated to Great-Khan themselves. Unfortunately for them they were no match for her dark arts. With a portion of the leadership of the Grand Khanate’s kratocracy taken out in one fell swoop, the nation spiraled into chaos as the remaining Khans began fighting amongst each other in civil wars in an attempt to establish a new Great-Khan

In this chaos, the Antroth Empire delivered devastating blows to the now fractured Hyperon Grand Khanate by attacking Khans while their fleets were worn down from fighting a rival Khan. It is believed that thousands if not millions of Grand Khanate warriors and citizens perished in the Antroth Empire’s wake.

The war ended in 1600 BC with an Antroth victory, after Empress Xi’Quii and her royal council decided that the war was no longer profitable nor enjoyable for her to partake in. Antroth forces pulled out of their military occupations of Grand Khanate resources and left their foes to fight amongst themselves.

Farmian Renaissance

An era of relative peace and prosperity known as the Farmian Renaissance occurred shortly after the Hyperon Antroth War. During the war, Antroth forces looted  the caches of the various Khans that died fighting against them. These caches contained a bounty of technology, treasures, and knowledge that the Khans themselves stole from other nations.

This gave the Antroth Empire access to some of the technology created by nations such as the Grand Republic of Tyris Major, the Soldarian Empire and the Biskin Empire. This technology was quite advanced compared to the Antroth Empire’s own and was reverse engineered for their own use. Firearms, melee weapons, spaceship technologies, and even recreational technologies were studied and improved upon by Antroth scientists.

The Antroth Empire would also set up trade networks with the Grand Republic of Tyris Major, the Soldarian Empire, and the Biskin Empire in order to make a profit on selling the nations back their stolen goods. The Soldarian Empire only remained trade partners for a short while, however, as they were not comfortable with conducting business with Empress Xi’Quii after discovering her involvement during the events of the Great Purge.

Despite this setback, the Antroth Empire experienced a boom in wealth and prosperity. The Antroth Mystic Order was able to dedicate more time to studying the Mystic Arts due to the long peace. Antroths that were destined to be artists, philosophers, and explorers were born. Their contributions to Antroth society would make the Antroth Empire the envy of nations that sought knowledge and pursued the fine arts. This era lasted for what Antroth historians refer to as  “a glorious 600 years.”

Alliance with the Biskin Empire

In 946 BC, Empress Xi’Quii established an alliance with High-King Ziskin of the Biskin Empire after many centuries of maintained trade and cooperation. The two rulers were reportedly very good friends, and believed that their alliance would grow to rival the Grand Republic of Tyris Major one day.

This alliance would be maintained for centuries, deterring threats such as the slowly healing Hyperon Grand Khanate and the formidable Soldarian Empire.

Exaltation of the Empress

During Empress Xi’Quii’s reign, she had been growing her powers as a mystic. Supposedly she had discovered the “truth” and knew of a way to ascend to godhood. A few Antroth Mystics formed something of a cult around her, worshiping her as a god in the making.

However, many generations of Antroths had come and cone by this point, and the younger more numerous generation was not convinced of Empress Xi’Quii’s claims. The popular opinion of the empress began to decline, which was initially unheard of in modern Antroth society. To prove a point, Empress Xi’Quii began what she called the “exaltation process”, claiming that by the end of it, she would be a god and that the nations of the galaxy would bow before her majesty.

Assassination of Empress Xi'Quii

In 633 BC, High-King Ziskin’s annoyance at Empress Xi’Quii’s claims of attaining godhood had reached their limits. The high council of the Biskin Empire was not pleased with the notion that she would rule over all of the nations of Tyris Major, especially since conquering the galaxy was a part of the grand plan of the Biskin Empire. High-King Ziskin, after conferring with his agents and his advisors, decided that dealing with this would-be god before her ascension was the best move to make, regardless of if her claims were true or not. High-King Ziskin would eventually hire master assassin Crow Daxur to assassinate Empress Xi’Quii.

Crow managed to kill Empress Xi’Quii after engaging in combat with her, ending her reign. At the time, it was unknown who sent Crow to assassinate the late empress, and the imperial throne was passed down to one of Empress Xi’Quii’s daughters, Ta’Narra.

Reign of Empress Ta'Narra[]

In 632 BC, Empress Ta’Narra was crowned as the empress of the Antroth Empire.  Unlike her mother, Empress Ta’Narra was more accepting of other species and generally did not study the dark side of the Mystic Arts. However, she was not a very strong leader when it came to dealing with her ally High-King Ziskin.

With Empress Xi’Quii’s death, the initially fair trades and compromises made with the Biskin Empire became more and more unfair to the Antroth Empire. Empress Ta’Narra lacked the spine to stand up to High-King Ziskin initially, but as the years passed and she became more bold and challenged the High-King on these matters.

Her reign saw a decrease in the initially racist and militaristic propaganda that the Antroth Empire was known for. While Empress Ta’Narra was unpopular amongst the more conservative members of Antroth society, she was much more popular with the progressive majority.

Tyrisian Triad

For the next 200 years, Empress Ta’Narra ruled in relative peace and maintained a strained relationship with the Biskin Empire. However, their alliance would be shaken when High-King Ziskin forged an alliance with the hive mind of The Infectant Horde. Empress Ta’Narra voiced her concerns about such an alliance, but High-King Ziskin ignored her and strong-armed her into agreeing to ally with the horde. This marked the formation of the Tyrisian Triad in 422 BC.

Initially, the Antroth Empire attempted to cooperate with the Infectant Horde with trade. However, this alliance caused the Antroth Empire’s trade network to collapse, as the Grand Republic of Tyris Major had long ago declared the Infectant Horde and any who would ally with them as threats to galactic peace. The growing Volver Empire would also declare the Tyrisian Triad as their enemy due to their relationship with the Biskin Empire. The Soldarian Empire, being allies of the Volver Empire, also declared the Tyrisian Triad as an enemy. The Hyperon Grand-Khanate had also recovered from their massive defeat at the hands of Empress Xi’Quii, and posed a present danger once more.

Empress Ta’Narra, while confident that the Tyrisian Triad combined could deal with the Hyperon Grand Khanate, she was not sure how well they would fare in open war against the likes of the Grand Republic of Tyris Major. She also was not pleased with the economical decline caused by the Antroth Empire’s trade deals with the Grand Republic being severed. While the Grand Republic was unaware of how involved the Infectant Horde was in the Tyrisian Triad, they did not want to risk being attacked by the Grand Republic if they ever found out.

The Infectant Horde was also an issue within the Triad, as trading with them always posed the threat of an outbreak  across the empire. High-King Ziskin was also not nearly as cooperative with Empress Ta’Narra as he used to be, since he and the hive mind outnumbered her at meetings on decisions and ignored her concerns when it came to politics.

Triad Civil War[]

In 400 BC, Empress Ta’Narra had enough of the problems caused by being a part of the Triad. She attempted to formally have the Antroth Empire leave the Tyrisian Triad, however, High-King Ziskin refused to allow this. Empress Ta’Narra, refusing to allow a foreign ruler to dictate how her own nation behaved any longer, declared war on the Triad. This was known as the Triad Civil War.

The Antroth Empire’s forces proved to be a match for the likes of the Biskin’s own. However, with the Infectant Horde backing them, the Biskin Empire was able to claim victories across Antroth Empire space. The Antroth soldiers that fell at the hands of Infectant forces were simply raised as Infectant thralls and used against their former comrades. The war was long, bloody and the Antroth Empire, even with their Mystic Arts, was unable to win important battles against the Biskin and Infectants.

In 390 BC, the Antroth Empire surrendered after holding out against Triad forces for a decade.

Execution of Empress Ta'Narra[]

Due to the Antroths’ betrayal of the Triad, High-King Ziskin decided that the Antroth Empire would better serve the Tyrisian Triad as a vassal to the Biskin Empire. Empress Ta’Narra, her sisters, and many of her daughters refused to submit to the Biskin Empire’s demands. High-King Ziskin, commended her defiance as bold, but foolish, and had her publicly executed on Farmia. When High-King Ziskin demanded the submission of Empress Ta’Narra’s heirs, they also defied him and were executed.

This continued for days after the empress’ death, as Elite Biskin soldiers purged Kin-House Aentanaa and other noble Kin-Houses to send a message of Biskin authority and superiority to the Antroth Empire. After the deaths of almost all of the members of the royal Kin-House, Si’Daal, the youngest of Empress Ta’Narra’s daughters submitted to the demands of the Biskin Empire in order to save her family and her people from extinction.

Reign of Empress Si'Daal[]

Vassalage to the Biskin Empire[]

Crowned in 390 BC, not by the Antroth royal council, but by High-King Biskin himself, Empress Si’Daal became the ruler of the Antroth Empire. She was the youngest Empress to sit the throne, and the first empress to allow a man to be her superior. The Biskin Empire now had a say in the laws and actions of the Antroth Empire. The Biskin treated the Antroth people as their lessers, so much so that Biskin citizens had more rights than Antroth citizens within Antroth Empire territories.

The Infectant Horde was also able to move easier through Antroth Empire space, which was initially restricted when the Antroths were their own sovereign nation. While infections and smaller outbreaks did happen, the Biskin Empire did surprisingly put restrictions on how many Antroths the Infectants could consume each given year.

Empress Si’Daal, while she was allowed to attend Triad meetings, she was not allowed to cast her vote when decisions had to be made. In her inexperience and unwillingness to fight against the Triad, Empress Si’Daal was initially seen as a weak empress. Despite this, she attempted to expose the Triad’s atrocities and involvement with the Infectant Horde to the wider galactic community multiple times, however these attempts were thwarted and her life was threatened by High-King Ziskin.

This vassalage would continue for another 1500 years, and was seen as the darkest age in Antroth History. Despite Empress Si’Daal’s outward weakness, she would gather strength over this long period of time in secret. While the Antroth Empire could not hope to challenge the Triad outright, Empress Si’Daal bided her time, waiting for an opportunity to free the Antroths from their oppression.

Biskin-Hyperon War

In 1123 AD, the Biskin Empire had been causing problems on the fringes of Hyperon-controlled space. Great-Khan Kanok declared open war on the Biskin and began mobilizing troops towards Biskin controlled space. This conflict was known as the  Biskin Hyperon War. The Infectants stayed out of offensive battles but would thrive on slaughtering Grand Khanate prisoners of war. The Antroths were forced to join the conflict by High-King Ziskin, however they were primarily used as a defense force.

The Hyperon Grand Khanate was unable to really do any lasting damage to the Biskin Empire, and began losing the war. Empress Si’Daal had no love for the Hyperon Grand Khanate, but she hated the Biskin even more. She saw the war as an opportunity to destabilize the Triad and expose their actions. Empress Si’Daal had her agents' plant information about a Death World in the data networks of the Grand Khanate. A young leader of the nation, Khan Vaas received the information and attacked the Death World. While he was unable to capture it, he managed to broadcast his findings to the greater galactic community in an attempt to end a war.

After seeing the broadcast, the Grand Republic of Tyris Major entered the conflict as a mediator. They demanded a ceasefire in order to investigate the Death Worlds. The Biskin Empire reluctantly agreed to this and went on full damage control mode to avoid violent retaliation from the much more powerful Grand Republic. The Death Worlds, which were massive resources for the Infectant Horde, were glassed by the Biskin Empire. Horde leadership was not notified that the Biskin were going to do this, and were extremely annoyed with their actions.

The war ended rather inconclusively thanks to the actions of Empress Si’Daal and Khan Vaas. The Tyrisian Triad was now on shaky ground with the most powerful nation in the galaxy, and the Infectant Horde was weakened thanks to the loss of most of the Death Worlds. High-King Ziskin and the Infectant hive mind were unaware of Empress Si’Daal’s involvement in the information leak, however it became unspoken knowledge amongst the Antroth people that their empress was indeed planning a rebellion.

High-King Ziskin’s stranglehold on the Antroth Empire weakened during this time, allowing Empress Si’Daal to send more of her agents out into the galaxy.

Unlikely Friends[]

In 1158 AD, Khan Vaas won a conflict known as the Vaas-Kanok War, which established him as the new Great-Khan of the Hyperon Grand Khanate. Empress Si’Daal and Great-Khan Vaas began secret communications with each other after via her agents. They both acknowledged their roles in the outcome of Biskin-Hyperon War, and Great-Khan Vaas also noted that Si’Daal’s information and his own actions caused Emperor Pulporious V of the Soldarian Empire to spare his life during the Soldarian-Hyperon War..

He promised to stand with her should she choose to rebel against the Tyrisian Triad, though mentioned that it would take some time for the Grand Khante to regain its strength after the civil war he just won. Empress Si’Daal acknowledged this and agreed to continue to wait for the perfect moment to strike.

War of Tyris Major[]

In 1275 AD, The Biskin Empire launched an invasion of the Volver Empire in an attempt to subjugate them once more. The Infectant Horde and Antroth Empire joined the war due to their ties with the Triad. The Soldarian Empire joined the war as well due to their alliance with the Volver Empire. The Hyperon Grand Khanate, believing that they had a score to settle with the Biskin Empire, joined the side of the Soldarians and Volver.

While the Antroth did fight vigorously in battles alongside the Triad’s forces, Empress Si’Daal was very vocal towards High-King Ziskin about the pointlessness of the war. He initially let this slide, believing that the Antroths would fight for him regardless of Empress Si’Daal’s protests.

Despite her feelings towards the Biskin, Empress Si’Daal and the overall Antroth Empire were not fans of the militaristic and expansionist Soldarians, nor the upstart Volver Empire. And even though she and Great-Khan Vaas were on friendly terms, this did not mean that all members of either of their nations agreed with working together.

Due to the Infectant Horde’s forces growing with each defeated soldier, the Grand Republic of Tyris Major got involved in the war. This escalated the conflict into a galactic war between all of the major powers in the galaxy.

The Battle of Loras was considered by Antroth historians and soldiers as the bloodiest battle of the war. Loras was a colony owned by the Violaven Union, a member of the Grand Republic of Tyris Major. High-King Ziskin believed that the colony would make an excellent foothold for future invasions of Grand Republic space.

Antroth forces led by General Oskel Leton and High Magus La’Kurra Shal fought alongside the Biskin Empire and Infectant Horde’s forces on the ground. The Grand Republic’s armies were pushing the Triad forces back fiercely, however the battle was edging towards a stalemate with no clear victory in sight. High-King Ziskin, in a fit of rage, ordered that the planet be bombarded using the Biskin Empire’s advanced fleet. Infectant Horde and Antroth Empire forces were not warned of this sudden bombardment, and suffered numerous losses as a result.

The bombardment left the planet utterly uninhabitable and littered with the corpses of Grand Republic and Triad soldiers alike. General Oskel and High Magus La’Kurra barely survived the bombardment, and urged the empress and her council to stand up to High King Ziskin. Empress Si’Daal, having finally had enough of the Biskin Empire’s tyranny, was ready to betray High-King Ziskin and his Infectant allies.

Earlier in the war, High-King Ziskin ordered that a superweapon he called the Biskin Devastation Ray, be completed and set up. The weapon was supposedly capable of destroying entire solar systems using salvaged technology from nations that were long extinct. High-King Ziskin needed the construction site protected from enemy forces while it was preparing to fire on Ascon, the capital of the Volver Empire. The Soldarian and Volver Empires launched an invasion known as the Battle of Nano Prime in order to seize the weapon and destroy it. The Hyperon Grand Khanate joined in to help the two empires, providing much needed ground support.

Empress Si’Daal held back her forces, allowing the Biskin Empire and Infectant Horde to suffer great casualties at the hands of their foes. The Infectant Horde, finding no reason to stay and fight for a lost cause, fled the battle. The Battle of Nano Prime was a disaster for the Triad, and Biskin Empire territory was invaded by the Soldarians, Volver, and Grand Khanate while the Grand Republic dealt with the retreating Infectant Horde. Empress Si’Daal simply sent out a message across the galaxy, announcing to everyone involved in the war that the Antroth Empire was leaving the service of the Biskin Empire and surrendering to the enemy forces.

The war ended with a Tyrisian Triad defeat after the Battle of Floo in 1277 AD. With this loss, the withdrawal of the Antroth Empire, and the near-eradication of the Infectant Horde, the Tyrisian Triad was dissolved in the same year.

Formation of the United Knights Alliance[]

In 1373, after almost a century of recovery from the War of Tyris Major, Emperor Pulporious V of the Soldarian Empire approached Empress Si’Daal with an invitation to the newly forming United Knights Alliance (UKA). The empress was wary of joining at first, but Emperor Pulporious V clarified that the United Knights Alliance would be an equal partnership between the Volver Empire, Soldarian Empire, Hyperon Grand Khanate, and the Antroth Empire. He also assured her that the members of this alliance would protect the Antroth Empire from the Biskin Empire’s wrath.

Empress Si’Daal, after much consideration, agreed to join the alliance and became one of its founding members. The Antroth Empire once again stood not as a vassal, but as its own nation among equals.

The Great Tyrisian Age of Peace[]

The Great Tyrisian Age of Peace was an era that many historians of Tyris Major regard as the longest age of continued peace across the galaxy. For 1,381 years, the galaxy entered an age of relative prosperity. The United Knights Alliance began growing in strength, wealth, and territory. Their strength began to eclipse even that of the Biskin Empire when it was at its height. The Antroth Empire benefited from this as well, gaining access to technology and wealth that it would not have gained alone. The Antroth Empire also improved its allies via medical technology and knowledge of the Mystic Arts.

Empress Si’Daal’s reputation also improved, and she became known as one of if not the greatest Empress to rule the Antroth Empire. Under her rule, the Antroth Empire started as the oppressed servants of the Biskin Empire. But by the end of the Great Tyrisian Age of Peace, the Antroth Empire stood more powerful than it was under Empress Xi’Quii’s rule.

The Antroth Empire is a monarchy ruled by an empress. The Empress, while possessing supreme authority over the empire, is advised by a council of important individuals in Antroth Society. Council members include Kin-Mothers of influential Kin-Houses and the Grand Magus of the Mystic Order.

Kin-Houses that are on the council tend to own collections of colonies within imperial space called sectors, and the Kin-Mothers of these houses are aided by various officials such as mayors, wardens, and governors to maintain order throughout their sectors. The Grand Magus has authority over the Mystic Order and Battle Mage chapters, and each chapter is led by a High Magus that reports directly to the Grand Magus or the Empress herself.

Culture[]

The Antroth Empire is a utilitarian matriarchy, which means that in Antroth society women hold all of the power and that individuals are raised to value their place in the empire. Antroths are hardwired to be useful to those around them, especially their empress. This has caused most Antroths to seek out jobs in and outside of imperial space that will in some way ultimately aid the empire’s continued existence and their empress’ continued rule.

Male Antroths are not without rights however, as they do have most of the same rights as the women. However males are barred from learning the Mystic Arts unless under very specific circumstances and they usually are not allowed to lead Kin-Houses or hold political offices. They do however excel in the military and craftsmanship and are respected by the women for their military service and trade skills.

Antroth culture is also one of artistic expression and reverence to the Mystic Arts. Antroth cities are usually home to great parks, museums, and temples dedicated to creating fine art and practicing the Mystic Arts.

Religion[]

We Antroths need not dwell on our origins. From our own actions we took shape. And from our own actions we took power. Why attribute that to a being so far removed from these actions? Is it wrong to take pride in ourselves? We do not think so.

- Grand Magus Ya’Varri

The Antroth Empire, while it does not outlaw the practice of religion, is a majority atheist nation. Even the Antroths’ ancestors, the Spydorians, were not very religious. Despite the fact that the Antroth Empire has seen and even fought against gods alongside their allies, most if not all Antroths do not believe that anything has any inherent divine properties. The Antroths also know that they created themselves without the need for the actions of gods, and therefore do not believe that they owe any deity worship for anything.

Military[]

  • Main Article: Military

If you ever underestimate an Antroth warrior, it will be the last mistake you make.

- Cizron Shal

The Antroth Empire’s military is a formidable force of talented warriors that are balanced in both ground and naval combat. The Antroth Empire also utilizes Battle Mages, soldiers that weaponized the Mystic Arts to give themselves an edge in battle. Most enlisted soldiers in the military are male, however many females do join as Battle Mages or combat medics to aid their brothers-in-arms. Many of the officers are centuries old, having experienced many wars over their lifetimes and are valued for their combat prowess and their tactical capabilities.

Allies[]

“Through our combined efforts, we shall prosper.”

  • Federation of Free States - "Were we once stood alone in the cosmos, we now stand with many nations. Our combined wealth, knowledge, and strength is rivaled by few. The Federation of Free States is a beacon of hope."
    • United Knights Alliance - “We forged this alliance with the hopes of bringing peace and stability to our galaxy. We have seen many horrors and marvels together, but we wouldn’t want it any other way.
      • Volver Empire - “The Volver Empire has stood with us for over one thousand years. They are trustworthy allies, honorable warriors, and great friends of the Antroth Empire.”
      • Soldarian Empire - “Despite being one of the most powerful military powers in the galaxy on its own, the Soldarian Empire never bothered trying to conquer the entire galaxy. That restraint is something to be admired. We have fought and worked alongside their people for generations, and we trust them with our lives.
      • Hyperon Grand Khanate - “The Grand Khanate used to be enemies of ours. But when we needed an ally they were there for us. For over one thousand years, they’ve stood with us against all manner of foes. Their warrior spirit is admirable, if a bit over the top sometimes.
    • Grand Republic of Tyris Major - “The Grand Republic stands as the remaining oldest alliance in our home galaxy of Tyris Major. They have a masterful grip on the commerce of both Mirus and Tyris Major, and boast an impressive military to boot. While they are rivals of the United Knights Alliance, we have been able to find common ground through the Federation of Free States.
      • Lavatuft Republic - “The Lavatuft Republic is another case of ‘could conquer the galaxy if they wanted to but just doesn’t’, similar to the Soldarian Empire. The Lavatufts have been around the longest and have maintained their power for longer than most of our empires have existed. We respect them immensely for their masterful political, military, and diplomatic skills.
      • Holy S’actha Republic - “While we don’t usually get along with theocrats, the Holy S’actha Republic has our respect for their unwavering support in the Federation of Free States and their role in freeing us from the yoke of the Biskin Empire back during the War of Tyris Major.
      • Violaven Union - “The Violaven Union, while a very young nation, has an impressive culture centered around competition that has caused them to make incredible technological advancements that could even rival what the Nebulorians built in their prime. We respect them greatly.
    • Waptoria Alliance of Species - “We have never met a people so dedicated to peace and life in our time as a spacefaring nation. They’ve proven time and time again that they are valuable allies.”
    • Unified Federation of Glory - “Warriors just as fearsome and trustworthy as the Volver, if not more so. We’ve faced foes that we could originally only imagine alongside them. And these fellows met those threats head on without hesitation.
    • United Persan Descendants - “Just as valuable to us as our other fellow federation members. Their claims of divine heritage have always been a point of argument for our scholars, but regardless we have always respected the Persans as friends and allies.”

Liked[]

“We respect you.”

Neutral[]

“We do not like or dislike you. Your actions can change that.”

Disliked[]

“Tread carefully.”

  • Biskin Empire - “Their treatment and deaths of our people has not been forgotten. But their actions during the Void War were commendable, and their actions afterwards have been noted. We believe that the Biskin wish to make amends and become a proper part of the galactic community rather than outcasts on the outer rim on Tyris Major.

Enemies[]

“Through blade or spell, you will regret making us your enemy!”

  • The Infectant Horde - “These abominations are beyond saving. We’ve seen firsthand what they are capable of, and we know that all that awaits us should they succeed in their goals is death.”
