The War Gorgops are intelligent cousins of the Gorgops created by genetic experimentation.
Origins[]
The War Gorgops were created by the Kurotsuchi, a race of evil scientists, to serve as their warriors. Using the Gorgops ruber as a base, the mad scientists enhanced its combat abilities to the maximum, culminating in the War Gorgops, their ultimate fighting machine. The Kurotsuchi made them intelligent enough to take and process orders but left them just short of sapience. However, as they developed, one generation of War Gorgops gained sapience, and these organized and turned on the Kurotsuchi, using their immense combat prowess to overthrow their oppressors in a bloody revolt.
It was towards the end of this struggle when exoanthropologists from the Raptor Empire discovered the War Gorgops and studied them from a distance. Word of the struggle soon reached the Raptor Empire's allies, the Draconian Empire. As noble warriors who fight against such oppression, the Draconian Empire was outraged that the Raptor Empire had not acted to aid the War Gorgops. With help from both the Draconian Empire and Raptor Empire, the War Gorgops reached the stars and hunted down the Kurotsuchi, in the end utterly destroying them.
To this day, the War Gorgops paint their bodies with red war paint to symbolize the scars they received and the violence and tortures they endured (and overcame) under the iron-fisted reign of their creators.
Language[]
The War Gorgops do possess a language, but it is virtually unintelligible to outsiders. The vocal organs of a War Gorgops are such that they can only make guttural noises. This is fine for communicating with other War Gorgopses, but they must use synthesizers to communicate with other races.
Notes[]
- The species epithet kurotsuchii is after Captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi from the anime/manga Bleach, the mad scientist I had in mind when creating the backstory for the race.
- The inspiration for part of the clothing on the Civ/Space stage clothing was Xervantez's Minotaurus creature.
