The Rijaflai are the weak creatures of the Hemiinsecta.

Origins[]

The Rijaflai were evolved from amphibians, and this evolution is still taking place, hence the large pores on its back and the legs that still have not broken free of their shell. They face hardship and if luck does not come to them, they will like die out.

The first modern Rijaflai were small creatures that would hang near droppings of others and live on the flies that attracted, but eventually they grew and that was not a sufficient food supply. Hence they started becoming mid-night hunters. Although they were very effective, they became nocturnal and eyes were then unnecessary and hence they were grown off. They also made their pores the only form of breathing as to not make noise when hunting. Often they would hunt in groups and once every week about 15 of them would attack a single sleeping creature; often only 3 would survive. Most of their predators eat them when they sleep once one of their nests are discovered. About 10% of a generation would die this way. This means that, added up with the 80% of death by dying in battle, and the 5% of dying by starvation, only 5% of a generation would survive to reproduce. Because of this, Rijaflai produce about 100 children per couple, and most of these will survive childhood.

Language[]

The Rijaflai speak in Simplified Ikiraniian, the language of the Ikiranii, the only sentient being they know, who has a Space Empire set up near them. It consists of basic calls and gum clicks and rolls.
