A herbivore that adapted to become strong wrestlers and wrestle their attackers, the Renthom were one of the best adapted herbivores.
The Renthom adapted by becoming stronger and larger, an adaptation different to other herbivores. this stemmed from when Renthom would wrestle their predators, as they had adapted to become strong in order to get to fruit that was hard to reach, and involved climbing trees or other things.
When the Renthom's evolution in strength worked, it carried on. Many carnivores died out thanks to their strength, due to lack of food thanks to being inable to hunt Renthom. They became prey to the Loron, who soon became stronger than the species 6 armed species. The unprepared Renthom nearly died out, until the Loron left the world.
When the Loron left, Renthom grew more numerous and stronger still, making them one of the best adapted herbivores on the planet.
The return of the Loron resulted in Renthom being featured in many Renthom wrestling contest. Similarly, when the Unified Nation of Ottzello arrived, they were used in sporting activities.
Renthom have beak-like mouths, and 6, incredibly long arms. They are bipedal, and red in colour with stripes. The red colour is surprising to many; with Groodrub's harsh environment it is often wondered why camouflage is rare, and red stands out in the jungle locations of the world. Environmental experts have suggested that the Renthom stand out on purpose to challenge predators of the same size (while predators much larger would not want to be challenged, such as epic creature-sized organisms, they would often be too concerned with food sources of their own size) to attack them, so that the predator can be defeated in battle, and its nutrients broken down by microbes to feed plants and so that the predator will be scared off from fighting them.
Renthom, unlike most herbivores, are very aggressive creatures; they will fight other herbivores over plant foods, and challenge predators to fight them. Their behaviour would, of course, be suicidal for any other herbivore, but the Renthom are so well adapted that they can survive with this behaviour. Renthom can often be aggressive to other herbivores if they feel the herbivores are threatening their source of food, but otherwise, tend to leave harmless animals alone.
Being six armed creatures with incredibly powerful muscles, the Renthom can handle themselves in a fight with any creature, with the exception of the seemingly unstoppable Loron. A single Renthom arm has the strength of 2,250J (1/4 of Loron, which is 9,000J); all arms combined, that is 13,500J of energy in its muscles, making it approximately 5/8 the strenght of two Loron arms (which is 18,000J). The strength of a Renthom is 32kN (kilo-Newtons) per arm, which is 190kN in total.
