The Ragnakians are one of the four races that derivated from the Akalians and the lizard-folk of the Planet Akalia.

The Ragnakians have many resemblances with their predecessors, the Akalians, such as their velocirraptor-like appearance, but their evolution has granted them features that have made them resemble more like lizards and larger dinosaurs.
Their fangs and claws have become larger and combined with their enhanced muscular mass they have become the strongest race of all four, and they have put their strength to the test since the beginning of their time. This has made them develop a violent and territorial personality, but also a great sense of honor.

The Darkscale Ragnakians are the direct descendants of the Akalian God-Kings, and their role is the same: to guide and rule their people, but on their own behalf instead of the behalf of a god. Their right to rule depends on their strength, and if another Darkscale wants the throne, they must challenge the current ruler on a death match.
Apparently, the Darkscales want to preserve the strength on their blood, so on most of the cases, they marry brothers with sisters, and the true rulers are only the oldest male son. No female Darkscale has the right to rule unless certain circumstances.
