The Morlod are the oldest creatures on Groodrub. Incredibly fast creatures who can reach 8m in strides, they are also cattle, as they are very meaty, and have a good reputation as a meat source for their taste.
History[]
Early history[]
The Morlod began as herbivore cells, who evolved eating plants. Groodrub was filled with jungles in which the Morlod grew, but also full of predators. When many predators evolved on the world, Morlod became endangered.
Evolution[]
They were prey to many creatures, and one of the few species in the area who weren't killed off by the arrival Loron. They are well known as a delicious food source and a really fast creature on Groodrub, rivalled only by the Loron in terms of speed.
Loron leaving[]
When the Loron mostly left Groodrub in search of conflict, the Morlod grew in numbers in their area and across the planet. Morlod were still prey to some of the strongest predators, but were more than fast enough to evade several, and only the most cunning or well-adapted predators would feast on the Morlod.
Recolonisation[]
When the Loron recolonised Groodrub, the Morlod were once again in trouble, and had to adapt to be even faster in order to survive. Luckily, Morlod did this well, and still survived as the most numerous herbivore on the world. When the Unified Nation of Ottzello arrived, the Morlod were used in many animal and nature preserves, farms and spread across many worlds, not just Groodrub.

Appearance[]
Morlods are yellow creatures with rough skin, which can keep the heat off them. They are only 1.1m in height on average, and 0.8m long. Their mouth is similar to that of an aardvark or elephant, and is used to grab fruit or vegetables off plants.
Behaviour[]
Morlod creatures are friendly with each other, and are well known to share food with not only their family, but other Morlods. They will nest in areas that are furthest away from predators. They are, however, always on the run from predators, and thus, they will only nest in a zone for one day. At night, Morlods will look around the area to find any predator and ensure that all predators are asleep, and then rest. Due to eating often and only sprinting when it needs to, it has plenty of time before it needs to sleep to check for danger and build a shelter.
Abilities[]
Morlod are incredibly fast creatures, who can outrun almost any enemy. They are lightweight, and its slender body, small head, flattened rib cage and long legs minimize air resistance. Due to a weight of only around 50kg, its muscles don't have much weight to carry; the majority of its weight is muscle, with bones and its tough skin being the rest of the weight. An oversized, powerful heart pumps huge amounts of blood; large lungs and nostrils allow for fast and deep air intake. A cheetah's eyes are extra long so they can get a fast, wide-angle view of their surroundings even at top speed. It has an extra flexible spine that curves with each stride, acting something like a spring for the back legs. In addition, the flexible spine, combined with unique leg muscles that give a cheetah's legs incredibly broad swing range, allow the animal to achieve a stride of 8m.
