The Meverio of planet Lopt are ecologists, level ten, and have a captain (Ierth) of fair rank. They hold great power in their area, but often don't know how to use it. As government is not a thing that comes naturally to most Meverio, the Meverio Empire is a somewhat frightening place to be when a grossly incompetent leader is in power. Most rulers have been of this fashion, and when they are in office, the government is more or less just there to stop you from murdering your neighbor or stealing his aircar. Not like they would do most of that, anyway; most Meverio are far too concerned with the current environmental state or wether or not they watered their basil gardens before leaving their houses.

Prehistory[]

The Meverio were friendly enough as a creature, and would much rather make peace than fight with another. Not much is known of early sapient Meverio, but it is known they were largely solitary for a while; the cause of this is unknown. As intelligence grew, however, Meverio united into tribes, a vast majority of which carried over their bestial behaivor and made peace.

Civilization[]

The first advanced (relatively speaking) Meverio civilization was the Alh of the Quärvo River valley. Here, herding and farming were refined and great technological leaps came at a rapid pace. The Alh eventually united with the Mëvario Civilization (which is where the modern name Meverio comes from) to form the first powerful Meverio Nation. After a brief surge of religious fervor that carried their environmental beliefs into the space stage, a workable monetary system was established and distributed across the formerly disorganized nation. This new emphasis turned the Meverio Nation in an economic direction, creating great wealth, but also greed and corruption. As the Meverio Nation expanded past the Kleh continent and into the mainland, the government was a weak form that held little power. Only the kingpins of the various industries held resonable power. Not unitl Lopt was unified were the kingpins stripped of power and a form of government similar to a parlimentary monarchy was established.

Early Empire[]

The Meverio Empire was wary of entering space as an empire, scared of a possible relapse into a government by money. The first contacted empire was the Colin, a race of zealots who did nothing to placate them. Not long after, the Drac were met (traders; still not good), then the Pleasel (who were shamans, and that was pretty good). Peace between the four was steady. All four enjoyed profit and growth (save for the Colin, who did not expand) until the Titan Age.

The Titan Age[]

Enter the Titan Empire. The Titan came out of somewhere between Wherever and I Don't Know to control a majority of systems in the area. They had always pushed their luck, pushing religion on the empires and generally causing trouble, which eventually led to a full war between the Titan and the Drac. It looked almost completely hopeless for the Drac; the formerly five star empire had been cut down to a feeble three star. The Meverio then declared war on the Titan, and to everyone's suprise, conquered the five star empire, gaining the half of Drac territory the Titan claimed, a single system the Colin claimed but the Titan conquered, and the rest of Titan territory. Colonization projects increased the size of the Meverio Empire further. The Meverio came to dominate the area, but knew not of what was beyond their explored territory. The area had always been in a sort of island, seperated by a stretch of void now called the Great Lake.

Exploration[]

The Meverio met a vast assortment of empires surrounding the Great Lake: the Quise, Captain Leep, Clark, Gnottian Blue 2, Dinaliacus, Sunima Commander, Arastoph (Arena), Recording Bot, Malabhal, Kevot Researcher, King Gell, Arenamonster, and Tsetragh. New influence from outisde turned the formerly content Meverio paranoid, given their wary state of mind. Thinking the Drac would want their former territory back to gain galactic power, the Meverio swiftly conquered them.
