Dooderels are rather small creatures, measuring 1-2 meters in lenght and 1-1.5 in height. Their wright is usually between 20 and 40 kilograms.

Dooderels have almost round bodies with a line of long curved spikes on the back and a short tail. Their rather long legs end in webbed avian feet bearing heavy claws. They lack forelimbs, making them two-limbed creatures. They have a short neck ending in a long curved beak with two small spikes on it. They are covered in short quite scale-like feathers of colors yellow, blue and red.

Sexual dimorphism is present and it's quite easy to spot in Dooderels, as the males are more colorful and have more ellaborate patterns than females, which lack the red scales males posess. Young Dooderels, similarily to females, are less colorful than their adult forms.
