I would've never believed the folklore about these beings until I saw one, their fiery eyes ignited in psionic fire, their warlocks floating aimlessly as they glowed with the same power. Their musculature, their pose, their violent yet controlled expression. I was sure that day, that the Civatron race was created for nothing more than to wage war upon the universe's enemies, and somehow I felt safe.

Ancient depiction of a Civatron.

The Civatrons (Primogenitus, Firstborn, Thorbil...), "Humble ones" in their language, are a reptilian race physically akin to the Crocodilia genus commonly seen on Earth, known as a powerful disciplined warrior race, originating from the planet Civa Prime in the Tigris Galaxy. They are known for their fierce prowess and strategic leadership in numerous wars, especially that of the War of Ages and the Great Psionic War. They are part of the genetic family of psionic-gifted races known collectively as the Krassio, considered their most famous representatives, concurrently being the main proponents of technological ascendancies known as Neural Physics and they are the center-piece of the multifaceted pseudo-religion known as Iluviism across the universe.

For many denizens of the First Gigaquadrant, to witness a Civatron is like beholding a divine revelation from godlike warriors slaying monstrosities from beyond reality's veil. To walk or even fight alongside the Firstborn of the Krass is akin to walking with demi-gods blessed with unfathomable power, equally peace-inducing as they also instill a sense of incomprehensible dread in the face of a terrible truth: That no mortal can know what the Civatron is thinking but they surely know what thoughts lurk in the minds of common-folk.

Despite the Civatrons' well-known reputation as the perfect warriors, only a few military regiments or diplomats ever witnessed one or many in action. Still, legends and myths are created around them, and the tales of their heroic deeds during the epic War of Ages galvanize the Civatrons to the point of godhood. From tribe elders to playful children in every system and station on the Gigaquadrant, stories of the towering, beautiful reptilians with flaming blue hair and eyes burning with divine psionic fire spread wide. They are considered the universe's most powerful Demon-slayers. They represent a beacon of hope in the face of the constant threat of annihilation by the forces of Chaos and Evil, inspiring good in all those who face their inner--and outer--demons. They are amongst the few races in the entire history of the First Gigaquadrant to have ever battled the Zhulultu on equal terms and won.

The Civatrons are a reserved species, mostly caring for themselves other than others when not fulfilling their self-imposed role as protectors of the universe, yet when they see a threat, they feel obligated to act and do something about it. They are mostly good-willed beings, but when at war they are feared for their merciless rampage on the battlefield. Their discipline is quite known across the galaxy, some minor species have employed their teachings to perfect themselves in the art of war. Even the slightest knowledge of their combat discipline is a huge advance in physical prowess for lesser races. Treating with them is really hard since they are close to each other and very reserved to foreigners, only some certain species have credited respect among them, or fear. Those are the species who rather showed their military prowess to them by fighting on their side or having defeated them in combat. Again, the species who accomplish this are few and are mostly members of the most powerful empires in the Universe.

In recent years, they have, once again, began to lead a spiritual successor of their past organizations: the Singularim and they, alongside the Juvax and the Andrudans, are the only remaining Krassio in the known universe. They exert authority as the highest form of Krassio and by extension of the Iluvii spirits that inhabit the hyper matter dimension of the Iluvii Realm.

History[]

Early Era (9 million years)[]

Civatrons were genetically modified by the ancient psionic species called Krass, a progenitor race that once controlled a vast portion of the Tigris Galaxy. The Krass boosted the Civatron's evolution and induced upon the reptilian species their own essence, programming their genetic material to embrace Psionic Energy as they progressed in their evolution.

Civatron Tribal 1

The ruins the Krass intentionally left boosted the Civatron society a hundred-times fold

The reptilian race developed a tribal, druidic culture in their early civilization stages, where they would battle each other for dominance over food resources and territories. It was here that the first foundations of the infamous Civatron households were laid, powerful tribes and clans that would lead the Civatron race and decide its destiny for centuries, even millennia to come.

The Krass purposedly left derelict artifacts in Civa Prime in order to boost cultural and even religious interest in their latent psionic powers. As the Civatrons dug up these artifacts and structures, they began to form a religious view of the Krass, calling them their forefathers, and believing they were meant to follow their steps into the stars.

Honor-bound to their respective households, the Civatrons warred against each other frequently, given the nature of their planet's flora and fauna. However, their genetic design had been done so that Civatrons would thrive in war, and so they developed technologies such as fusion and clean energies based on their druidic roots to respect nature. Scientists and Archeologists were the high authority in their philosophical views, as their findings of Krass technology were constantly interpreted and reverse-engineered. However, the warrior caste was the most respected branch of Civatron society, given the fact that these hardened reptilians were their protectors and conquerors.

The discovery of a particular set of ruins called "Sumym Cumbra" in their ancient language revealed schematics to develop spaceships with anti-gravity engines, therefore enabling the Civatrons to take off from Civa Prime and into the Galactic community. Such a feat unified in a certain way the different tribes, creating the Civa Tribal Accords, or Civatron Tribes.

Civa Tribal Accords Era[]

Foundation (Early Period)[]

Civa Tribal Accords

The Civa Tribal Accords marked the early Civatron Colonization in the Civa Sector.

As independent households, albeit united with each other to achieve the common goal of exploring the cosmos, strived to reach their own particular agendas, the early period of Civatron spacefaring was aggressively expansionist. Colony ships traveled from star to star, seeding particular planets where they could breed their own stock and live in a similar way they did on Civa Prime. In order to quell disputes among the different clans and sub-clans that eventually followed, as the Civatron expansion reached 150-200 colonies by the third century since its beginning, the main households held a conference that led to the creation of the High Council of Judicators, appointed ministers that would rule and settle disputes that could not be solved by local judges or leaders. This gave form to a proto-Civatron Empire, albeit completely de-centralized and de-militarized, as each world was responsible of grooming its own warriors, with some excelling in it and others reveling on other affairs such as breeding food, trading goods, developing technology and trading all the aforementioned between them, slowly forming terms such as "Food World" and "Fortress World". It is important to highlight that there were no relevant conflicts in this early period, which is counted by the historians as a three-century era.

Technologically speaking, the Civatrons traveled using atomic fusion reactors from one star system to another and concepts such as shielding technology were barely developed during this stage of their history, as there was no need for weapon and defense systems development.

First Psionic Wars (Middle Period)[]

As the CTA (short for Civa Tribal Accords) consolidated its colonies and established trade routes among the different Clans, it was a matter of time before the galactic community overall began to notice the Civatron presence. So far, the Civatrons had met a few species, making the first contact and establishing successful trade routes with them. However, the CTA never procured alliances, as it trusted its planetary armed forces from several key systems to run in the defense of a weaker world.

Everything changed when two different threats suddenly emerged to challenge the growth of the CTA. From the Galactic Southern quadrants, two different races saw the Civa Prime expansion as a threat to their interests, as the Civatrons ideologically and fundamentally opposed to their principles. These sentient species were the Fourmican Hivemind, an insectoid species obsessed with perfection, thus seeking to absorb all knowledge from potential species, a trait induced by the late Krass in their search for the perfect weapon, while the Minos Empire was one of the oldest contemporary civilizations in Tigris, and had made several minor civilizations and species fall into primitive stages of industrial development, so the CTA posed a threat to their hegemony.

This was not all. The growth of the CTA attracted a foe to be reckoned with. From the galactic core, corsair fleets warped into CTA space and raided the colonies in the outer and mid fringes of the Civatron territory. They were led by the Vandal, the legendary Pirate Prince.

Using their veteran war fleets, the Minos dealt blows on several systems in the outer fringes of the CTA, forcing the latter to mobilize other planetary defenses in order to meet the Minos in combat. For several years, the Minos threat was the only one, and the conflict had grown into a stalemate. It was then when the Fourmican broods made planetfall across the CTA border, forcing the Civatrons to pull off from those sectors, spending their assets and resources in saving as many lives as possible from the worlds that had fallen prey. The Minos firepower and the Fourmican manpower were enemies to be reckoned with, and the CTA would have to find something that would give them the necessary edge they needed lest their proud empire would become a vassal of the Minos.

With ravaging fury, the Vandal and his corsair fleets, sanctioned by the Minos empire, attacked Civatron convoys and fleets. The destruction brought upon the Civatron race during those years was devastating and the Civatron Tribal Accords faced total defeat at the hands of its enemies.

It was then when, from the core worlds of the Civatron held space, a figure of prominence rose to fame and power, bringing knowledge of an ancient power hidden inside every living Civatron, ready to be used in favor of the CTA. This Civatron wanderer, named the Valader, had been a nameless warrior that had disappeared long ago in search for more power, only returning as a paragon of what the Civatron race could be. With his return, the Valader introduced the Civatron race to Psionic Energy, setting the whole species on an evolutionary path that would define the rest of their history. Wether the CTA embraced the Valader's teachings out of sheer necessity or because of the awe-inspiring aura of the mighty warrior is unknown, but psionic energy proved to be the turning point of the war against the Minos, the Fourmican, and the Vandal's piracy. The CTA handed the Valader with complete command of the Civatron armada and tasked him with defeating the Minos Empire's efforts to bring the Civatrons under their thrall.

Thus, the Civatrons challenged the legends and heroes of the Galaxy's finest. Heroes met on both sides, and the Tigris Galaxy knew its first full-scale engagement. The Valader faced the Vandal threat while his most dedicated apprentices dealt with the Fourmican and Minos threats. With the mark of the first Psionic Revolution, the First Psionic Wars lasted more than the Minos expected and ended in a completely different way.

After Fifty years of constant conflict between the Minos and Civatron empires, the CTA stood victorious over its foes, and became the largest space empire in the Tigris Galaxy, holding the entirety of the Civa sector and part of the Minos sector. The Minos Prime Delegate of the Empire, near absolute ruler of the Minos, was forced to abdicate as their empire was reduced to several systems kept in quarantine by the Civatrons. The Fourmican remained an ever-present threat until far more years into the future, continuing lesser forms of the psionic wars against the Civatrons as their obsession with being the perfect collective stirred them into desiring to absorb the Civatrons.

Following this victory, the Civatrons had adopted psionic energy into some aspects of their military life, albeit many citizens of the CTA followed his teachings in order to learn more about their latent potential as psionics. Thanks to the technology stolen from the Minos, the Civatrons managed to reverse-engineer Faster-than-light travel by building hyperdrives for their ships, and their weaponry and shielding was heavily influenced by the far more superior Minos Empire.

First Psionic Revolution (Middle period)[]

Following this victory, the Civatrons had adopted psionic energy into some aspects of their military life, albeit many citizens of the CTA followed his teachings in order to learn more about their latent potential as psionics. Thanks to the technology stolen from the Minos, the Civatrons managed to reverse-engineer Faster-than-light travel by building hyperdrives for their ships, and their weaponry and shielding was heavily influenced by the far more superior Minos Empire.

Psionic energy steadily took over the minds of the highest researchers in Civatron history, following the Valader's steps of introspection and spiritual guidance. Psionics soon took over social aspects such as culture, politics and religion. The Civatrons began to abandon their belief in the Krass as their fore-fathers and "gods", albeit they continued to respect them as the species that ultimately gave them life due to more discoveries in other planets of their existence. Psionics became a rising trend in the Civatron military, where their warriors trained everyday following the statutes of the first documents ever written by the Valader, who sought to spread his teachings across the Civatron empire and eventually, the entire galaxy. These documents were the cornerstone of what would become the biblios that now is the Book of Discipline, the Civatrons' most revered work.

The Civatrons asserted their domain across the stars, although they did not intend to colonize more systems out of fear of finding another Minos-like empire. However, their size and deeds against the Minos, Fourmican and the Cabal of Pirates from the galactic core became effective deterrents against other threats in the years to come.

The Inquisition War (Late Era)[]

Missionistus Symbol

The Missionistus Order is the only Spodist faction ever to force the Civatrons to the brink of extinction.

Peace was shaken once again on the third century since the CTA's founding. The Civatrons were a well-established civilization known on most of the Tigris Galaxy. It was a regional power on the galactic East, often called the "Power of the East", where the Civatrons began friendly relationships with other likeminded species, such as the Andross and the Juvax, whom besides being reptilians like them, also possessed a great potential for psionic teaching.

From the far reaches of the outer rims, on the galactic South of Tigris, a wormhole that had not been used for hundreds of thousands of years gorged an entire fleet of aliens. This armada carried a banner by which all of the warships unified: Spode.

Spodism was a known religion on the galactic southwest quadrants of the Tigris galaxy that spread like wildfire upon its inception. At first, the Civatrons genuinely believed that Spodism was just another way of seeing their own psionic studies, however, as time passed, Spodist followers proved hardened zealots that discriminately preached against the teachings of the Book of discipline, which started to become a philosophy used by the Eastern sectors. Upon realizing that Spodism would never compete with the psionic essence within the Civatrons, and that no adherent empire in the galaxy would contend with the Civatrons, many followers of Spode fasted and prayed, seeking help in the skies of their planets and in the void of the cosmos until they were heard.

The new arrivals were called the Order of the Missionistus, were a radical military junta of Spodists bent on the purification of every system they deemed beyond salvation. The local spodists' prayers resonated in the minds of the Missionistus leadership as if transmitted by a higher force. Thus, the entire armada traversed the wormhole from the Andromeda galaxy into the Tigris galaxy with one thing in mind: extermination.

The first signs of the Missionistus for the CTA were probes and a small task force sent to gauge the Civatron fleet power, only to realize that, despite their technological progress imbued with psionic energy, the Civatrons were still miles away from the level of technology the Missionistus had. With uncalled violence, the Spodist fleet crushed the CTA's borderline colonies and outposts, decimating the border fleet in the Minos sector as a message to the Civatrons, who were rendered paralyzed by the sudden attack of the unknown aliens. The spodists were well known all right, but these came with a fury never seen on the galaxy. The Missionistus were fighting a higher form of war, an intergalactic war.

With the Civatrons crippled in the Minos sector, the Missionistus sent one and only message to the worlds of the CTA, demanding that they repented from their sinful ways and that they turned their lives to Spode. The Valader, the hero of the Civatrons and master of the CTA Defense force, rose to prominence once again, as he was asked to lead the defense once more. The CTA refused the Missionistus terms, and thus the Inquisition War took center stage in the Tigris Galaxy.

Of all the numerous advantages the Missionistus had against their prey, they lacked solely the ability to find the Civatron colonies in the Civa sector because of the high concentration of psionic users which created a dampening field to the Spodist sensors. The Missionistus dedicated their efforts to capture Civatron worlds whenever they found them in order to extract information from them. The Civatrons' loyalty to their own kind was unbreakable, proving it difficult for the followers of Spode to coordinate attacks. The Inquisition war's first stage was a guerrilla war for the Civatrons, as they focused only on fighting battles they knew they could win, all the while circumventing Spodist efforts to advance further into CTA space.

The war escalated, even more, when a Missionistus fleet entered an Andross controlled system by chance. Their readings detected Civatrons amidst the population, and so their ships bombarded the surface and exterminated the defense flotilla stationed there, provoking both the Juvax and Andross into the war. Both reptilian races opened diplomatic endeavors with the Civatrons and a defensive pact and alliance were formed among the three, creating the first signs of what would become the Cianju Alliance.

The founding of the alliance toppled the Missionistus number and military advantage, but the Civatrons may have never proven victorious in the last stages of the war had a powerful individual never arisen and lead their forces to numerous key wins. A Civatron young psionic master had continuously proven really effective on commanding ships and leading troops into battle, winning the people of the systems he liberated. His name echoed among the alliance like a hymn: Master Kroc.

Master Kroc's genius, plus the allied efforts to push the Missionistus out of their territories began to bear fruit. Little by little, planet by planet, 60 years of war were finally over, the battle of the Wormhole didn't only see the retreat of the Missioinistus to their galaxy, they also managed to take its use from the Spodists. The Seven Starr Alliance, a powerful organization across the universe, punished the Missionistus Order for misuse of the wormhole according to its standards. The Civatrons were allowed to probe the wormhole and extract as much data as possible, whilst the details of the Missionistus destiny were lost to the Civatrons.

Cianju Alliance Era[]

Origins (Early Era)[]

Cianju Foundation

The Cianju Alliance was the first galactic superpower in Tigris after hundreds of thousands of years.

The Alliance between Civatrons, Andross, and Juvax sparked a new age for the former, as the three governments urged to unify under a single banner and become defenders of the galaxy in case of other extragalactic threats. Like this, Master Kroc was promoted as Master of the Civatrons and Head of the now fully formed Cianju Alliance. After more than 400 years of being governed by a tribal council. the Civatrons became a unified species and embraced the Cianju Alliance with Master Kroc at the helm.

Civatron gender comparison

Civatron gender comparison. Males (top) are significantly larger than females and have more tendrils that work as a mane.

The Civatrons are a reptilian race in nature, evolved from a rainforested planet with sub-terranean oceans filling the surface with life. Their senses adapted to withstand high pressures from these deep-water bodies, and their innate psionic potential manifested in a passive way by granting them a certain degree of prescience when completely blind in the dark waters of the deep, something they mistook for night vision in their early history until their psionic awakening 293 years into the space stage. With these evolutive and genetic qualities, the Civatrons served as apex predators prior to their sapience, and eventually became the dominant species in Civa Prime.

Civatron muscles are heavily reinforced with a dense alloy of neural dynamic alloys, in turn, affected deeply by the innate psionic capacity each individual possesses. The Civatrons are the epitome of psionic xeno-biology, as psionic particles are fused with their cells on a sub-atomic level. The Krass, albeit not infused with psionic energy themselves, experimented heavily on this field and made sure the Civatrons were hardened in both mind and soul, affecting their body.

Their bodies were one great accomplishment in the Krass genetic prowess. Civatrons are able to speed any healing process that may afflict them, and in case of diseases, some more acute with psionic energy during their tribalistic era were even able to look into an individual's internal organism and detect the issue, addressing it with proper medication. Medicine was, however, replaced later on by simply wishing the disease gone (eventually eradicating all disease in Civatron society). Their skin was subject to an advanced concept of epigenetics, as each Civatron was capable of willingly change the tone and density of their skin in order to fit their needs. Such needs were at first an evolutionary attribute, where Civatrons living closer to the surface adapted their skin into hard scaling, populations closer to high altitudes and Mountains (albeit really rare cases, since the surface's altitude in comparison with the planet's atmosphere and high skies was really, really low) showed signs of feathering for the cold climates, and those dwelling closer to the deep oceans of Civa Prime adapted to have softer, pale skin (in some cases bioluminescent). Such traits were transmitted to the space-faring generations that were exposed to other types of environments and ecosystems, hence demonstrating a high diversity of Civatron "ethnic groups" (multiplied ten-fold by each planet they colonized with a hazardous ecosystem. Their regenerative skills and mental focus was also enhanced the more exotic the planet or system was. When the Civatrons became exclusively preferent of Space habitats and megastructures orbiting black holes and highly gravitational concentrations, their general population's skin regularized into a green-blue tone with psionic energy glowing in their scales or eyes. Thanks to this epigenetic quirk, they were able to adjust organ functionality as well. The ability to change the color of their skin was later on used simply to relate to a specific clan, master or faction, like how those devoted to Master Kroc display the same ethnic coloring on their skins.

In terms of gender, the Civatrons enjoy a binary diversity in gender and sexual dimorphism, in which the male is larger than the female. This could have developed in their feral epochs, in which the male would grow larger than the female in order to carry the protection of their old social groups from predators. Females used to lay eggs in ancient times, but social progression and changes have completely detached the Civatron from sexual reproduction, instead opting for artificial carriers so adult Civatrons can focus on the more spiritual lifestyle.

Nascent Ascendancy[]

It is speculated that Civatrons do hold the ability to become ethereal beings and ascend into higher planes of existence and yet they willingly choose to maintain their physical forms in order to fulfill their directive: Protecting the Universe. Other important figures within the Civatron people, such as Master Bel, deduce that this refusal to ascend as divine beings allows them to remain in a constant state of change on a social and technological level. In reality, the Civatrons, along with the Krassio folk, are considered to be sleeping, nascent essentials, with their psychic might, albeit potent in its infancy, yet to awake and cast a brighter light in the Iluvii Realm.

Krassio Iluvii form

A Civatron in his proto-essential form leading two Greater Iluvii Spirits.

In the advent of the Annihilation cataclysm that saw the universe ripped off from scores of worlds, civilizations, and galaxies, the Krassio suffered greatly from their sworn enemies' onslaught. However, these afflicting times saw their inner psionic potential multiplied tenfold, their psychic presence shone brighter than ever, and even in the wake of the Xol'Etra hunting them down and reacting to these growing energies flowing within them, the Civatrons only grew stronger in essence.

Civatrons can manifest ethereally in the Iluvii Realm and other dimensions based on essence as divine beings of teal light flowing through their eyes and tendrils, energy coursing through their veins. So terrifying is their power as it is now, that scholars can only speculate with dread at the hint of seeing the Civatron race, and the Krassio by extension, fully awakened in their psionic might.

Psionics[]

The Civatrons are incredibly powerful in the arts of the mind, as they manifest the highest form of psionic essentials. Even when their psionic potential lay dormant for millions of years, their problem-solving skills were beyond normal primitive standards, capable of performing multiple tasks and various organizational matters a thousand-fold. The Civatrons are able to multitask on a level beyond imagination, as well as compute mentally things a supercomputer would do, sometimes even at a faster speed than the latter. Psionic Energy eventually took over their neural pathways and psyche, multiplying mathematical procedures and increasing emotional experience way more than any other species, hence the need for their disciplinary, spartan-like mental training.

Krassio military

Three Civatrons lead a Krassio Battle Group. Civatrons lead most of the psionic-based civilizations in the Universe as the most powerful psionic essentials.

With psionic energy encompassing their whole society in its recent iterations, the Civatrons are capable of performing supernatural feats by simply wishing them to happen. The collective gestalt of the entire species creates a threatening and towering presence. They are able to materialize energy beings made entirely of psionic energy and cast down illusion-based warriors upon their enemies. Thanks to their progress in psionic essence, the Civatrons refrained from developing physical and natural technologies further, as their psionic power soon took over space travel, weaponry, medicine, and science. Civatrons are still capable of developing technology akin to FTL travel, wormhole technology, gravity manipulation and terraformation of habitats, albeit not by pragmatical experimentation and research, but by contemplation, conceptual, and fundamental mathematical understanding of them, discerned through the mental dimension of the Iluvii Realm.

Sub-species[]

Throughout time, Civatrons have developed several subspecies that, although they share the same DNA, portray differences in genetic interpretation. The genetic diversity in the Civatrons was greatly influenced by the events in the War of Ages. It is important to note that all of these subspecies are part of one society with the exceptions of the Xolarum and Bor'Eaa Civatrons.

Tigris Civatron

Male and Female specimens of the Tigris subspecies

The original Civatrons, hailing from the Tigris Galaxy. They are the representative sub-species of the entire race, as it is most likely that the First Gigaquadrant only recognizes this version since it is the most related to Gigaquadrantic folklore and myth that dates back to the Tigris War. Their numbers have dwindled over the course of their history due to a series of devastating wars that reduced their population to a few million. However, its members rank among the most powerful and experienced Civatrons, and they still exert a great influence over many empires.

On a social level, these Civatrons have culturally fixed themselves in a concept they know as Unity. They loudly boast in their great survivability based on the strength of their interconnection through their psionic energy. However, this has also led to a significant social stagnation, as they are very-well rooted in their traditions regarding fate and their role in the universe. These Civatrons believe that everyone has a place in the universe and thus a role to fulfill, any members within their society have to strictly follow the path set before them, as even a minuscule change in the flow of the universe may lead to a chain of events that could destroy the Civatron culture and the universe at large in the future.

On a Biological level, perhaps the most significant trait the Tigris Civatron has is its high adaptability to highly dangerous gravitational wells, as their preferred habitat during their prolonged conflicts were black holes, as the singularities within them greatly powered their technology in times of crisis.

Nigtrion Civatrons

Male and female specimens of the Bor'eaa subspecies.

The Bor'Eaa subspecies, most commonly known as Nigtrions, are perhaps the most enigmatic Civatrons of all the subspecies known to the universe. The Nigtrions, or Najiim as they call themselves, descend from a tribe that travelled through experimental gateways towards one of the satellite galaxies of Tigris back in the days of the Cianju Alliance, records show that the experiment was a failure and all contact with those outlying settlements was lost in time. When the Najim rose to the light once more, they did so calling themselves Nigtrions, having developed a completely different culture than that of the Tigris Civatrons.

The Bor'Eaa specimens, much like their Tigris counterparts, suffered great losses during the Great War of Ages, deciding later on to submit and serve the royal family of Rambo Nation. They served as Ramashe's most secret executors and guardsmen. It was here that they were gifted a new world by their lords. Deep in the blinding Metruia Nebula, the Nigtrions were tasked with the burden of guarding a dark entity that hailed from the Quadrants. The Bor'Eaa have been nearly endemic to this world ever since, faithfully guarding the Lesrekta fortress and world with upmost dedication and honor.

Like the Krauna Civatrons, the Bor'Eaa specimens lack hair except for their females, who do display tendrils on the back of their heads. Nigtrions have also adopted a more democratic and diplomatic culture thanks to their patron empire, the Rambo Nation, but they have retained their warrior culture, like all other subspecies.

Krauna Civatrons

Male and Female specimens of the Krauna subpsecies

The Krauna Civatrons, or simply Krauna, hail from the Endless Space, representing the Civatrons that survived the Annihilation by escaping to the void in-between galactic bodies. They arrived at a strange celestial formation they eventually named the Beacon Sector and established their civilization of survivors, flourishing in the void until their timely re-discovery of the Chandras Galaxy, where they established their government and capital in the Monoikos system. These Civatrons are as old as the Tigris ones, yet unlike their peers, they actually evolved instead of being suspended in time.

Socially, the Krauna are a subspecies that had to depend largely in their technological prowess to produce goods and energy to power their ships and space structures before actually coming into contact with habitable planets. Thus, the Krauna are more scientifically inclined than their more spiritually contrasting counterparts. Despite not refusing their psionic heritage, they deeply disagree with the concepts of Unity the Tigris Civatrons brought upon their return. Many of the young generations of Krauna actually resent the Iluvii Gods and psionic energy overall. Despite their differences, the Krauna Civatrons respect the Civatron traditions of honor and combat, never abandoning their roots as warriors of good. In some Krauna circles, there is a supremacist movement occurring in which they believe themselves to be the superior race of all Civatrons.

On a physiological level, the Krauna are notable for not having the tendrils in their head and males display a bone horn just above their nostrils. The females do hold tendrils, albeit on a minimal scale than their other subspecies. These changes reflect the Krauna surgical rejection of the common Civatron idealistic values and sense of Unity. Their eyes, unlike the Tigris Civatrons, glow green due to many powering their psionic might through the void.

Ghenes Civatrons

Male and Female specimens of the Ghenes supspecies

The Ghenes Civatrons are the next generation in the evolutionary stage of the Civatron. They were genetically engineered and bred as part of the Civa Ghenes project to kickstart Civatron reproduction once again after hundreds of years of stagnation. The Civatrons raised from that project are stronger, smarter and with even more psionic potential than their counterparts. Their might not be to its true extent yet, but all the other subspecies tremble before what they are capable of doing.

Their psionic might resonates across lightyears upon lightyears of distance, and their Iluvii presence is said to be tenfold that of a common Civatron. Most of them are not even older than 30 years old, and already display the power of a Master with decades and even centuries of experience. This rapid growth has been observed as a danger by some Civatron Circles, something that will unfold into the Ghenes Incident, in which many Ghenes Civatrons were killed in the process. This massacre has marred the Ghenes Civatrons, making them reject their forefathers' path of Unity and Fate, seeking Free Will and the laws of the Unknown instead.

Since the Ghenes incident, these Civatrons are known for wearing masks all the time. These masks are symbolic in two ways, the first being that they render themselves physically blind and depend on their psionic eyes to see and move, rejecting the notion of Fate's known path symbolically. The other reason is that their icon, Master Bel, wore a Krass suit during the incident, concealing her identity and thus defeating the agents of chaos that caused the blight upon them. Now males and females from the Ghenes generation bear the burden of reform and revolution in their society, seeking to question the other subspecies' notions and change them for the better. Still, these Civatrons are touched by the sense of honor and warrior tradition, so although they all share a warrior culture, they have sub-professions that pique their interest.

Xolarum Civatrons

Male and Female specimens of the Xolarum subspecies

The Xolarum Civatrons are considered an abomination for the rest of the Civatrons. They are Civatrons who seemingly abandoned their individuality in order to be ruled and directed by the overriding will of the Pharia. Many believe that they did this willingly in search of power yet the true story is way more tragic. During the Great Psionic War, when the Pharia coalesced into a collective consciousness, many psionic minds and spirits, mostly the Xol'Etra, were submitted by the psionic might of this newly formed entity, giving them great power at the cost of rationality and consciousness itself. These Civatrons work as overlords of the Pharia's minions, and they represent its most powerful agents. Although their actions are limited to the Xolarum Republic following the fall of the Xol Dominion, they stand as some of the most powerful Civatrons in existence.

The Xolarum Civatrons are modified psionically to further receive orders from their god, the Pharia. They do not understand any reason beyond the intricacies the Pharia bestows upon them, and will fiercely lash out at any who dares offend their overriding will.

These Civatrons are not numerous, and their population is speculated to be in the hundreds. Although they all share their thoughts, their kind of unity is anathema to the rest of the Civatrons, who boast in unity through individuality and by self-choice.

Culture[]

Civatron swords

Civatrons craft their own psionic blades, imbuing them with their psionic might and pathways. A testament to their warrior-like culture.

Civatron culture is a monument to the art of War. From infancy to adulthood, the Civatrons train their psionic energies and learn to keep them in balance, not allowing their raw emotions to take over and make them do atrocious things. Despite their warrior culture, Civatrons are not murderers nor revel in conquest. They are bound by a tradition of honor and integrity that define their rules during combat.

Their code of honor is highly defined by what Civatrons consider the highest authority concerning the moral use of their powers: "The Book of Discipline", which was written mainly by The Valader, with annexes penned by Master Kroc and in recent months, by Lady Protectress Ynur'Vae. The Book of Discipline represents not only a philosophical guide on warfare and their usage of psionic energy for the Civatrons, but also how they eventually came to view the universe as a whole. The codex inscribed in the lines of the Book of Discipline groomed the Civatrons into claiming to be the universe's natural protectors, seeking to preserve a certain civilization when needed or blasting one into oblivion when necessary. It is this creed that makes the Civatron race to fight on wars uninvited, such as supporting the Rambo Rebellion against the Cyrannian Empire, or to avoid one even if a long-standing ally is in danger, like when they did not partake in the fight against Tyromáiron's rise to power nor in the DCP Civil War, believing these were internal changes necessary for the survival of the such empires. Indeed, this mentality put them at odds with forces often seen as alien to the rest of the universe, albeit the question of what is alien and what is not is strictly reserved to the higher echelons of Civatron society: the Iluvii Pantheon.

Kroc god

Grand Maester Kroc is considered the patron deity of the Civatrons, as he stands as a paragon of what a Civatron can achieve and inspire upon others.

Civatron devotion is not only placed in their guardianship of the universe but in their high regard for those who have attained godhood among their ranks. Civatrons are born mortals, but their latent psionic power leads them on a celestial path to immortality and greatness. Only when a Civatron is uplifted to this supernatural plane of existence does the influence of chaos and ill-willed forces is fully nullified. A meritocratic society in nature, the Civatron culture honors the strength, wisdom and hope one can emanate from within to lead others considered feebler.

In ancient days, prior to the War of Ages the Civatrons were organized into a body of Tribes, which in turn elected representatives that would form a general assembly and make decisions about their race. These Tribes varied in power and influence, and after the Great Psionic War, the surviving tribes now reformed to better suit their military needs.

Coming of Age[]

Psi Blade

A young Civatron initiate warps his own Psi Blade.

Within the Civatron's warrior culture, the coming of age of their young surmounts importance since it defines their final destiny or career within their society, which is a meritocracy in most of all cases. Battle is the Civatron's lifestyle and as such Civatron youth must develop martial skills and master psionic energy to use in combat. One of the most seen trials is the hunt for a demonic entity and the development of their own psionic blade, which requires great amounts of concentration and neural customization to fit the individual's size and preference. Psi Blades, as they would call them, is a Civatron's life and personality imbued in a weapon that is so dense and so filled with extra-dimensional energy, that it can easily cut through most of the materials it touches. Additionally, due to the blade being imbued with Psionic energy, a Civatron's neural process and psionic might are directly linked to it. A Psi Blade may not kill its target all the time, but it can inflict serious wounds that eventually render a mind catatonic. In the case of demons, this power surge of psionic essence explodes like hellish, blue fire, disintegrating them for good.
