We have waited long enough. Cyrannus awaits, brothers and sisters. Let us claim our position as the rulers of the galaxy.

- Kradik

The Bygorians are a race of scientists, Warriors, and builders, who inhabit the Cyrannus Galaxy and are interested in expanding and studing the artifacts of Precursor Races of their galaxy. They are currently divied between 2 empires; The Peacefull Bygorian Imperium and the savage Primal movement.

The Imperium is progressive and favors working with others, as well as a democratic system of management. The Movement, however, believes in tradition, as well as a fervent believe in the Gods, something the Imperium only causally observes.

They were united during the Cyrannian Cold War, by Kradik, the Armored Titan of Zarbania, a Warlord of The Zarbania Powers, a admirer of the Drakodominatus Tyranny and an ambitious warlord seeking to become Emperor himself. Though many Bygorians of both factions are disturbed by some of his actions, and many are disturbed by his increasing instability, most do not question him, out of fear, and respect for what he has done for the nation, to bring it together and keep it unified, and potentially advance them enough to challenge the Galactic Empire, something no Bygorian ever dreamed of before.

History[]

Unification and Space stage[]

The Bygorians evolved upon their world of Bygor Major under the guidance and stewardship of the advanced and otherworldy Oikoumene, who, similar to the Cogsangui, left behind many relics and pieces of technology, which the Bygorians claim was left for them to advance. One persistent legend, is that they once had the chance to rule the galaxy, but opposed the Gods. They believe their ancient warrior-kings thought themselves invincible, and that their great technology would put them on the level of their gods. They tell of Warriors who were born of shadows, and had the worst traits of the Gods given form and made manifest. They were sundered, and their warrior-kings and chieftains easily tossed aside, and their minds "Melted as though a sun had been projected into their feeble minds". Though they were almost destroyed, it is said that some of the Gods, named the Estmen'khalish, would take pity on the Bygorians, and, seeing their potential, left behind technology to guide the young race back to their glory.

Since that day, the Bygorians analyzed and studied their technology, and came under the rulership of an Emperor and his royal family, and various Clans, and lords. For many years, especially when the Intergalactic War waged, the Bygorians advanced and developed, and had the potential to rise as a prominent power in those coming years. However, many grew tired of the Emperor, and the latest members seemed to hide and hog the greatest treasures of the Gods for themselves. Those that formed a more democratic movement, claimed that such hubris would lead to the destruction by "They born of Shadow", and sought to stop this from happening again. The Emperor at the time, not wishing for blood, agreed to meet with the Pro-democracy leaders, feeling civil war beneath his people, and not what the Gods would want.

However, he was tricked, many of the Pro-democracy forces bringing weapons, and killing him. When their less extreme peers protested, they too, where silenced. The leader, Ancreest, then lead the murder of what was thought the entire royal family, except for one. This member, Prince Kradik would escape to Mirus, and join The Zarbania Powers.

Ancreest, meanwhile, would become even more intolerant and brutal then even the past Emperors, silencing most opposition and declaring that, all he did, was done to prevent the return of the Royal family and their tyranny. A growing rebel movement, known as "Primals", began to step away from him, made up of those still loyal to the crowned family, or those loyal to Democracy, but who felt Ancreest was too violent and domineering to lead. These various groups would be untied under the rule of a Koor'goal, who would see to it that all views within the Movement would be respected.

Their Tribe-Clans would wage a long war with the Bygorian Imperium, their great status reduced to tribalism and warfare between Clans, on Bygor Major and Bygor Minor, and all across their space. Any potential they once had was lost, and, as the rest of the galaxy suffered under the weight of the Great Cyrannus Galactic War, Bygor was divided against those who believed in the "Science-Lords", and those who followed the Koor'Goal. These forces would continue fighting for years, until the Cyrannian Cold War, where Kradik would return to his home, with a Zarbanian invasion fleet, and infiltrate both groups.

Kradik would oversee the transfer of power from the current Koor'goal, named Skeeni, and dethrone Ancreest, taking back his throne, and uniting the various Zarbanian colonists and personnel with the Bygorians into the newly crafted United Bygorian Ascendancy. Impressed by the ideals of the Drakodominatus Tyranny, Kradik would seek to recreate the Tyrannt through his own people, and, became increasingly affiliated with delusions of grandeur, believing the Emperor of the Galactic Empire feared him and was envious of his position, and sought to destroy Kradik before he could become a threat. While even his most loyal servants doubt this, he has maintained unity and strength in the Ascendancy, and mobilized them to challenge powers they never thought possible before hand. However, many are becoming increasingly disturbed as Kradik seeks to constantly replicate the Drakodominatus Tyranny, who he briefly fought alongside, before High Command ordered his retreat.

After the destruction of the Ascendancy, and their occupation by the Empire, numerous fleets would flee and join other Resistance movements, some even partaking in the Great Battle of Orbispira. Still, the Bygorians did not join the New Republic like many, and instead, accepted invitation from Zarbania to join the The Zarbania Powers, right as Ridanax had left the throne, and elections where to be had. Without Kradik, however, many Bygorians were left uncertain of their place in the universe.

Traits[]

Culture[]

The Bygorians, while divided as a race, feature many of the same traits. They are a scientific focused, rather liberal society, which has always enjoyed high culture and a love of traditional and new means, and mixing them together. Both sides have a respect towards the mighty Gods of their galaxy, and their relics. They have a deep believe that their ancestors somehow sinned against the Gods in the past, and, for their sins of being violent warmongers and savages, the Bygorians were punished, their empire reduced to ashes, but given a second chance to redeem themselves, now focusing on science and creation like their gods to redeem themselves. While still rather violent compared to most Cyrannians, they are more hesitant to go to war, and will try and diffuse any situation, believing killing sinful to the Gods, and might risk the awakening of the 27 Rakisha, demons who where responsible for punishing the Bygorians for their sins in the past.

Both are divided by various Clans, who control the Movement/Imperium across many worlds, and all answer to their respective ruler. To become Clan leader, or Ramoraak, another Bygorian must challenge and defeat him in one-on-one combat. Failure to do so can result in death, exile, or torture. The Lords of Science, the leaders of Bygorian Imperial Society, embrace a more democratic tradition to choosing their leaders, though honor duels still happen, more for fun and to keep their physical frames healthy. Otherwise, Bygorians are extremely loyal to Clan, and while not as important as Cogsangui Clans, the Bygorians still venerate them, and believe that all members of a Clan share a common ancestor, a hero of the Gods who worked to redeem their Clan after their attempted war with the Gods.

To enter adulthood, a Bygorian must pass the tests of physical endurance, proving his body is worthy of the Gods, and of intellect, proving his mind is worthy of their gifts. Once he or she has completed both, they are given the title of "Shinh" or "Kuilr", and receive an Iron Bracelet form their father, mother, or any individual that oversaw their passage into adulthood. Bygorians, as par their religious believes, loath and believe Caste systems actually sinful, and that all are equal under the benevolent gaze of the Gods. As such, many have begun to feel increasingly worried over the obvious caste-like system in the United Bygorian Ascendancy.

Though the Primal Movement embraces the ideals of "magic" and its use, the Bygorians cannot use Essence, only their Grey Seers able to tap into this "magic", and use it to mix with their technological marvels to protect themselves, see into the future, and guide society. Grey Seers lead both movements, but have never fought each other. Instead during battles, the two Grey Seers will sit in the center as the warriors fight, and seemingly meditate for sometime, before getting up and leaving. Even among enemy warriors, they will never attack a Grey Seer, due to their importance. Grey Seers rarely lead Clans, only the Bygorian movements as a whole, but many have advisory positions within these Clans.

Clans[]

  • Location - Eastern fringe of Bygorian territories.
  • Leader - Dynast Jorekh'Rixtal.

The Dynasty of B-Rixtal is one of the famous Clan-Dynasties commanding the Bygorian Empire today, and has remained a powerful, if small, force in Bygorian politics for years. Locating their bastion on the planet, Rixantis, B-Rixtal has territories in the eastern fringe of the galaxy, in the unknown regions, and far from Neriada holdings. The B-rixtal maintain a strict hierarchy within their miniature empire, with each citizen understanding his place in the Clan and knowing when to follow orders. However, this ideology extends to the higher ups of the Clan, with their Dynast Lord obeying the ruling monarchs without question.

B-Rixtal, for it's cooperation with Ancreest upon his rise to power, retained much of their territory, though, even after his fall, remained loyal to Kradik. However, since they had worked with the False Emperor, they lost many of their holdings to their main rivals, Clan Dyransha. B-Rixtal still struggles to regain their position and respect from the other Clans.

The Clan is loyal to the ideals of the Science Lords, rather then the Primals, and believe proper worship of the Gods comes through advanced scientific thought and reasoning. They yield many advanced weapons and devices, though focus their attention on war, something the other Clans criticize as limited and dangerous for a Bygorian.

B-Rixtal claims descent from Talketh'Rixtal.

B-Rixtal's main enemy is Clan Dyransha, and retains good relations with most other clans, though is considered too willy to be fully trusted.

  • Location - Eastern core of the Bygorian empire
  • Leader - Dynast Immoketp'Dyransha

The Dyransha Clan is another of the Bygorian clans, known for it's size and influence. Where's their rivals of B-Rixtal are small but focus their influence on where it matters, Dyransha seeks to hold influence over several areas, both in and beyond Bygorian control. The rivalry has lead to a great many civil wars between the two.

During Ancreest's occupation, Dyransha tried to resist, but it's leader was killed and replaced with a more loyal boot-lick. However, this was merely a front, and Dyransha supplied many Bygorian rebels with weapons and gear. After Kradik took command, Dyransha was rewarded with territory taken from their B-Rixtal rivals.

Many clans fear the large clan, but fear them as well. Dyransha prefers this balance of power.

  • Location - Southern Bygorian territories
  • Leader - Dynast Tren'Krom

  • Location - Northern core of Territories
  • Leader - Dynast Ikeno'Gleftto

  • Location - Southern Core of Territories
  • Leader - Jarin'Korf

  • Location - Core of Bygorian territories

Biology[]

Bygorians are slim, reptilian beings, who are best adapted for warm, swampy environments. They have three eyes, which are very sensitive to injury, but have keen sight. They have very durable skin, and are extremely agile and flexible, and are most notable for having 4 arms, and allowing them to switch from bipedal, to a crawling stance on the run, as well as climb up walls and caves. They can use their claws to dig and burrow through the earth, and prefer environments with high heat.

Their blood is acidic and poisonous, and cuts can often project the blood long distances, though, after 10 seconds in the open air, the blood will calm down and act more normally. They have 2 hearts, and an extra brain in their spinal cord used to provide extra dexterity and control for their limbs. They have a prehensile tale that can wipe around and be used to strangle foes. They have a high metabolism, and can eat just about everything, but have trouble with bones. It is common for them, when eating meat, to eat everything, but spit up the bones, a cultural practice to remind themselves of their mortality, and to appease the gods. They have four-forked tongues, and their tongues are directly connected to their digestive track, meaning pulling out the tongue will tear out the rest of their organs.

Bygorians are race of somewhat above average strength, but pale compared to the likes of the Mortalitas and Cogsangui of their galaxy, prefering to use agility and speed. They can still overpower the Libertus or similar races with ease.

Bygorians have average potential for Valin'uvalyë, and in fact have their own traditions separate from the traditions of the Aldar or Phaedra, instead weaving their Valin'uvalyë powers in the elements of nature itself, and using this power to control and command. While similar to Koatria power, it is far different, as while Koatria use their powers to connect with the elements and make it an extension of themselves, these "Seers of Bygore", utilize Valin to twist and turn the element as a tool.

Technology[]

Bygorians are an advanced race, uses recycled precursor tech. They, despite their young age, have used it throughout their history, and are only beginning to unlock their potential. Their most notable peace, based on ancient 13th Tribe technology, is a throwing chakram, which many use instead of blasters, due to its ability to always hit a target, and warp through solid objects, like walls. Though they do not understand all of the Oikoumene's technology, that which they have built, they have complete understanding of.

They are also capable of building massive robot-like structures called Golems, who fill various roles in their society, from simple labor units, to heavy War Machines used to blast and destroy any targets in their path. It is said the Golems were gifts from the Gods, and the Bygorians to this day have devoted their energies to trying to find how to create more Golems, out of reverence for the their Gods and saviors.

Religion[]

The Bygorians worship the artifacts, relics and pieces of technology left behind by the Oikoumene, and revere them as benevolent lords and creators. The Bygorians believe in their central tenants, the ideals of giving all a second chance, just as the Gods did for them, and any sin, no matter how horrible, can be forgiven. As such, Bygorians will always give another a second chance, and for the sinner to abuse this trust, is seen as a terrible mistake indeed. The first of the Gods, The Antecedent, known as the Lord of the Eternal-Almighty Sky, and creator of all, was said to have crafted the Gods, the worlds and all life form segments of his heart, and breathed life into them after he was done, and went to rest to heal himself. The Eternal-Almighty Sky will return in the end times, it is said, to lead Bygor to a new path that will bring happiness to all.

Orgun the Chronicler is the next God worshiped, and the Lord of all that has happened, and will happen. Within his grand library of books, scrolls and tablets, he has recorded everything that has happened, and has knowledge of what will happen. However, Orgun admonishes his students to stay like water, to always be ready to move and to never think the future is still. Like water, the future flows and changes shape, and the Bygorians must be ready for this. Korthagis the Warrior and Venom-Giver is the God of war, battle, poetry and venom amongst the Bygorians. He is said to be the father of Emperors, and imbues the Bygorians with not just the fighting spirit to keep fighting, no matter the odds, but also gives them the venom in their blood and spit, biting each and everyone has infants, not only so they will grow up strong and fearsome, with the poison of the gods flowing through their veins, but so that, if they fall, the Gods will punish those for killing their children. Arkitos the Forger is the God most linked with science and creation, and other then the Antecedent, the one most worshipped. He is described as the younger brother of Korthagis, and the two always harass and belittle one another in jest and out of a jovial sense of comradery. Arkitos commonly uses his scientific mind to engineer tricks and slights of hadn to trick Korthagis, who enjoys testing his won sight and mind against his smarter brother. Arkitos is seen as the father of the Bygorians, and it is said that he created the supposed "City of the Gods", for them to stay in while they ruled Cyrannus.

Phaaras, the Dreamer, is the half-blind shaman of dreams and of the powers of the Grey Seers. He is a being of eternal enlightenment, and sometimes takes mortal form to wander the galaxy and teach others wisdom, and learn it himself. Phaaras has spoke in the sacred texts that "Even a god can learn from a mortal, and that none are beyond learning, no matter how many billions of years they walk". Phaaras is said to protect the dreams of children from the Antola, a dream-demon that eats the dreams of children and turns them into nightmares, slowly driving them insane. Many lullaby's invoke Phaaras' name. Aongle the Creator is closely linked with Arkitos, but linked to the evolution and biologic creation, rather then the creation of technology. Aongle is said to have taken by the Bygorians, and given them three eyes, to see the beauty of the world better, four arms, to work all the faster, and keen minds, to learn all there is in the world. Aongle created all life, but created the Bygorians first, not to represent their superiority, but that they will be held to a higher standard in the End Times. Eiklosos, the Death-King, is the God of the After-Life and death, and gathers the souls of those who fall within the sun to maintain its heat and give life back to those in Bygor Major and other worlds. Eiklosos chooses the most venerable and kind souls to enter the sun, so that they will continue to provide heat and life for their world. He will then choose less venerable souls to enter the moon, and keep gravity and the world in balance. The least of these, the most evil, will be caste in Forges of Arkitos and Aongle, to have their souls reborn, and be given a second chance. If they do not make the most of this, they will be cast into damnation to serve out a sentence, before being sent to Eiklosos for final judgment, of whether they can be reborn or even sent to the moon. Tinayyas the Light-Gardener is the Eternal-warden of the Gardens of life and light. Tinayyas is regarded as the source of life and happiness, and a wise leader among the Gods, and was the one to intercede on behalf of the Bygorians, convincing the rest of the Gods to give the Bygorians a second chance. The Bygorians themselves believe that their rise to power is the best prayer of thanks to Tinayyas, and believe that, once they unify the galaxy in peace and prosperity, Tinayyas will be most pleased with them.

Kromdes the Traveler is the God of wanderers and travelers, and it is said, in the ancient times, when the Bygorian Clans migrated across the world of Bygor Major, after their defeat by the Gods, Kromdes joined his children, seeking to not only mend wounds with them, for it is said he lost his brother to a Bygorian Warrior-King, but to help them reach new heights. In his travels, he went to the lands of icy and frost, of fire and magma, and returned to his children with the knowledge of cloak and hide themselves in the land like chameleons. Vanish the Caretaker is the Goddess of the Nectar of life, and it was she who bathed the first Bygorians and other life forms in this nectar to bring them to life after Aongle created them. She maintains the fountains of Abstraction, a location that all Bygorians travel to after giving birth, and bath their hatchlings in, to give them strength and vitality, and connect them to the Gods.

The Bygorians also believe in the 27 Shadowed ones, who represent the worst traits of the Gods, their anger, wrath, vengeance and destruction, born from the Bygorians' attempts to unseat the Gods and make themselves rulers. The 27 Rakisha were unleashed by the Gods, and easily turned aside the weapons of the Bygorians with a flick of the wrist, it said melting the minds of their greatest warriors with nothing but a glance, and reducing the Bygorians to their homeworld. It was only Tinayyas' intervention that saved the Bygorians. Even today, 27 is an unlucky number, there being no 27th floor in their buildings, the 27th Emperor naming himself "The Emperor after his 26th peer", and the Galactic Empire, referred to fearfully as "The Empire of the 27 Hells", which the Empire's links to these Rakisha may be more true then any Bygorian realizes.

Excelling in politics and measurements, he became a fiery, stubborn member of the Science council, before finally being successfully elected toe Science Emperor/Science Lord. He became infamous after proclaiming that the Primal Movement, and those who did not follow the science lords where traitors of the race. This caused the Primal Movement to become more aggressive towards the Imperium, and eventually lead to the Civil War.

Emperor Ancrest is well-meaning, but can be extremely tyrannical, and favors destroying his foes, rather then working with them.
