The Anomalyis are a sapient species of cyborg that were made to protect the Galactic Core from the Grox. The implants not only improve their abilities for practical reasons, they were created to protect the Anomalyis.
They seem to be kind to other empires, but will attack the Grox. Allying the Anomalyis makes the Grox instantly hostile.
