The Àtzalèkotl-Lina-Ek, known in the Hive Of Mirus as Àtzokotl, are a species from another universe. In this universe, they are members of the Waptoria Alliance Of Species with a growing influence and a division between two groups, despite which being a small conflict, could quickly grow larger and become devastating.

History

Tribal Beginnings

The Àtzalèkotl-Lina-Ek claim to have started off as sapient armless insectoids known as Rana-Lina-Ek, which has various subspecies, all living on an Earth-like planet known as Ak. The species worshipped their planet as their mother, and believed that everything was the planet's children. However, a few Exiled Zealots barely escaped the infrared grasp of the planet Urionuel when the Exiled Mass formed, and discovered a race of mutated bipeds, known as the Yuno-Lina-Ek. Following a series of events known simply as the Chronicles, the Yuno-Lina-Ek were later reverted into a fully sapient race known as the Alcians, which would later reach space. Other things that happened were the planet Urionuel's destruction using a nuclear missile, causing the civil war that would eventually nearly make the Exiled Flesh and Exiled Zealots go extinct. Some Àtzalèkotl-Lina-Ek today claim that the Chronicles were a disastrous period of time.

Exilist Influence

There were still Exiled Flesh on Ak, and they began exerting moral and religious influence upon most species of Rana-Lina-Ek. Over the course of millions of years, most of the species were hybridised into a single species, the Xera-Rana-Lina-Ek. Most of them became Exilists, the followers of the religion of the Exiled One, but some still believed in Ak, although their mother-planet became converted into another planet of Exiled Flesh, and all matter on the planet was converted.

But the worst was still to come, until it happened. The Exiled Zealots striked back again, taking up infrared control of Ak and killing the few species of Rana-Lina-Ek left! Although one other species escaped to form a short-lived empire, and some were deported somewhere, some Xera-Rana-Lina-Ek were put into a special Exiled Flesh tertiary form, which inserts enzyme-like DNA that converts a species into an Exiled Zealot.

A Turning Point

However, the Xera-Rana-Lina-Ek had special genes that mixed with the DNA, forming a hybrid race: the Àtzalèkotl-Lina-Ek. They fled to a planet mockingly renamed Tzèoqàtl by them, and agreed to be a last resort for the new Exiled Hive. However, when the Exiled Zealots all soon became infected by a strange parasitic disease, the Exiled Flesh of the time banded together to wipe them all out.

From the ashes of the Exiled Hive's revival emerged the Àtzalèkotl-Lina-Ek, who would go on to found the Free Hive Of Tzèoqàtl and discover what they believed to be a portal that transports whoever goes in into the Exiled One. In reality, it was an ancient portal used by the Waptoria Alliance Of Species and the Exiled Mass to cross over to each other's home universe, but they don't know that, and those who do find out only do so when they go in. Upon emerging, they claim that the Exiled One redirected them 50 million years into the past, and when trying to go back in, they re-emerge back into the SporeWiki Fiction Universe, just outside of the portal. Due to this, the Waptoria Alliance Of Species gains one Àtzalèkotl-Lina-Ek immigrant a day.

But this isn't all good. When they were in the Free Hive Of Tzèoqàtl, they were under the infrared control of a hierarchy of chieftains and a single king, so when they leave this influence, some revert to their ancestrial religion and language, creating a schism between them and those who are fine with worship of Exilism. During the early days of Àtzalèkotl-Lina-Ek arrival, there was also a small conflict between them and the Exiled Flesh, but it has since been reduced to the Ak worshippers, or simply the Aktheists.

Etymology

The first part of their name means "Inhabitants Of Unusual Blood" in Exillic, the main Exilist language. It was named that in reference to their capital planet's seemingly red water. The rest of the name is a suffix from Rana-Zel-Zel-Ek, their ancestrial language, that adds that what is being described by the species name is a child of Ak capable of moving.

Anatomy

Only half of an Àtzalèkotl-Lina-Ek's body is distinct to it's (former) species. Most of the head, the large finger on each hand, and a toxin-projecting orifice in the abdomen were Xera-Rana-Lina-Ek traits, but everything else is not.

Like the Exiled Flesh, the Àtzalèkotl-Lina-Ek have infrared control. Although not as much, as they are essentially hybrids, there is enough control to establish mental dominance over other individuals while independent opinions and movement control are possible. Because of this reduced amount, Exiled Flesh are for the most part free from Àtzalèkotl-Lina-Ek control.

Most unusually, they have antennae, unlike either the Xera-Rana-Lina-Ek or the Exiled Zealots. It is unknown how they came to be in the genetic code, but it was likely the result of two incomplete DNA patterns, one in each of the two initial species, coming together and forming the antennae, but this has yet to be proven. However, these antennae act mostly as ears, allowing them to hear different frequencies that are inaudible to other species.

Society

Given that they have biological infrared communications, hierarchies can form, allowing superior individuals or clusters of the equally receptive Exiled Flesh to take control of lesser beings. However, these hierarchies cannot be possible if a member of either species is a part of a groupmind or hivemind.

Inner Conflict

Since early in their existence in this universe, the Àtzalèkotl-Lina-Ek have fought one another over their religion due to the influence of the High Prophet Of Lust. However, this has come to an end in the following months, when the Aktheist faction expressed desire to be deported to a suitable planet on which they will be able to carry on their religion and their ancestrial heritage.

Trivia

  • As the name of this species and it's capital planet suggest, the Àtzalèkotl-Lina-Ek were based on the Mayans, but information was added onto this page to make it less obvious.
