A single Dalek is powerful enough to take on an army. Can you imagine what they can do when pumped with dark essences? And in numbers? The Corruptus seeks to exterminate us all.

- Master Ryen

The individual known only as the Nightmarish Dalek was a member of the Dalek race who was descended by the demonic Shu'wokerama, being turned into a zealous servant of the Corruptus in the process. Completely abandoning the old ideas of the Dalek Empire, the Nightmarish Dalek saw the demons of Shu'rimrodir as the ultimate forms of life in the universe, and its goal was to turn all of its race into corrupted slaves of the demons of nightmare and destroy all who oppose it, be them aliens or other Dalek who dared oppose it.

Combining the extremely advanced technology of the Daleks with the immense destructive power of the Nightmare Essence, the Nightmarish Dalek was among the most powerful Corruptus Demons the First Gigaquadrant has ever faced. The success of the Nightmarish Dalek would mean the deaths of billions, and would also strengthen the ranks of the Corruptus to colossal levels. The entity was a good reminder that none are safe from the dark powers of the Nightmare God, and by his will, the universe could be brought to its knees through the influence of one single servant.

History[]

The Nightmarish Dalek begun as a standard Dalek warrior who is assumed to have participated during the Girdo Campaigns and the Second Ottzello Galactic War. During the Daleks's later war against the Undine, this warrior was left damaged and nearly broken down, abandoned in an unknown uninhabited planet and left behind after the Dalek Empire left the First Gigaquadrant. Kept in life support by its travel machine, this Dalek remained in a coma until it was found by the demons of the Corruptus, who sought to cause havoc across the universe once again by making a vanguard out of it, after Shu'wokerama had learned of their race's power. The power of Nightmare Energy gave new life to the Dalek and reconstructed its armor, and after that, it became completely obedient to the will of the nightmare demons, leaving the world it was trapped in to fulfill their commands.

The Nightmarish Dalek attempted to create a new Dalek Empire by corrupting more of its kind into servitude and using the powers of a time-manipulating entity - first a Time Lord, then Tuolog when it could not find any - to open a Genesis Ark. However, its efforts were thwarted by the efforts of Apalos, Titanozor, Ryen and Hachiman, leading to the Nightmarish Dalek's destruction by their combined powers. The incident led to the deaths of a significant number of Daleks still inhabiting the First Gigaquadrant and the destruction of the Genesis Ark the Nightmarish Dalek was attempting to open.

Following the demonified Dalek's destruction, Apalos made sure to erase all possible evidence of the occurrence in order to keep the near-apocalyptic event a secret from the Gigaquadrantic populace. As such, the creature's existence is only known to those who aided in its defeat.

Characteristics[]

Appearance[]

Superficially, the Nightmarish Dalek appeared much like any individual of the Dalek race, interacting with the world through the use of a Dalek travel machine. However, its corruption by Shu'wokerama led its chassis to be charred in black, red and purple, and the dome lights upon its upper casing had been reshaped into horn-like protrusions covered by a layer of transparent bone-like material which shone a deep red light when the Nightmarish Dalek spoke.

The actual mutant residing in the drone was little more than a convulsing, throbbing mass of tentacles emitting an immense aura of dark energy, powerful enough to leak out of its armor, giving the impression that the Dalek was permanently shrouded in purple flame.

Personality[]

The typical hostility of its former Dalek self combined with the corruption of the Nightmare Essence rendered the Nightmarish Dalek completely mad, while making it blindly obedient to the ideals of the Corruptus - that is, the domination of the universe in the name of the Nightmade God. The Nightmarish Dalek saw those who oppose it as obstacles to be removed, be them aliens or other Daleks who refuse to follow it.

Its sheer hatred for all things made it a volatile, short-tempered and abrasive entity who typically shot before asking, without any remorse or second thought. As far as the Nightmarish Dalek was concerned, not following the law of the Corruptus could only be punished by complete extermination.

Abilities[]

The incredibly advanced technology of the Daleks combined with the powers of Essence made the Nightmarish Dalek overwhelmingly powerful, even by Corruptus Demon standards. Its Mark III travel machine combined its natural resilience, its force field shielding and Essence barriers, effectively making it nigh invulnerable to all but the most overpowering amounts of damage. The Nightmarish Dalek's gunstick was also amplified by combining its usual ammunition with Nightmare Energy, making it deal even more damage to practically anything it fired at.

In addition, the Nightmarish Dalek also had the power of assuming a Null State, taking the form of a colossal, levitating mass of flesh with a pair of gigantic wing-like membranes which it used to cast nightmare energy blasts the size of meteors. At this state, only an overwhelming amount of firepower directed at its Corruptus Heart could harm it in any meaningful way.

Trivia[]

  • The Nightmarish Dalek's model was made based on Ghelæ's Dalek model.
  • The character was inspired by a conversation in the wiki's former IRC channel, where the idea of a Dalek undergoing Descension was jokingly proposed. It eventually led to it being made canon.
