In terms of actual physical appearance, Kz'nt is not too different from a typical Grimbolsaurian, save for the fact that she lacks the large head quills typical to the females of her species, as they were cut in during her trials in the fire plains by a particularily sadistic student. Though she misses her youthful beauty (long quills are considered attractive among her people), she generally does not concern herself with that, as the Grimbolsaurians value physical strength valour in battle much more than physical attractiveness. Thus, during her early career as a commander, she frequently received love letters from her fellow officers, who were apparently infatuated with her brutality. Outside of her quills, she had also lost her legs during the {{Fiction|Great Cyrannus War}}, which she then replaced with long mechanical implants. She would often claim that, although she could easily get organic legs, she preferred something non-biological purely because it made her feel "badass".

Kz'nt wears the traditional regalia of a Delpha Coalition officer - a rather elegantly decorated uniform with an armoured tailcoat, a pair of raised epaulets, and ornate geometric patterns on metal meant to evoke embroidery. Although her uniform is olive drab in colour, which would imply that it is used for camouflage, this purpose is actually served by the cloaking fields in her armour, and the green colour of the armour actually represents the national flag of the Coalition. On the right side of her chest, Kz'nt wears a set of medals for her deeds during the Revolution and the {{fiction|Great Xonexian Schism}} made from condensed hypermatter held in a force field - fixed to a particularily large armour plate. Outside of boosting her ego, the medals also serve to attract enemy fire to the chest, where her armour is the strongest. Among the more unique elements of her armour is her red goggles and her large raised helmet, resembling a human [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pickelhaube ''Pickelhaube'']; the large spike on its top serves as a communication device, while the ceramic human skull was actually added specifically to intimidate French troops. The most obvious part of her outfit, however, is her many missiles. Outside of the two AI-controlled missile launchers on her shoulders, and the smaller handheld ones she uses as firearms, she also has several missiles on her back, no less than 40 small guided missiles attached to her helmet and falling to her shoulders like a cowl, and finally a few in her pockets.

Kz'nt is equal parts a tactician and a fighter; though she prefers to remain at distance when commanding, watching the slaughter from afar, when situation calls for it, she is not afraid to get dirty and become the agent of destruction herself. Her trademark weapon is, of course, missiles and explosives - both those that she wields personally and those that she commands as an officer. As a tactician, missiles are highly important to her favourite tactic of ''perpetual suppression'' - using ordnance and other indiscriminate weaponry to scatter and pin down the enemy, then using small task forces to hunt down and destroy the survivors. As a warrior, she finds missiles a particularily useful kind of weaponry, as they allow her to face much larger groups of soldiers single-handedly and still emerge victorious; they have saved her life on a multitude of occasions. Kz'nt, as mentioned earlier, wields an entire array of missiles on her own body, most of them AI-guided, ranging from smaller ones that function more as explosive rounds, to anti-personnel toxic missiles that utilise nerve gas, and finally to thermic charges that can obliterate entire buildings. However, Kz'nt's focus on explosive weapons has a downside: if someone, by some uncanny stroke of luck, managed to get closer to her, she would not be able to offer much meaningful resistance, as she has little experience in close quarters and using her normal arsenal would risk killing her as well. Fortunately for her, her Omnitermines, which follow her constantly, somewhat alleviate that weakness of her, as a flock of these savage creatures can pin down a man in seconds.

Having come through hell and back, stranded on a tribal world for years, and unbalanced overall, Kz'nt represents all the dark sides of the Delpha Coalition and only a few of its bright sides. Above all, Kz'nt is efficient. Though she truly enjoys war and the bloody conquests, and especailly the roaring of missiles, she is driven more by her chauvinism and patriotism than sadism. She will readily break an egg - or two, or three, or ten, or ten thousand - but make eventually her metaphorical omelette, which for her is the security of the Coalition and its reputation on the Gigaquadrantic stage (that is to say, she wants to have it feared by all). She is fervently loyal to the government of the Coalition and the Immortal Council, not because she truly believes in its ideals of order and law, but more out of her personal loyalty to the Emperor and her race, and especially to her former tutor and commander, {{captain|Warlord Kilnok}}. Earlier in her life, Kz'nt often attempted to somehow invoke Kilnok's attention and make him notice her - mostly in vain, as Kilnok does not seem to notice Kz'nt that much, at least more than any other of his subordinates. Outside of her superiors, she is also quite close to her soldiers, whom she treats in high regard despite often sacrificing them for the cause, and especially the zealot Omnitermines that she had personally raised from barbarism into more advanced barbarism. It is said that during the Schism, after every battle, she would hold a solemn ceremony to mourn the deaths of her soldiers, especially those who consciously sacrificed themselves for the cause.

You may have to burn a world more than once to take it.

- Kz'nt

General-oberst Kz'nt vh'Znklar, also known as the Mother of Missiles for her trademark arsenal, was one of the Delpha Coalition of Planets' planetary warfare generals during the infamous Great Xonexian Schism. A brilliant tactician and a powerful warrior in her own right - owing to her people's famous militant culture - Kz'nt had earned her stripes, and her fame, through brilliant, yet ruthlessly bloody victories, most notably the Slaughter of New Essex during the Milky Way campaign. Decried as a psychopathic war criminal by the Xonexi Allies and once considered to be a hero by her own people, Kz'nt is, one way or another, a legendary woman, with her reputation ringing across the Gigaquadrant despite her relatively low rank in the Coalition's military.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Considering her high post in the Delpha Coalition's military, records of Kz'nt's early life are heavily classified. However, it is rumoured that, while she herself came from the industrial spice mining world of Mylak, her parents were from Fahler, and were known dissidents executed for treason (which may explain Kz'nt's mental state). She is known to have studied once in the Imperial Military Academy of the M'kil Bay, located in the southern dryforest regions of Mirenton, where she was one of the brightest alumni, showing particular talents in chemistry, political theory, and tactics. The story of her victory in the Red Trials, a particularly important contest where students of the Academy would be sent into the planet's infamous fire plains and fight each other to the death, is particularly famed. Allegedly, she fashioned an explosive device out of desert minerals and water from a local oasis, planted it into this oasis, and then lured the rest of the contestants there - with the obvious lethal outcome. Though the professors of the Academy were obviously horrified, they praised Kz'nt for her ingenuity, and her name eventually found its way on the Academy's honour roll.

Commander[]

Kz'nt has served the Coalition with honour and the occasional insanity ever since as a military commander ever since, starting from a lieutenant under Admiral Kilnok and rising in ranks rapidly. She became particularly known for her swift thinking and efficiency, mastery of planetary warfare, and her strong belief in the importance of (some would say obsession with) missiles and explosives. Her first important post was during the Revolution of the Warlords, when, deemed particularly loyal to the Emperor, was assigned as a political officer to the Expansion Wedge Front to protect Coalition law. When one of the generals protecting the Wedge renounced his loyalty to the Immortal Council and, together with his subordinates, attempted to defect to Warlord Mauloron, Kz'nt responded by bombarding the general's entire compound with surface to surface missiles for several hours, until nothing remained of the officers, their hideout, or just about anything in a mile's radius around it. It is said that Kz'nt laughed for hours as she gazed at the missiles exploding, adding to the rain of fire with rockets of her own attached to her armour.

Though this act of brutality was succesful, and the remaining soldiers under the rebel general's command reaffirmed their loyalty to the Emperor, the Immortal Council as a whole was not keen on such a callous waste of Coalition resources (not to mention destroying significant amounts of potentially useful data), and following the war, Kz'nt was deemed mentally ill and hospitalised. However, it did not take long for her to recover, and eventually, after a year or so of extensive therapy, she returned to the army, having come to use video games, poetry, and sculpting as an outlet for her manias. The former hobby had an inadvertent effect of making her proficient in the languages of the Euraspact (with whom she often clashed), especially the profanities. Her love of explosives remained, albeit brought down to manageable levels, and as she rose in ranks further, she eventually gained a new moniker: Mother of Missiles.

Exile[]

Kz'nt's military endeavours eventually led her to the Cyrandia Cluster, where she, now a full-fledged Generaloberst, fought in the Intergalactic War and the Great Cyrannus War. Due to the cluster's unique spacetime properties, she managed to survive the Annihilation, along with a number of men under her command; however, the stories of her people vanishing prompted her to return to the Milky Way. When she was approached by Warlord Eclipsos, who invited her to join his Magellanic Sovereignty of Planets, the General, loyal to the Emperor even in death, refused to deal with the traitor and escaped with her most loyal soldiers in the Endless Space, where she hoped to amass an army to topple the Warlord. Though this endeavour was not extremely successful, she managed to uplift and recruit one particularily hardy and aggressive tribal species, the avian Omnitermines. Posing as a local goddess, she converted the primitive creatures into her personal army of worshippers, ready to kill and die in her name, setting up a plethora of rituals and ceremonies based on Coalition military traditions.

It was only after a few years that the Coalition, returned from the Omega Point, managed to locate Kz'nt again. Though the two first ships that came to parlay with her were destroyed by the zealous Omnitermines, Kz'nt believing them to be Eclipsos's tricks, the appearance of Kilnok convinced his former pupil, and Kz'nt returned to Mirenton. Her worshippers followed her, joining the Coalition as zealot soldiers. She would soon return to service, earning a few bloody yet brilliant victories for the Coalition during the Andromeda War, crushing the Grox Empire for good as part of the New Grox Wars and bloodying the Drakodominatus Tyranny during the Attero Dominatus conflict. Every battle would only cement her reputation for ruthlessness and lethality, especially since she now had an entire species of fanatics ready to die for her at her beck and call. The flock of armoured avians carrying bombs, swooping at the Coalition's enemies to bring about death and destruction, became the General's constant companion, and she came to love the alien birds almost as much as she loved missiles.

War Criminal[]

The war that had truly brought Kz'nt to the forefront again, however, was the Great Xonexian Schism. As one of the Coalition's ground commanders of the Milky Way front, she is considered to be the main perpetrator of the infamous Slaughter of New Essex, which the French Sixth Republic deemed to be one of the worst Delpha Coalition war crimes in the whole Schism. Using her Omnitermine suicide bombers to harass French troops stationed on the planet, she lured them to the world's most important industrial center, Moltainfaurde, at which she would then barrage with thermic missiles. The saturation bombing continued for one hour until all of the city, with all people inside it, was reduced to a molten mixture of metal, plastic, toxic waste, human flesh and blood. France, whose journalists dubbed the battle the Slag Slaughter, would use the story of New Essex for propaganda, though the Delpha Coalition would vehemently deny that war crime and claim the explosion of Moltainfaurde was triggered accidentally by one of the French missiles destroying a nuclear plant. Kz'nt was also instrumental in the (failed) kidnapping of the Draconid Imperium general Bellisarius Claudius Alaricus (who would later become the Pan-Andromedan Ecumene's Legate-General), and the later battles of the Andromedan Front.

Following the end of the Schism, Kz'nt was planned to be put on trial as a war criminal by the Xonexi Allies; however, before she could be brought to justice, the General escaped once again into Endless Space together with her Omnitermines. Though the Pan-Andromedan Ecumene has sworn to hunt down Kz'nt, as of 2810, she remains at large.

Characteristics[]

Appearance[]

Outside of her quills, she had also lost her legs during the Great Cyrannus War, which she then replaced with long mechanical implants. She would often claim that, although she could easily get organic legs, she preferred something non-biological purely because it made her feel "badass".

Equipment[]

Kz'nt wears the traditional regalia of a Delpha Coalition officer - a rather elegantly decorated uniform with an armoured tailcoat, a pair of raised epaulets, and ornate geometric patterns on metal meant to evoke embroidery. Although her uniform is olive drab in colour, which would imply that it is used for camouflage, this purpose is actually served by the cloaking fields in her armour, and the green colour of the armour actually represents the national flag of the Coalition.

On the right side of her chest, Kz'nt wears a set of medals for her deeds during the Revolution and the Great Xonexian Schism made from condensed hypermatter held in a force field - fixed to a particularily large armour plate. Outside of boosting her ego, the medals also serve to attract enemy fire to the chest, where her armour is the strongest. Among the more unique elements of her armour is her red goggles and her large raised helmet, resembling a human Pickelhaube; the large spike on its top serves as a communication device, while the ceramic human skull was actually added specifically to intimidate French troops.

Abilities[]

Having come through hell and back, stranded on a tribal world for years, and unbalanced overall, Kz'nt represents all the dark sides of the Delpha Coalition and only a few of its bright sides.
